Hi, My name is Kate Thurman. I'm the owner and designer of Smarty Pants Paper Co. I recently relocated to Knoxville, TN with my husband, daughter, and two Boston Terriers. Since moving, I gave birth to my second daughter, and have been working on setting up a new studio while adjusting to life as a family of 4. My love for printing stationery started way back in 1989. I took art lessons from a wonderful woman who gave me an excellent foundation in many different artistic mediums. Every year, all of her students printed Christmas cards on Gocco screen printers, and she would organize a big Christmas card art show at the local mall. In 2005, I bought my own Print Gocco, and started designing cards under the name Microwave Girl. Sadly, Gocco has been discontinued, so I had to make a change. In 2013, I converted all of my designs to letterpress, and changed the company name to Smarty Pants Paper Co. All of my cards are now printed on a Kelsey Model X letterpress.
