Mog and Gom got to the end of the track and saw a little wooden boat on the river bank. “That must be the boat,” said Gom. “It was a good thing that dragon was not a foe.” “And it is a good thing we have a boat,” said Mog as she dipped her toe in the river. “The river is freezing.”

“The river goes into that tunnel in the cliff,” said Gom. “Let’s get in the boat.” Mog and Gom drifted into the tunnel. 4

As soon as they entered the tunnel, the current started going quicker and quicker. “What is that crashing, rushing sound?” said Mog. “Oh no,” cried Gom. “Rapids! We are going to drown!”

5

The boat was tossed in the rapids and, to add to their woes, they were heading for a big rock. CRASH! “Oh no, the boat has got a crack in it,” said Gom. “Plug the crack with the dragon’s screw,” said Mog. Gom stuck the screw in the crack and it seemed to work. 6

7

“Thank goodness we are still afloat,” said Mog. “The dragon might not have been a foe but this river sure has been.” 8
