You want your education to be about something that matters in the world and how you can connect and make a difference. How does biology inform psychology? What does economics have to do with preschool teaching? St. Mary’s College professors will engage you in their research, their classes, and their lives. You won’t be a number or a statistic here; you’ll be a person with a mind that’s engaged. It’s the St. Mary’s Way.

Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT)
St. Mary’s College students are creative individuals who write music, design experiments, build Tiny Houses and telescopes, tutor children, windsurf, march in Washington, D.C. Be who you are – you’ll be supported by the diverse people who call St. Mary’s College home.
It’s a challenge. But then again, what would be the point if it weren’t?
Join a club (there are over 100) or start your own. Whether you want to save the world or paint it blue, there’s probably a group at St. Mary’s College ready for you.
Enrich your academic experience through a study tour or a semester abroad. International internships are also an option. Your studies can take you anywhere you want to go: across disciplines, across cultures, across the world.

GREEN CULTURE:
We’re proud to be green. We grow our own organic produce and eat it in the dining hall. If we’re eating on the go, we take it in a green box. When we’re done, we compost and recycle the rest. We also build tiny houses, and our buildings are LEED certified: even the roofs are green.
