here’s a shadow that looms over 10600 Preston Rd. It cuts into every inch of the fresh grass on the Quad, travels the tile stairway that leads to the second floor of Centennial Hall and rests on the shoulders of the Path to Manhood statue. Some feel its strangling grip, but few are strong enough to speak out about it. Around campus, people seem to side-step the shadow, always secretly hoping it doesn’t wrap its fingers around them. Most never truly understand the severity of the struggle felt by the people who are trapped. The shadow is just a part of a deep-rooted and hidden issue at our school.
