January courses available to help boost job prospects A limited number of places are available at the College on full-time courses starting in January. The full-time Entry Level and Level 1 Vocational Studies courses are aimed at young people aged 16 to 18 who are not currently in education, employment or training and want to improve their prospects. Karen Dobson, Principal and Chief Executive at NULC, said: “College offers a very different environment to school; we’re here to support people in achieving their goals whatever their starting point.” On the Entry Level course, students can choose from the following subjects: Early Years, Health and Social Care, Construction, Hair and Beauty, Sport and Leisure, Public Services and ICT. Meanwhile the following pathways are available on the Level 1 course: Early Years, Health and Social Care, Public Services and Animal Care. The College currently operates a number of schemes where students can apply for financial support and also sells bus passes at a reduced cost, in a bid to make studying at college more accessible. A number of Apprenticeship vacancies are also on offer, meaning young people can study while earning money at the same time.
