Clare was taking care of her little brother when her dad said, “Where is Clare? She needs a haircut.”

“I’m scared,” said Clare. “The pair of scissors might cut me.” “Don’t despair,” Dad said. “After we finish there, we can share some sushi.” Clare thought this was fair, so she got in the car. “Are you wearing your seatbelt?” Dad said, before starting the car. Then they made their way to the hairdresser. 4

The hairdresser was very careful and made sure that the only thing cut was Clare’s hair.
After the hairdresser finished she stared at herself in the mirror. “I love it!” Clare declared.

Then Dad and Clare went to the sushi shop. “I love my new haircut,” Clare said. “But I love sushi even more.” 8
