MARY SMITH CONOVER AWARD SMITH’S COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD The highest honor we can bestow on our employees is the Mary Smith Conover Award. This award is given annually to the agent who is most involved in his/her community. To us, our greatest accomplishment is not the number of homes we sell or the records we set, it’s the impact we make in the community. The award is given to the associate whose philanthropic efforts stood out for the year. The Mary Smith Conover Citizen Award honors the founder of Smith & Associates Real Estate and keeps the philanthropic intention at the forefront for every associate.

54 YEARS OF GIVING

OUR APPROACH TO COMMUNITY GIVING Smith & Associates Real Estate community giving program is designed to build strong partnerships with non-profit organizations, civic organizations, and other local organizations that are striving to make a difference across Tampa Bay. Our giving program focuses on five elements: 1. Charitable giving and in-kind donations to non-profit organizations and community institutions. This support is provided through Smith sponsorships and Smith marketing. 2. Grants to non-profit organizations Our grant funding strategy focuses on supporting non-profit organizations that align with Smith’s three giving pillars: • • •

Housing Community Vibrancy Positive Education and Mental Well-Being

This support is provided through the Smith & Associates Real Estate Foundation, a donor guided fund established under Community Foundation Tampa Bay.

11

OUR APPROACH TO COMMUNITY GIVING CONT’D 3. Involvement in local civic, arts, and cultural organizations We value the efforts of our sales associates and employees to give back to the causes and organizations that are meaningful to them. To support their passions and dedication, we look to align donations to these non-profit organizations where possible and to provide support for volunteer engagements 4. Inspiring Philanthropy Charitable giving is more than just a way to strengthen our communities and support causes dear to our hearts. Philanthropy is a central part of Smith’s mission, values, and legacy. We strive to ensure this legacy is strengthened and expanded by inspiring others to engage directly in their communities to drive positive impacts and outcomes.

12

GIVING PILLARS HOUSING To improve safe, diverse, sustainable housing options and access in the Tampa Bay region. These projects will include support of low-income housing, special needs housing, rental assistance programs and homeless shelters.

COMMUNITY VIBRANCY To improve local communities through access and appreciation of arts and the diversity of culture; flourishing local environmental resources; and collaboration among residents. These types of projects will include arts and culture projects to engage the community and celebrate its diversity; resiliency and environmental sustainability enhancements; and local community-based projects for community improvement and increased inclusion.

POSITIVE EDUCATION + MENTAL WELL-BEING Promoting diverse and inclusive environments that meet individuals where they are developing and emphasize growth and mental wellness mindset in encouraging them to connect with their passions and potential, cope with the normal stresses of life, and progress in their academic and work careers.

OUR IMPACT “Smith & Associates has been a major sponsor of The Studio@620 for over 5 years. Smith’s monetary and in-kind support has been instrumental in The Studio@620 pursuing its mission. From hosting fundraising events to leadership through the Board of Directors, they’ve been a true benefactor for our organization.” - The Studio@620

“On behalf of the Arts Conservatory for Teens (ACT) and the thousands of students and families, we are grateful to serve and impact, thank you so much. Smith & Associates Real Estate Foundation is a beacon of light and hope. Your organization and its leadership exemplify love, compassion, and inclusion for all humanity. The Arts Conservatory for Teens’ strategic focus is to provide access to high-quality transdisciplinary education in preparation for the workforce, namely the creative workforce (i.e. performing and visual arts, and creative technology) to students who otherwise would not have an opportunity to experience pre-professional training from top professionals in various disciplines in the creative workforce. Because of the generosity of your organization, our students are afforded access to discover a clear pathway to career success. You make a difference daily in the life of our students and we are deeply grateful that you chose to support the Arts Conservatory for Teens (ACT) mission and its expansion in response to the increased demand for our curriculum.” - Dr. Alex Harris, Cofounder, and President/CEO 14

“The monetary and advisory support offered by Smith & Associates Real Estate Foundation since our inception has allowed the Tampa Arts Alliance to establish itself as a positive force in Tampa Bay’s artistic renaissance within a very short time. Initially the primary focus of the Alliance was to spotlight the arts in Tampa which has built momentum for cultural investment throughout the city, in both the public and private realms. As we continue this work, the Foundation is supporting an initiative to deepen regional relationships to share best practices and resources. This big picture commitment to Tampa Bay’s vibrancy is one reason the Smith & Associates Real Estate Foundation is an appreciated leader.” - Michele Smith, Executive Director “Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay has a mission to create and support one-on-one mentoring relationships that help youth achieve their full potential. In 2021, BBBS matched 2,100 children with adult mentors; and their goal for 2022 is to match 2,600 children. For the last 12 years, Smith & Associates has been sponsoring an Autumn Pumpkin Party for the “matches”. This is an opportunity for the big and little brothers and sisters to spend a carefree afternoon carving pumpkins and creating jack-o’-lanterns, playing games, having lunch, and engaging in other fun activities. They even have a chance to “play” music with Noisemakers, a very unique band designed for kids and led by Gabe Whitney. The “Bigs” tell us every year that the Pumpkin Party is their favorite event of the year. And we are so happy to be part of it!” - Isabel Caruso, Big Sister / Smith & Associates Real Estate 15
