Police arrest gunman traveling to Pride Parade BY MATTHEW HALL Daily Press Editor
Santa Monica police arrested a man Sunday morning for explosives and weapons possession, preventing a potential attack at the West Hollywood Gay Pride Parade.

Olympic High graduates score scholarships BY JEFFREY I. GOODMAN Daily Press Staff Writer
There were speeches by students and educators, caps flung into the air and flowers cradled against gowns. There was a feeling of joy and a sense of curiosity about what’s ahead. There was even some cash awarded. Olympic High School held its graduation ceremony outdoors on its campus earlier this month, when principal Anthony Fuller and other officials celebrated the accomplishments of the 24 students who finished their work at the Santa Monica-Malibu school district’s continuation school. Those students made up less than half of the whole 59-member Olympic graduating Class of 2016, which also included 28 students from the Adult Education Center, four students from the off-campus learning center and three who completed their General Educational Development requirements. Olympic students received a total of more than $21,000 in scholarships,
according to SMMUSD spokeswoman Gail Pinsker. That figure includes $16,500 from the Assistance League of Santa Monica, which raises money primarily through its 15th Street thrift shop to support a variety of community programs, including educational scholarships. The local chapter of the national charity organization has awarded more than $830,000 in scholarships to more than 140 recipients since 2001, according to its website. Other organizations contributing money towards scholarships for Olympic students included the Association of California School Administrators; the California Continuation Education Association; the district PTA and administrator association; Edison Language Academy; and the Rotary Club of Santa Monica. Los Angeles-based artist and educator Karen Koblitz and former Grant Elementary School principal Alan Friedenberg donated as well. The June 1 graduation ceremony wrapped up a year of transition, triumph and tragedy at Olympic.

It was the first year of principal work for Fuller, who replaced Janie Gates at the helm following her retirement from the district last year. Fuller has been on staff at the continuation school since 2002. He joined the district’s new advisory committee on career technical education to weigh in on employment opportunities for students. Olympic this year was a beneficiary of Gwyneth Paltrow’s donation to Santa Monica schools, which was part of a coordinated effort by entertainers and other celebrities to fund teacher projects. The actress’ donation in March was expected to pay for a 3-D printer at Olympic, where science teacher Christa Hollis has worked with students to design small objects using sophisticated software. “It’s one thing to conceptualize an idea, it’s another to be able to actually hold your own prototype,” Hollis said at the time. The Olympic community in April mourned the loss of Mark Suminski, a

SMC student selected for chemistry award Santa Monica College (SMC) has announced that the American Chemical Society (ACS)-the world’s largest scientific society-has selected SMC student Carlos Vasquez as one of its ACS scholars. The ACS Scholars Program awards scholarships, renewable annually, of up to $5,000 to underrepresented minority students who want to enter chemistry or chemistryrelated fields. Vasquez is one of approximately 130 scholars selected from a large pool of applicants nationwide. Vasquez is transferring this fall to the University of California, Irvine (UCI). While he was accepted into UCLA and UC Berkeley, Vasquez says he chose UCI because he was selected to participate in its Bridges to Baccalaureate Program and the Minority Health and Health Disparities International Research Training (MHIRT) program. As a participant, Vasquez will be a paid research intern, working closely with an academic adviser and doing biomedical research at UCI. “The American Chemical Society congratulates Carlos Vasquez on becoming an ACS Scholar; we wish him the best as he continues his education and commend him for his dedication and hard work,” said Donna J. Nelson, ACS President. “Carlos is a fine example of the next generation of

scientists, who are critical to the U.S. maintaining its position as a leader in science.” A native of South Central Los Angeles, Vasquez went to the University of Chicago straight out of high school as an accounting major. But he dropped out half a year later. “I could not afford the tuition,” he says. “I was going to end up with $40,000 in student loan debt.” He decided he did not want to put himself-or his parentsthrough that. He returned to Los Angeles, and enrolled at SMC. He began by taking business accounting courses, but his life would be completely changed when he enrolled in a Chemistry 10 (Introductory General Chemistry) class taught by SMC Chemistry Professor Muriel Walker Waugh. “My eyes were opened up to how interesting chemistry was,” says Vasquez, who did not enjoy chemistry in high school. Because of SMC’s “fabulous teachers who have been so influential in [my] life,” he realized he wanted to change his focus and enrolled in organic chemistry classes instead. He even became a “supplementary instructor (SI)” leader, a student tutor who helped other students comprehend course material. “This young man has been a bright star in the Physical Science Department,” said Professor Waugh, who wrote a letter of recommendation to the ACS Scholars Program for Vasquez. “As my SI Leader and tutor, he guided many of my students to success. He is the one person I ask to teach students individually when they are the most confused.” Jamey Anderson, Chair of the SMC Physical Science department, said that Carlos “exemplifies the very best of Santa

If I was still at the University of Chicago, I would be in debt, and doing something that I do not love. I would not have discovered chemistry if not for SMC.” His future plans include either a PhD in Organic Chemistry, or an MD-PhD to become a physician-scientist who “does pure research, most likely on how drugs affect the human body,” says Vasquez. The ACS Scholars Program was established in 1994 to attract African American, Hispanic, and American Indian students considered underrepresented in the chemical sciences by the National Science Foundation to pursue careers in the field. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of criteria including academic record, financial need, leadership ability, and community service. For more information, visit www.acs.org. Time for an attitude adjustment? HAVE YOU NOTICED? HERE WE ARE LIVING
Ross Furukawa

in one of the greatest places on earth and everyone is copping attitude. You’d think in times of peace, prosperity and beautiful weather people would be happy, but that’s not the case. Last Sunday around 10 a.m., I’m driving north in the mid-city neighborhood on 16th Street approaching California Avenue. There’s a family in a dark, four-door sedan with Indiana plates creeping along at about two miles per hour in the left lane. “Probably a tourist looking for street parking because the Bagel Nosh down the block doesn’t have enough parking,” I’m thinking to myself. Indiana turns right as I approach the intersection. Across the street near Lincoln Middle School is a middle-aged man in scruffy shorts and a T-shirt out for stroll with a young boy who could have been his son. Of course, the man steps into the intersection with his young charge without looking right or left, oblivious to any traffic. I stop and wait while they pass then proceed north on 16th Street. “A******e!” I look around. “scruffy shorts and T-shirt” was shouting at me. My gut reaction was to respond in an appropriate and equally intelligent manner: My middle finger - also known as the “State Bird of California” went up. “F*** **u,” I shouted back. And, we both went our separate ways. But, I couldn’t help but think about how stupid the whole exchange was. Two total strangers at an intersection hurling invectives at each other just because the other person is there? Are we all wound up so tight that we acknowledge each other by grunting implied threats like pre-historic cavemen? What kind of person arbitrarily decides to scream profanity at a total stranger, and, better yet, how about that stranger even responding to such rank stupidity? On occasions like this (which seem to be coming much more common in the past months) I wonder if it even dawns on the aggressor that he (or she) may be setting into motion a road rage incident resulting in some innocent person getting the crap beat out of him or being shot to death? Naww. Requires too much intellect. These road rage incidents are attracting more media attention because they’re so pointless, ineffective and accomplish nothing. The responder on the other hand can’t possibly derive any self-satisfaction in calling an idiot “an idiot.” I don’t want to be cast as the reformer
who’s going to straighten everybody else out. It’s too big of a job, and those who would most benefit from an “attitude adjustment” wouldn’t appreciate it, anyway there are also jerks who will always be jerks. In this case, there was an adult male in a good neighborhood shouting profanity at a total stranger on a street corner, in front of a four or five year old child. What a wonderful example “T-shirt and shorts” set. What’s this child learning from this experience after he goes home and tells his mother and rest of the family that, “Daddy called some guy an ‘A*****e’ this morning.” As for me, after I got home, I mused over the incident for a couple of hours and thought it was worth a mention in this space. There was a time that such an exchange on the streets among total strangers would occur a couple times of the year. Although never totally justified, at least the shouting match followed a dumb move, or lapse of manners and judgment. Now, it’s hard to leave the house without getting into a war of words or confrontation with someone who is having a worse hair than you are. It’s becoming a weekly or even more frequent occurrence, Unfortunately, it does nothing for the quality of life in Santa Monica. The real loser in this short, sad story is an innocent little boy who learned from some adult without class or grace who should have known better about how to be a real jerk last Sunday morning. I think we all need to take a deep breath and just chill. Assuming that “angry people” are becoming more the norm here, these days, I don’t see anything that’s going to turn that around. There is no happy pill on the horizon and out city government and its policymakers are as agenda-driven as they ever were. The heck with what the public wants, it’s all about what they want. The citizens be damned. The frustration level mounts, people become more unhappy and dissatisfied with the way they’re being served - or ignored. Special interests are taking charge and we know what they want - benefits for their causes and conditions over the needs and the desires of the public. These special interests are already lying and misrepresenting the facts and issues as they relate to future development in the City. If voters don’t wake up and smell the coffee, we’re all going to find our future by the bay is going to be even more unpleasant as crowding increases and time goes by.

come under fire in recent years for the huge amount of plastic waste it generates at outdoor concerts and festivals each summer. The 2015 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, for one, generated some 679 tons of waste over just four days. Aside from their irresponsible disposal after the fact, these singleuse plastics are also fossil fuel-intensive to produce to begin with. But recent acknowledgement of this issue by the industry has resulted in actions by fans, bands and entire festivals. Musician Jack Johnson has led the charge on this initiative, championing the elimination of disposable plastics on his tour, as well as partnering with several environmental groups to found the Sustainable Concerts Working Group. This organization created a blueprint for making tours more sustainable, listing actions to take by both the band and the fans. Their website has a long list of goals, followed by specific actions to achieve them-for example, reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by switching to renewable energy sources, more efficient lighting and biofuel-powered transportation. Many other musicians are also working to green up their industry. The Dave Matthews Band has taken significant steps to neutralize its environmental impact via its Bama Green Project, which educates fans around the world about paths toward sustainability. The band travels in a biodiesel tour bus and eats locally. Pop icon Adele has publicly championed the charity, Drop4Drop, which provides local, clean water to impoverished areas of the world. Rock band Phish founded the group WaterWheel in 1997 to focus on clean water and urban gardening.
Meanwhile, U2 has worked closely with Greenpeace since the 1990s, helping them with protest campaigns from nuclear reprocessing in England to the destruction of forests in Russia. And punk rockers Green Day live up to their name by partnering with the Natural Resources defense Council (NRDC) to raise awareness about American dependence on foreign oil. While individual musicians have found success in mitigating environmental impact, some have also taken larger-scale actions. Dave Matthews, Maroon 5, Willie Nelson, The Roots, Sheryl Crow and others founded the Green Music Group (GMG) in 2004 to help change the industry as a whole. The group has four core principles with which they hope to incur a paradigm shift: create a community of environmentally conscious musicians and fans; facilitate “large-scale greening” of the music industry through touring, development and public service campaigns; give environmental nonprofits a megaphone for their cause; and position musical leaders as voices for change. GMG has already made 80 major tours sustainable while reaching over 10 million fans in just over 10 years. Music festivals are also starting to follow suit. Bonnaroo recently partnered with the Plastic Pollution Coalition to encourage attendees to bring their own reusable containers, rather than giving out thousands of plastic cups. The Outside Lands Music Festival only uses biodegradable containers. Other festivals have completely eliminated the use of plastics; instead offering discounted products in return for reusable stainless steel containers. With this trend gaining momentum every year, music fans around the world can be optimistic that the music industry will continue on this road to sustainability.

Presidential Primary Colors The presidential primary election season in the United States is a long one - longer than in any other nation in the world. Yet all good things (sic) must come to an end. This year, the end came via the June 7 California primary - and in particular in Santa Monica. As the polls closed later in California than in any other primary contest that day, Santa Monica’s role was both functional and symbolic: Symbolic, because MSNBC’s wall-to-wall election coverage and punditry was hosted outdoors on the Santa Monica Pier, literally at the edge of the country, signifying the close of a primary process that had crossed coast-to-coast; and Functional, because despite the delegate math, until Bernie Sanders gave his election night speech late that night at Santa Monica’s iconic Barker Hanger, no one knew how long the fight on the Democratic side would continue. LOCAL POLS SUPPORT DIFFERENT PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGNS
One of the measures of support for high level political campaigns are which local elected officials get behind them - and who supports them speaks much about the campaigns. In Santa Monica many local elected officials were divided between support in the Democratic primary for Sanders or for Hillary Clinton. At the same time, one of the themes of this year’s election - as well as in 2008 and 2012 under the ‘Obama coalition’ - are the changing demographics of the nation’s electorate, including the rise of the Latino vote. In Santa Monica, five of the 21 members of the City Council, School Board and College Board are Latinas or Latinos. Two of them were particularly visible in their support for different Democratic presidential candidates. COLLEGE BOARDMEMBER MARGARET FRANCO AND HILLARY CLINTON
On the Saturday before the June primary, Santa Monica College Boardmember Margaret Franco was invited to “A Conversation on Immigration” with Hillary Clinton, at Los Angeles Mission College in Sylmar (where her husband Monte Perez is president.) Clinton spoke to a small group of students and elected officials regarding her support for ‘Dreamers’ - students named after the DREAM Act, a bill introduced in Congress (but not yet passed) that would give permanent residency to undocumented students. (Some of those students are currently able to apply for temporary work permits, Social Security numbers and protection from deportation under Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, a program created by President Obama after the DREAM Act failed in Congress.) “It was a honor to be in the presence of Secretary Clinton, but more importantly I trust she will address the issues of Latinos, immigration, and disadvantaged others. I felt proud to see a woman who may become our next president,” said Franco. Joining Franco at the event to show their support for Clinton were U.S. Congressmember Xavier Becerra (D-Los Angeles) - who is rumored to be on Clinton’s short list for Vice President, California State Senate President Pro-Tem Kevin DeLeon, three Los Angeles Community College District Trustees and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti.
Sanders that night - on the very athletic field where De la Torre played linebacker and tailback as captain of the Samohi football team - because they viewed his personal story of growing up in Santa Monica’s underprivileged Pico Neighborhood and his rising to the role of a local elected official, as a victory of education over incarceration. Two weeks later, De la Torre penned an opinion piece in the LA Weekly “Why, as a Latino Progressive, I’m Voting for Bernie Sanders” “I am inspired by the success of the Bernie Sanders campaign in engaging both Latinos and an overwhelming number of youth,” wrote de la Torre. “Latino voters working in a multicultural and multigenerational coalition can become the most influential group in the most powerful progressive voting block ever assembled in California’s political history...we have a rare moment to support a candidate like Sanders, who has taken a principled stand on the issues that our families care most about, including immigration, higher education, and income inequality reform.” Joining De la Torre at the Samohi rally was Javier Gonzalez, Southwest Regional Coordinator for the Sanders campaign, who was also born and raised in Santa Monica. The two met in first grade at Santa Monica’s Madison School. Now they were playing big roles in a presidential campaign, at the very high school from which they both graduated. SCHOOL BOARDMEMBER OSCAR DE LA TORRE AND BERNIE SANDERS
Back in Santa Monica on Monday May 23, Sanders held “A Future to Believe In” rally at Santa Monica High School (Samohi), where current Santa Monica Malibu Unified School District Board member Oscar de la Torre was student class president in 1989-1990. The Sanders campaign chose De la Torre as one of the introductory speakers before
On the Friday evening before the June primary, Santa Monica’s Bergamot Station hosted a Hillary Clinton campaign “Get out the vote with President Bill Clinton” event. Santa Monica’s State Assemblymember (and former Santa Monica Mayor and City Councilmember) Richard Bloom was there. “It was a real thrill to unexpectedly receive a call from the Clinton campaign, asking if my wife Robbie Black and I would be interested
in joining former Los Angeles Controller and City Councilmember Wendy Gruel to “greet” former President Clinton before his speech that night,” recounted Bloom to me afterwards. “We were ushered into a room in Bill Turner’s gallery (which currently features an outstanding retrospective “Moses @ 90” of Los Angeles artist and painter Ed Moses) and then The President arrived. The four of us had a very relaxed conversation that had very little to do with politics. He told stories from the past, and I was able to tell him a little about the great art that surrounded us. The encounter lasted about 15 minutes, but the memory will last a lifetime.” Bloom and family first met then President Clinton in 1993 - long before Bloom contemplated even running for the City Council - when Clinton gave a speech at Santa Monica College. “Robbie and I waited outside with our sons Emmet and Zac, who were then about 5 and 6, and held hand-scrawled ‘Welcome to Sunset Park, Mr. President’ signs,” he said. “We hoped to get a glimpse of Clinton as he exited the event. In fact, he ended up spending a good deal of time shaking hands, and shook each of the boys hands and said ‘hello.’” Now more than 20 years later, Bloom’s rise from Sunset Park neighborhood activist to California’s state legislature led him to a private audience with our nation’s 41st president. Which Santa Monica neighborhood activist today might have that same experience, meeting an ex-president twenty years from now? Next: Part II of my primary election coverage: The Secret Service Comes to Santa Monica MICHAEL FEINSTEIN is a former Santa Monica Mayor (2000-2002) and City Councilmember (1996-2004).

ALI FROM PAGE 1
people, hang out and observe. He was very well-respected, and he had a fabulous personality. He was a larger-than-life figure to a lot of people.” Attwater’s memories came flooding into focus following Ali’s passing earlier this month. Ali, widely considered to be one of the most influential athletes in history, died June 3 at the age of 74 after a long bout with Parkinson’s disease. News of his death hit hard in Santa Monica as well as across the globe, with many current and former local residents recalling brief moments with Ali during his visits in town. Some remembered him stopping by the Main Street facility, while others recounted seeing him around the old Santa Monica Place mall or at book signings on Third Street Promenade. “It’s a shame,” said Attwater, who graduated from Santa Monica High School in 1977. “The whole world has lost a pretty fabulous celebrity.” Since Attwater worked for Muhammad Ali Professional Sports, she was well aware that the boxing star didn’t run the now-defunct company. But others weren’t. Harold Smith, a boxing promoter who befriended Ali, purchased the naming rights. Smith also ran the locally based Muhammad Ali Amateur Sports Inc. “The sweatshirts they wore were emblazoned with Muhammad Ali,” reads an archived Los Angeles Times article from 1981. The caps they wore read Muhammad Ali. The gym they trained in was called
Muhammad Ali. The only trouble was, Muhammad Ali had no official connection to the program.” But the name alone lured young boxers to Southern California. According to a Times article, Smith’s company arranged for 18year-old Washington state native Robert Shannon and other up-and-coming fighters to live rent-free in a Santa Monica house. The business also provided them with food prepared by hired chiefs. But those perks disappeared when Smith’s financial dealings were called into question. “The FBI was trying to find out where all this money was coming from,” Attwater said. Smith was accused and later convicted of embezzling $21 million from Wells Fargo Bank, a scandal that landed him in jail for six years. His business was shut down for good. “Everybody believed it was Muhammad Ali that owned it,” Ferman Knox, a trainer in Cincinnati who had prospects leave for the ill-fated enterprise, told the Times as the ordeal unfolded. “Now we know different.” But the Smith embezzlement case didn’t seem to tarnish Ali’s name or reputation in the long run. Attwater, who now oversees trademark compliance for Venice-based Mad Dogg Athletics, said she didn’t know Ali well but that he still had a powerful and lasting impact on her. “He did a lot of good for the younger people who were not as privileged as others,” she said. “Anybody that came past him, he paid attention to. The fact that he was so open and didn’t have an air about him was really refreshing. He just really seemed to love people.” JEFF@smdp.com

5 a.m. after Howell began knocking on random doors in the 1700 block of 11th Street. Heriberto Gomez, a lifelong resident who says he watches over the neighborhood, stepped outside at 3 a.m. Sunday and saw Howell’s white sedan parked in the wrong direction on the street. Gomez said Howell ran across the street and hid in bushes and overhanging trees prompting another neighbor to call the police. Police Chief Jacqueline Seabrooks issued several updates via social media saying Howell, 20, told officers he wanted to harm the parade. According to a press release provided by SMPD, local officers notified the Los Angeles County Sheriffs’ Department (LASD) Bomb Squad who assisted in removal of the material. SMPD and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are collaborating during the on-going investigation. The local arrest came hours after an attack on an Orlando gay nightclub that left 50 dead and dozens more injured, but local officials said there are no known connections between the two cases at this time. LASD said there were no specific or credible threats received by law enforcement for the greater Los Angeles area.
The campus is undergoing major renovations following the school board’s approval last month of a $5.6-million contract with Chatsworth-based Novus Construction. Officials have said they hope the project is complete before the start of the 2017-18 school year. JEFF@smdp.com
“The Department’s Operation Center is open and actively managing events surrounding the Gay Pride Parade and Festival in the city of West Hollywood. Hundreds of uniformed deputies are on-duty to ensure the safety of all those participating in this event. Out of an abundance of caution, we have enhanced our security presence for the event and have tactical units at the ready to prevent and respond to any circumstances,” read a statement issued by the Sheriff ’s Department. “A male was detained in the city of Santa Monica this morning who was in possession of weapons and other dangerous material. Any possible nexus with this individual and the Pride event in West Hollywood is being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.” If anyone has any information regarding the Santa Monica arrest, they are asked to call Detective Dereck Leone (310) 4588949, Sgt. Maury Sumlin (310) 458-8437 or FBI Spokesperson Laura Eimiller (310) 420-6441, during normal business hours. If suspicious activity is seen, the public should call the Santa Monica Police Communications Center at (310) 4588491 or call 911 if the situation is an emergency. Associated Press Writer Amanda Lee Myers and Daily Press writer Jeff Goodman contributed to this report. EDITOR@smdp.com

Sudoku Fill in the blank cells using numbers 1 to 9. Each number can appear only once in each row, column, and 3x3 block. Use logic and process of elimination to solve the puzzle. The difficulty level ranges from (easiest) to (hardest).
GETTING STARTED There are many strategies to solving Sudoku. One way to begin is to examine each 3x3 grid and figure out which numbers are missing. Then, based on the other numbers in the row and column of each blank cell, find which of the missing numbers will work. Eliminating numbers will eventually lead you to the answer. ■ As Libya’s central bank struggles to stabilize a halting economy, it could surely use the estimated $184 million in gold and silver coins that Moammar Gadhafi minted but left buried in an underground vault in the coastal city of Beyda, but the treasure is inaccessible because central bank officials don’t know the lock’s combination (as The Wall Street Journal reported in May). The latest plan is to have a locksmith squeeze through a 16-by-16-inch hole in the outer vault’s concrete wall and once inside to try his hand. If unsuccessful, the government’s bureaucrats likely cannot get paid, but even if successful, various anti-government factions

However, as AdWeek reported in March, the agency David Buenos Aires apparently solved the problem with an explicit TV public service announcement featuring a model (facing the camera, topless) showing exactly how such an exam should go, e.g., where to press down, where to squeeze. The secret? The model was an overweight man with generous-sized “manboobs.”

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19) CANCER (June 21-July 22) ★★★★ Reach for the impossible, because if ever it were to be a possibility, it would be now. News from a distance encourages you down a different path. Understand what your expectations are and how they can interfere with the joy of the moment. Tonight: Home is your castle.
★★★★ You suddenly might be able to pick up on others’ perceptions, specifically one person. How much you share of what you are receiving is up to you. You know when someone is done with a conversation. At that point, choose to let it go. Tonight: Paint the town red.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) LEO (July 23-Aug. 22) You’ll need to listen to the message again. Ask questions if you are confused. It is possible that there is a hidden message here. Share what you are picking up on, but don’t be surprised by any denial you hear. Tonight: Hang with friends.
★★★★ You will be a lot happier if you can relax and just note your feelings, which might be quite intense. In fact, you could be picking up a whole series of feelings about different matters. Jot them down and, in a couple days, look them over and evaluate them. Tonight: Feed your mind.

★★★ You could be surprised by a sudden and
or dear friend would react in a certain way, but then didn’t. Perhaps you didn’t understand this person’s reaction and feel confused. In any case, you’ll open the door to a new vision or a different way of thinking. Tonight: Count your change.
unexpected feeling. Know that you don’t have to act on it. In fact, it would be preferable if you wouldn’t, for everyone’s sake. Give yourself a few days to mellow out and rethink some of the information you’ve heard. Tonight: All smiles.

JACQUELINE BIGAR’S STARS The stars show the kind of day you’ll have: ★★★★★Dynamic ★★ So-So ★★★★ Positive ★ Difficult ★★★ Average
This year you might find it difficult to make a clear decision or even understand some of the more complex issues happening around you. The problem is not one of intelligence, but rather one of awareness. Your mind often drifts to other ideas, thoughts and people. Recognize the need to get feedback from others. If you are single, enjoy the moment, but make no commitments. Time is your ally. If you are attached, the two of you often misunderstand each other and ask for clarification. Refuse to stand on ceremony. Also, maintain your sense of humor. LIBRA knows how to charm you.
