IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM SMooth Jazz NeWs

More than a month after publication of the February-March 2020 issue of Smooth Jazz News, the spread of COVID-19 became a global pandemic which affected events that were featured and advertised in this edition. This included the cancellation of the Boscov’s Berks Jazz Fest (which has been postponed until April 9-18, 2021) and the Seabreeze Jazz Festival (which is rescheduled for April 21-25, 2021), where we had planned to have a booth, Free CD-with-Subscription promotion and bonus distribution of Smooth Jazz News.

For 20 years, we have never missed a publication. So, it is with great sadness to report that we are forced to temporarily pause publication of Smooth Jazz News beginning with the April 2020 issue. Please know that it was an extremely painful decision to make, and the most heart-wrenching communication I have had to deliver as publisher of Smooth Jazz Newss. But we feel it is the best and most appropriate one given this (temporary) health and economic crisis the entire world is enduring.

Therefore, we are amending some of the pages in this digital edition to reflect updated information as of March 24, 2020.

As we monitor this situation, which remains fluid, through the Center for Disease Control (CDC) website (https://cdc. gov), directives from credentialed medical professionals and scientists, as well as governmental and public health mandates, we are socially isolating and awaiting the day when it is safe to resume publication of Smooth Jazz News.

We sincerely apologize to everyone for this temporary inconvenience.

Please check our Facebook page often for updates, and should you have any questions, please feel free to email us at smoothjazznews@aol.com.

Our hearts go out to those affected, medically and financially, by this illness. Stay safe and be well.

Sincerely, Melanie Maxwell Publisher and Founder, Smooth Jazz News
