Six candidates are vying for one open As the June 2nd, 2015 Special Election day gets closer, City of Carson residents are faced with making a very serious choice. Few are really informed about the candidates and what is really driving this election. This election is about control. Carson faces several challenges in the next couple of years. These choices will determine the city’s future. If the City of Carson can bring in the proposed football stadium; it will not only bring jobs to the City of Carson, but to other neighboring communities as well. The revenue promises to bring a new futuristic city with many amenities and growth, thus bringing property values to height’s unimaginable. Let’s look at the candidates: Alex Cainglet

He is a good choice in relation to keeping the Legislative body representing all the sections of Carson. Councilperson, Elito Santarina recently announced that he would not be seeking another term after his 4-year term expires. This leaves the door open for Cainglet, a natural leader who is well respected in the community.

Rita R. Boggs

Emmanuel Chuma Obiora

She has run in almost every election in the last 10 years. As a Candidate, her primary concern is with the environment and the excessive spending in the City of Carson.

This Candidate holds the title of the best man currently for this specific council seat. He has a long history in public service and 32 years of experience working as an Auditing Supervisor with the IRS and the Board of Equalization. He has served in these positions with integrity, honesty, transparency and sustainability. With a background as an Accountant, Realtor and a business man in the City of Carson, this makes him the most qualified for this seat.

Joseph Gordon

Joseph Gordon, a businessman, human relations manager, and former military transportation officer, said he would advocate for an increased utility-users’ tax only if it includes an expiration date and if the revenues are spent to “get the city’s fiscal house in order versus just becoming a part of normal spending.” Jawane R. Hilton

Jawane Hilton is an Educator and Senior Pastor. Born and raised in Carson, he also founded his church right here in the City. Some say Mr. Hilton is an extension of the Mike Gipson and the Lula Davis Holmes Machine. He appears to be too young and inexperienced to understand the complexity of the city. Stephen John Randle

Randle is a Commissioner and minister. Repeated efforts to contact candidate Randle for his views on the council race were unsuccessful.

Here is what Emmanuel Obiora had to say if elected: “I want to thank the residents of Carson for their consideration. I am married and have four grown successful children. I support the NFL stadium project for the City of Carson. The City of Carson is a prime location and the project would bring jobs and revenue that would significantly benefit area residents. I would be honored to serve as the next Councilman for the City of Carson. I have the knowledge and years of experience working with the budgets of some of the biggest corporation in America. By entrusting me with this position, we will work together to establish and maintain a vibrant and economically strong City. Thank you again for your consideration. Now, let’s Vote and let’s get down to work!” Learn more at http://www.emmanuelobiora.com/
