“Get out of bed,” said Ben’s mum.

“I have a quest for you. Today you will get a worm.”

“Can you fetch me a worm instead?” said Ben. “I am not ready to get a worm without any help.”

Ben’s mum pecked him on the head until he finally accepted his quest and perched on the edge of the nest.

“Ready, steady, go!” said Ben, and he spread his wings and leapt. “No sweat,” shouted Ben. “I will get a worm.”

Ben saw his friend Jess in the meadow pulling at a worm and headed down to help her.

“I will hold your feathers, and together we will get this worm,” said Ben. The friends pulled and pulled, but the worm stayed put.

“I think the worm is too heavy,” said Ben. “Let’s go on a quest to find some bread instead.”
