The project is a creation of a music academy on the neighbourhood of Yungay, in the centre of Santiago. The main aim is to provide a one-unit solution to the music issue on this centre, which is very fragmented. Working with the nearest public spaces such as the park, the idea is to integrate it into the project and the community of Yungay.

The chosen location has the important characteristic of being placed between two protected historical heritage zones, where multicultural festivities are held all through the year and used as a platform for exhibitions and music festivals. With this in mind, the Project would generate a greater area of cultural influence, incorporating the existing context- and creating an academy with double access through it.

The strategy is to create a link between two zones with cultural values, through music spaces, including an open presentation space in the centre, technical classrooms and recording studio. It is a contribution to the arts and culture for the community.

The principal grid projects the historical zone, resulting in the Project as an input of constant aerial light on the main route.

The exchange Semester in Milan was about the creation of a City Theatre and Mocca Museum in New York City. The project had to be related with each other to create a bigger unit on the bank of Hudson River to include and connect the public spaces like the High Line Park. The location was a privileged zone in New York, but currently was being used for industrial use. This location can add new connections to High Line and Broadway Street incorporating City Theatre and Mocca museum, creating a potential urban joint.

The design´s main aim was to create a dynamic path, linked with a complex public space through open and closed spaces, with different environments, making an incubator of new ideas, trends and talents.

CONCEPT As a starting point the morphology of Manhattan was analyzed, recognizing all the qualities of the zone: Local strategies: -Existing railway line -Shadow study on the immediate context -Connections and access for the project -Bank of the river, and the use of docks

- Identify the lack of nearby large green areas, and create a major re creational area - Different heights of the immediate context - Distant and immediate views - Breaking the orthogonal grid of Manhattan, with a large space that opens into a diagonal (based the concept off the Broadway grid) - The project recognizes the existing flow tracing on the context, and the design was based to extend those flows to the project by pedestrian walkways.

Urban strategies: Seeks to understand all the layers, and the formation surrounding the immediate context of the proposed site:

pose was to improve the existing conditions and provide new work spaces for the University.

This Project was based on a real competition from the Pontificia University Catolica of Chile, to design the next postgraduate building in the Architecture and Design campus.

The main aim of this competition, was the relationship between each course of study inside the campus, and the different scales of public spaces.

The exact location was given, and each architectural proposal was to give very strong consideration in relation to neighbours, students and teachers, joining all parties together into an integral project. The pur-
