Meet the Editor!!
Hey SMKC, It’s me, Lexi, with yet another update on what’s been going on in my life. We’re already halfway through September, wow… it doesn’t even feel real. Since I last updated you back in July, I visited some of my family in Florida right before school started, and the most important thing that has happened for me is that I started my senior year. I feel like I just started my freshman year at Saint Mary’s. I painted my parking spot themed to the Broadway Musical, Beetlejuice, which I have an intense passion for, I went to Senior Sunrise, which required me to get up at 4:00 in the morning(something I didn’t like doing at all), and a couple of weeks ago I saw the the musical, Wicked, with my friends involved in theater program. I am also starting to fill out my college applications that I will have to submit by the end of November. Anyways, that’s what I’ve been up to, soaking up every moment that I can before I won’t have it a year from now, and making amazing memories with my friends. Enjoy the September Newsletter!

September General Meeting
Hey Key Clubbers!
On September 6th, I was invited to a Key Club meeting that was held in Mr Sousa’s classroom. The intention of this meeting was to inform and introduce all of the members to this new year of Key Club. This meeting started off with the club leader, Yuki Hinayon, introducing us to our Key Club leaders of 2024. We then ended up doing an icebreaker game that was similar to “Rock, Paper, Scissors”. Yuki then announced the winner of the Key Club raffle that was being held during club day. I won a Care Bear plushie from that raffle. Finishing things off, we then went on to answer questions for a small activity called “Free Rice”. This was a small charity that gave 10 grains of rice to the UN World Food Program for every question we got correct. Overall, the meeting was really fun and I’m looking forward to what the rest of this year has.

September RTC
Hey Key Clubbers! I attended Region Training Conference this year at West Campus High School in Elk Grove, and this year the event was very special for our division. We interacted to learn about Key Club values through informational workshops held by student presenters across the region. Lunch and
break times allowed for fundraisers between divisions to take place, forming connections and helping us to support one another. Finally, after the last informational workshop, each division met in a Spirit Training Conference to prepare for the upcoming spirit session, in which divisions competitively exhibited the choreographed chants they learned in order to win the Region 16 Spirit Stick. Our division was chosen as the winning division of the spirit session!

September Meeting + Pie the Board
Hii Key Clubbers!!
My name is Gabriela Mandujano, and for this key club’s meeting I got to be a part of pieing the board. For only just $2 you could buy a plate of whipped cream and be able to throw it at the board. I was able to pie one of my friends, and making sure to bring a little extra money just in case. And with everyone else going around and having a good time being able to pie their own friends that were a part of the board, who were able to put this small event together and have a fun beginning of being a part of key club, i think everyone had an amazing time :D!
