The Comanche Trace community is buzzing with activity…Christmas parties, our annual Golf Shop Sale, the Christmas Golf Cart Parade and more. October and November were filled with member events, golf tournaments and parties. There certainly is never a need to search very long for something to do. As our weather cooled off in October, the golf course was overseeded, and it’s a beautiful sight to behold. We are featuring a new look to some of the bunkers after the renovation was completed last January, so the course is shining brightly. Construction and growth are still the hot topics at Comanche Trace, and we are so pleased that so many of you find the lifestyle appealing. Tell your friends about us! As Comanche Trace continues to grow, membership also builds on that growing foundation! 24 new members have signed up at Comanche Trace this year, and we anticipate the growth to continue to be strong in 2012. The cooler weather is here and it’s time to break out the long sleeves and sweaters and start enjoying some cooler weather. This fall has been jam-packed with events, including our LGA Member-Member, Ladies Club Championship, Men’s Member-Guest, The Futurity and the MGA Championship. The LGA Member-Member was a two day eclectic format played on the Valley and Hills. The teams were divided into two flights and each flight was awarded for the top two places. Coming in first place in the first flight were Debbie Wade and Maria Swann, following in second were Cheryl Wood and Nancy McKeen. In the second flight coming in first place were Polly Rickert and Camille Luppino, and in second place were Missy Hunt and Vicki Downing. Congratulations to all the teams for their great play. The Ladies Club Championship was hosted in October and was a two day gross event for the Championship flight and a two day net for the first flight. After round one Anne Hearn had the lead with an opening round of 85 through some gusty wind conditions, with Cheryl Wood and Trish Butler following a couple shots behind. In round two Cheryl Wood played outstanding with a score of 84 giving her a two day total of 171 and becoming the new Ladies Club Champion. Anne Hearn finished in second place along with Trish Butler taking third. In the first flight Helen Herd and Marian Ezell were within one shot after round one. On the second day Helen shot a net 75 giving her a two day total of 149 net. Marion Ezell came in second place followed by Carla Barlow in third place.
The Futurity was played over the first couple of days in October and the weather was beautiful. We split the field into three flights with a payout for the first three teams in each flight. In the Championship flight, 2009 champions Al Fields and Ben Bender won first place, while Mike Lewis and Randy Reinagel took home second. Finishing with a tie for third were Joe Gosmano and Ted Metcalf and Tim Dewell and Bryan Petska. In the first flight, coming in first place was Jimmy Locke and Paul Urban. Finishing in second was the team of Don Downing and Mike O’Shea and in third place H.T Hyde and Lin Barker. In the second flight, coming in first place was John Swann and Dennis McCarty. In second place, the team of Glenn Andrew and John Hall, and in third position was Leo Clark and Josh Mooney. The overall Men’s Futurity Champions were John Swann and Dennis McCarty who finished the event for a total Quota of +1. Congratulations John and Dennis for your great play! The all-inclusive three day event was a great success and I would like to thank Titleist and Footjoy for being our gift sponsors this year. We crowned a new member for the MGA Championship this year. Steve Hultquist won the gross division and the net division during the MGA Championship. Steve shot rounds of 76 & 74 for a total of 150 to win the gross, and finished first in the net division with a 74 & 72 for a total of 146. Great play Steve, and congratulations for both victories. I would like to thank all the volunteers
who helped during the Champions AT&T Tour Qualifier this year. The qualifier was set to be held in San Antonio but due to drought conditions they wanted to ensure best qualifying conditions and Comanche Trace was their first choice of venue. We had some of the top Champion players trying to qualify for 4 spots to the new TPC Marriott JW Resort in San Antonio. The weather on Monday was beautiful with calm winds and fast greens. Jeff Hart shot the low of the day with a 66. Robin Byrd and James Mason shot a 67 and there was a two-way playoff for the last two spots at 68. The course was in beautiful shape and the comments from the professionals were “What a beautiful facility Comanche Trace has.” The players also commented on the generosity of our membership and would like to thank all of the volunteers that helped. We will finish this year with some new champions. I would like to thank all of our members for participating in all the events that were hosted this year and I am looking forward to next year’s events. SHAPING UP FOR THE NEW YEAR WITH INTERVAL TRAINING By Jane Garbish
It’s December, the Holidays are upon us, and how many times have you already said, “I don’t have time!”? Too much to do, not enough hours in the day… There’s no doubt that this time of year brings challenges unlike the other 11 months. We need to do our normal activities as well as fit in extra shopping, entertaining, holiday cooking, out of town guests, etc., etc., etc. No wonder we’re stressed! Something will just have to go! What will it be for you? Will it be your healthy eating habits? Christmas time brings such tempting treats – how can we resist? Or will it be your exercise routine? (You do have a routine, don’t you?) You can just shove that routine aside for now and save it for the New Year and its obligatory resolution making, right? Well, you could, or you could avoid the typical December weight gain and begin January in better shape than ever. “How can I do that”, you may ask, “when I just don’t have time?” I have just the answer for you – INTERVAL TRAINING. I’ve touched on this topic in several of my previous articles, but I’d like to go into a bit more detail. Let me give you three good reasons why you should continue reading: Get a more effective workout in less time. Slows your aging process. Increases your rate of calorie burning. Got your attention? 12 LIFESTYLE december/january 2012

WORKOUT IN LESS TIME There is nothing wrong with walking an hour nearly every day. In fact, if that’s your current routine, congratulations for your dedication! You’ve already mastered the first requirement for success – commitment. But let’s see what you can do to increase the effectiveness of your workout. Interval training is defined as short bursts of higher intensity work followed by periods of rest or low activity. Unless you are currently training for a long distance endurance event where extended periods of aerobic activity are necessary, studies have shown that shorter bouts of exercise that focus on increased heart rate are more effective in overall physical conditioning. By including some interval training in your cardio routine, you could easily cut your workout time in half, while increasing its effectiveness. SLOW THE AGING PROCESS Our muscles need oxygen for fuel. As we age, however, our hearts beat slower and pump less blood to those muscles, and our lung capacity also decreases. What happens? We grow weak and lose our stamina. Research has shown, though, that regular aerobic exercise can decrease biological age by 10 years or more. (Shephard
2008) When we increase the cell production in the blood, more energy is produced. Interval training is one of the most effective ways to exercise at a high enough intensity to significantly increase oxygen demands and thus slow the aging process. (Wright & Perricelli 2008) As opposed to exercising at a constant pace, interval training is exercise with brief periods of high intensity, forcing the body to adapt in ways that slow aging. Just as REST is important for the body to adapt, INTENSITY is the key ingredient to cause change. Both rest and intensity are the keys to interval training. BURN MORE CALORIES There’s a thought process that working out for longer periods of time in a moderate intensity heart rate zone (50 – 65%) will lead to more fat loss. Really, however, adding more time to a lower intensity workout only makes your body more efficient at that intensity. In order to get our bodies to their most efficient level, however, higher intensity exercise must be introduced. The higher intensity causes the body’s metabolism to increase, thus enabling us to continue burning calories at an increased rate even after the exercise session is completed.
The First Steps
GETTING STARTED WITH INTERVAL TRAINING
how can i incorporate interval training into my current routine? The easiest way is to choose your favorite cardio activity and introduce intervals into it. For example, walking: Walk at a normal pace for a 10 minute warm up. Then, using a watch, speed up the pace and walk as fast as you can for 30 seconds to one minute. Cool down for the same amount of time at your normal pace. Repeat that sequence for at least 5 minutes. Prefer the Eliptical machine or a stationary bike? Warm up for 10 minutes at an easy resistance level. Then, increase the level by at least 3 for 30 seconds, followed by another increase of 3 for 30 seconds. Revert back to the second level for 30 seconds followed by another 30 seconds at the difficult level. Do this for at least 5 minutes. Always finish any workout by cooling down at an easy pace for at least 5 minutes. should i do this every time i work out? No. The interval workout should be done 2 to 3 times a week. Do your constant pace, slower cardio workout the other days. i’m worried about my knees. will this be too much impact? If you tolerated walking before, this should not create more impact. If high impact activities are taking a toll on your joints, try low impact machines such as the Eliptical or the stationary bike.
i don’t have a heart rate monitor. how can i tell if i’m getting my heart rate in the proper zone? There is another way to measure heart rate activity without a monitor. It is called Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE). On a scale of 1 through 10, 1 would be how you feel sitting still while 10 is how you feel doing an activity that’s sustainable for only a few seconds. With interval training, your RPE during the 5 minutes should vary from 6 to 8. i’m just starting to exercise. is this a good choice for me? Always check with your physician before beginning any exercise program. With his or her okay, find a certified personal trainer to customize a program to fit your needs. The proper program can start where you are now and take you to that next, healthy level. My best wishes to all of you for a blessed holiday season and a happy and healthy 2012. Their passion for flying has spanned more than 40 years. Ed earned his pilot’s license in 1968. A few years later, Marcia took a “pinch-hitter” class to learn emergency procedures. She came home and announced, “I learned to land. Now I want to learn to fly.” She earned her license, they acquired their first plane, and their eagle’s eye view widened their horizons. Ed has logged 5,000 hours of single-engine time. “Our ‘magic carpet’ has taken us to almost every state, including Alaska” he says. “We’ve flown to Mexico and Canada, the Bahamas, Hispaniola and the Virgin Islands. Our first choice for transportation is the plane, and it has carried us to remote areas where we’ve camped under the wing and also to our largest cities. We love to travel, and the journey is often as good as the destination.” Ed’s journey began after WWII when his father bought a small newspaper in Oklahoma and instilled in his son a love for the business. At age six, Ed had a newspaper “route” which consisted of one customer, the owner of a local vegetable market. For the next 15 years, he shadowed his father at work, learning every facet of the business, and began writing news stories in high school. “My dad was a wonderful
mentor. You could say I have printer’s ink in my blood,” he says. “I loved my career.” Between semesters at the University of Oklahoma, Ed worked in London and motorcycled through western Europe and behind the Iron Curtain. That trip sparked a wanderlust to see the world. He and Marcia married the summer after they graduated from OU, and Ed received orders for military service in Germany. While Ed spent the next two years as a tank company commander, Marcia and a friend traveled all over the continent. “Our guidebook was ‘Europe on $5 a Day’, but we didn’t have that much money, so we managed on about $4 a day. On our first anniversary, Ed was on tank maneuvers on the Czech border, and I was in Monte Carlo!” laughs Marcia. “Since then, we’ve not been overly sentimental about our milestones, but 45 years together speaks for itself.” When Ed left the Army, he and Marcia moved with infant son John to Colorado and daughter Christy was born a year later. “I had good jobs working for newspapers,” says Ed, “but we wanted to own a business. Our dream came true when we bought into a small semi-weekly newspaper in Edmond, OK. The LIFESTYLE december/january 2012 19

early years were a struggle – I often had to collect receivables before we could make payroll. We were competing in a market with the large metro daily just a few miles away, so our focus was always local. We believed that a strong newspaper was vital to building a better community. I wrote a front-page editorial almost every day for 30 years, usually about Edmond-specific issues.

“We were lucky to be in a fast-growing town with a staff of loyal and talented employees, and our business model soon produced a respected daily newspaper. she was in that role,” Ed jested. “Seriously, she was instrumental in our success because I never had to worry about the accounting or financial issues. As publisher I oversaw production, news and advertising, and she handled all the HR and administration. She’s also a good writer, and I’ve never known a better speller. We worked as a team every day.”

Ed lobbied before Congress and spearheaded the effort to build Arcadia Lake, a much-needed urban reservoir in drought-prone Oklahoma. By the late 1990’s, the publishing company had grown, but neither of the Livermore children had interest in joining it. John and Christy had launched successful careers in other fields. “When
an attractive offer came for our business, we decided to retire,” Ed says. “At the time, we thought it might be too early, but in retrospect the timing was perfect. Because of the internet, the newspaper industry has declined dramatically in the last ten years. I wish it weren’t so. Good newspapers are trustworthy sources of information and watchdogs of government. They should

be positive forces in a community, urging it forward. Newspapers should demand transparency in local government and hold it accountable. I still miss the community involvement.” “We loved Edmond and our friends there,” Marcia said, “but we wanted to live in a warmer climate. We visited golf communities all over the country, from coast to coast. I was thrilled when Ed liked Kerrville. I’ve loved the Hill Country since I was a Waldemar camper at age 12. For ten years we had a “half-life” here while we lived May-October in a rain forest in North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains. Ed played a lot of golf there, and I welcomed every opportunity to hike with friends among ferns and waterfalls and 200-ft trees. We often came home with blue lips from eating wild blueberries. On rainy days there was always a bridge game or a good book or a dinner party – such a different pace from our prior high-pressure business life. Now we’ve put parentheses around those halcyon days and are happy to be in Kerrville year-round.” The family enjoyed many years of backpacking, fishing and skiing in Colorado. “We still have a long bucket list,” says Marcia. “We’ve hiked above Machu Picchu, explored ruins in Mexico, stood awestruck on the battlegrounds of Normandy and visited
friends in Australia. We joined our neighbors Betty and Frank Boynton on a wonderful auto trip in New Zealand. Three weeks in Argentina and Chile wasn’t enough – we’d like to go back there. There’s still such a lot of world to see! Only problem is, we miss so much activity when we’re away from Kerrville.
grandparents.” Ed frequently volunteers for Grace Flight missions, which provide transportation for those in need of medical care from small towns to urban medical centers. He was recently selected to serve on the Kerrville airport board. “Since we sold our house in NC three years ago,” says Marcia, “we’ve faced many timeconsuming challenges, but now we’re eager to volunteer more, entertain more, exercise more, and enjoy our new home. We never imagined how much our five grandchildren would enhance our lives, and we cherish every minute with them.” Marcia watches the sunrise every morning and thanks God for another day. “We are blessed to be here,” she says. “Every time we make the turn into Comanche Trace, it feels good to be home.”

More than 140 Comanche Trace members gathered at the Club for the Fall Member Mixer. The music offered by DJ Jake St Pierre complimented the drinks & hors d’ oeuvres providing an energetic atmosphere. Trevor Hyde, President of Comanche Trace, gave members a very positive update about our club growth, and took a moment to say thanks to all of the club leaders. Joe shared his collection of Kerrville photos detailing its history from the late 1800s on. Joe explained how to verify and establish the age of vintage photos. His vast knowledge and research of Kerrville history have earned him the nickname of “Mr. Kerrville”. Afterward, the members & guests had a chance to purchase Joe’s book “Home: Photographs of Kerrville” and get it personally signed by Joe himself!

As a result of Don’s personal relationship with Bobby Shelton, original land owner, he is able to relate history, stories, and anecdotes about Bobby & Comanche Trace, known by very few others.
This event is an excellent way for new members to learn something special about their new home. Several members & guests attend every year to learn more about the interesting history of Comanche Trace. It’s great to have a friend & resident historian like Don to share his knowledge with us.

Within three days, the LGA and MGA were on board and joined the 9ers to plan the event. The committee members were Judy Coombs, Lisa Self, Lynne Schuneman, Maria Swann, Terri Weatherly, Jennifer Phelps, Cindy Gosmano, Trish Butler, and Len Scott.

The day’s activities included a golf scramble, luncheon, and silent auction. Golf prizes were awarded for 1st through 5th place. Winners of a closest to the pin challenge won a gift certificate to a local restaurant. Winners of the putting contest received raffle tickets for a chance to win the grand prizes of a lady’s golf bag and a man’s travel golf bag. All participants received a goody bag with breast health information and other Rally items. The silent auction, open to all residents carried donations by Comanche Trace members, staff, and local businesses. “Our success can be attributed to a super committee of dedicated individuals. In addition, the enthusiasm and support of Trevor Hyde, Sherri Jones, Tony Johnson, Colin MacKay and their staff contributed to our success” stated Judy Coombs,

Chairperson. “We also thank the residents and businesses who donated 34 Hole sponsorships.” The mission of Rally for The Cure is to empower people to join the fight against breast cancer by providing a platform for them to educate their family, friends, and community on the importance of early detection. Comanche Trace golfers are proud of their first Rally for The Cure Event. Because so many of our residents played in the tournament, came to the luncheon, bid on auction items, and bought Rally flags, we were able to donate over $10,500 to Susan G. Koman for The Cure for breast cancer research. This is quite an accomplishment for the first event. The mission of Rally for The Cure is to empower people to join the fight against breast cancer by providing a platform for them to educate their family, friends, and community on the importance of early detection.
61 members participated in the 2011 “Take Me Home” Road Rally on October 11th. Everyone enjoyed an afternoon of driving to different locations and concluded their trip with an exclusive viewing of a fantastic selection of classic cars in Kerrville. Gary & Kay Clymans along with Rob & Linda Pitcher won the 2011 Road Rally. After the event, all of the participants made their way to the Club for dinner and participated in a silent auction & raffles to raise money for the Cailloux Humane Society of Kerrville! The Rally was organized by Lloyd & Ingrid Painter & James & Francie Mans, whose efforts helped to produce such a successful event!

as Illinois and as far east as North Carolina before looping back around through the Deep South. While exploring the Hill Country after being new to town, I stumbled upon an unexpected find that was well worth the drive. Camp Verde General Store captures your attention immediately with a two story colonial building that breaks up the rolling country side. It immediately grabs your curiosity due to the large metal sculpture of a camel
in it’s parking lot, whose name I later came to know as Arthur. Camp Verde invites you in with tempting smells coming from their restaurant, so make sure you bring an appetite. Their restaurant serves lunch from 11-3 pm and is open seven days a week except for holidays. If it’s a beautiful day outside take advantage of their patio
and enjoy the scenery of the Hill country that never gets old. The menu offers salads, burgers, and multiple styles of sandwiches along with the choice to build your own sandwich. During lunch, take the time to read about the incredible history of how Camp Verde began and don’t forget to save room for dessert. After lunch, the real fun begins. If you are anything like me than your interest was piqued during lunch by seeing all the amazing items for sale. You are
surrounded by such goodies like jams and jellies, unique cookware that you don’t find in just any store, and amazing art from wall to wall. Even more surprises await you upstairs, so don’t forget to venture up to the second floor. Before you leave, make sure you check out the nostalgic candy store on the first floor so you can take home some delicious treats with you. The Comanche Trace Men’s Golf Association The Comanche Trace MGA was formed in September 2006 to provide a venue for male golfing members of The Club at Comanche Trace to get together several times a month for some fun and competitive golf. The MGA organizes regularly scheduled golf events on three Wednesdays and one Saturday each month (with a few exceptions). The format for the first Wednesday is standard, while the formats for the 2nd and 3rd Wednesdays vary. Occasionally, due to course conditions or other factors, the “Wednesday Game” may be played on another day of the week, or even at another club. Starting times are 9:00 during the warm months (April - November) and 10:00 during the colder months (December - March). Entry fee for the Wednesday events is typically $10 per player.
1st Wednesday Individual Stroke Play / Ringer 2nd Wednesday Pick-Two Partners (P2P). You may pick your own 3-man team or ask the pro shop to help find teammates. 3rd Wednesday A-B-C (pro shop picks 3-man teams) In addition to the weekly Wednesday events, the MGA also sponsors one Saturday event per month. The format of these events is different each month, and is usually different from the Wednesday events. Entry fee for the Saturday events is typically $20 per player. The Annual Red Blue Tournament This is a Ryder Cup-type event. This tournament honors members who have
passed away, and American soldiers and first responders who fight and die for our country. President’s Cup The President’s Cup is a match play event played over several weeks during the summer. Players are put into flights of 8 according to their handicaps. This is a double-elimination tournament. MGA Championship The MGA Championship is an individual stroke play tournament played each year in October. The event is flighted by handicap, with flight winners, plus an overall gross and net champion. The overall champions will have their names engraved on a plaque displayed in the Comanche Trace clubhouse. The 2011 Gross and Net Champions were was Steve Hultquist (he won both categories this year).

The McLaughlins have always loved Kerrville, but now that they have a gorgeous Tony Roberts custom home, they couldn’t be happier. When long-time Houston residents Dave and Jan began looking for the perfect place to retire seven years ago, they didn’t have to look far –they knew they’d feel right at home in the affluent Comanche Trace neighborhood. “I still pull up in the driveway and think, wow
this is actually my house,” says Jan, an LSU graduate originally from Kentucky. “I am so happy here; I am literally overjoyed every time I come home.” Dave, a Missouri native who does commercial work for GE Lighting, agrees, “Being here is like our own slice of heaven. I would have to admit my favorite part of the house is the back porch, but there is absolutely nothing about this house I don’t love.” After purchasing a lot right on the golf course, which was a must for Dave, the McLaughlins waited several years before pursuing a builder. Upon meeting Tony Roberts, however, they knew immediately they had found the right man for the job. “There was a level of trust right from the beginning,” Dave says. “We had seen other homes Tony built and liked his style, but we had absolutely no experience with building a custom home. He was the first guy we talked to and we never interviewed anyone else. We just instinctively knew he was the builder we wanted to go with.” The McLaughlins say it took about a year for their house to be constructed and they began moving in the beginning of March. “We were amazed at how easy the process was. We truly felt like we were working as a team, collaborating with Tony and his crew. We can’t say enough about architect Mark Eubank and Tricia Byrom, who helped us with the interior. Plus, we so appreciated how they respected our budget and didn’t try to encourage us to stray from it, as we have heard many builders are guilty of.” With a grown daughter in New York and
FEATURED BUILDER only the couple’s two dogs Mojo and Bennett to keep them company, Dave and Jan say their 2,715 square-foot, one-story home is what they call right-sized. “We are aware that our home is one of the more modest in the neighborhood, but that’s the way we like it,” the McLauglins agree. “We don’t have a need for a lot of space and the upkeep of a larger home is just not how we want to spend our retirement.” At the heart of the McLaughlin’s two bedroom, two-and-a-half bath Hill Country home is a great room with wood flooring and vaulted ceilings lined with timber wood. Four hanging lights center on the room above a beautiful granite countertop and make for the perfect use of vertical space. Plus, the bar, complete with comfy stools so guests can visit while Dave and Jan are cooking, make for a definitive separation of the great room and kitchen. Jan, who has served as a social services director for Harris County for many years, especially loves her custom maple cabinetry, kitchen island and walk-in pantry. “Oh, what can I say, I just love the kitchen,” she says. Opposite the kitchen is a prominent limestone accent wall with fireplace and hearth, with an archway on one side that leads to the guest bedroom and an entryway to Dave’s study on the other. The dining room, to the right of the front entryway, is nestled into its own corner with privacy walls that allow for a more intimate dining experience.
Just off the kitchen is a study that leads to the master bedroom, where Jan enjoys relaxing in her favorite chair. A magnificent master bathroom decked in Tuscan-style tiling includes an inviting spa-style bathtub, spacious his and her closets and separate sinks. Perhaps one of the home’s greatest features is the sweeping view seen from any vantage point that faces the backyard. Rolling hills, lush
landscaping and a vibrant green fairway, Dave says, will keep him enjoying the outdoors for many years to come. “I love the windows in this house –they’re everywhere. Because I’m such an outdoorsy kind of guy, I appreciate that I can soak in the scenery whether I’m indoors watching television or outside hitting a few rounds.” Dave and Jan say they will enjoy the many activities offered in Kerrville and look forward to getting to know their neighbors. “We love the attitude of the people around here,” Dave says. “Everyone is so friendly and laidback. We have felt welcome since the moment we moved in.” After more than twenty years of wedded bliss, Dave and Jan are looking forward to twenty more, spent enjoying the fruits of their labor by taking in all that Comanche Trace has to offer. “It might sound silly, but when the house was finished, I was sad,” Jan laughed. “We had so much fun building this place. Tony Roberts and his team felt like family when it was all over with and for some time after we moved in, it was like I went through a grief process. But now, Dave and I are loving every minute of our new life here and we are so grateful that we get to enjoy such a beautiful home in the Hill Country.”

The scenic Texas Hill Country provides such a beautiful setting for the Comanche Trace community. The house I am taking a look at today is located in the center of it all. As I walk onto the front porch, it takes a long time before I go through the massive iron scroll front door because I am perusing the porch. The ceiling is a rustic wood treasure. The stone façade and brick detailing around the windows are so well done. Once I finally get through the front door into the very spacious entryway, I see a large stone fireplace and can just picture that huge Christmas tree I have
always wanted to show off in my foyer. I just love the custom tile floor art. What a perfect spot! Speaking of large family gatherings – there is a dining room and a large breakfast room – a wet bar and a big kitchen overlooking it all. I can already taste the Thanksgiving turkey and dressing – I love the smell of pumpkin pie, don’t you? It is so nice to have travertine floors throughout the house – no more yelling at the dog for coming in with muddy paws on my carpets. These floors look so cool and grand.
I can already feel the serenity. The kitchen has very nice stainless steel appliances and pretty granite countertops to set off the custom knotty alder cabinets. There is a long granite bar for guest seating and a casual place for snacks. Speaking of knotty alder, the great room has a whole wall of built in shelving. Lots of rooms for TV, treasures and books. The breakfast nook is amazing with the tall windows and a two story tower with even more windows at the top – a wonderful place for my morning cup of coffee – I can see the golf course from here and the pretty hills surrounding this corner of the world. The master bedroom suite has two closets, two bathrooms, a built-in desk, two pretty hammered copper sinks, a large shower and tub perfect for bubble baths. I have earned this haven! That second bath with a door from the back porch is perfect for when we build that pool we have always wanted in the back yard. There is so much space in the backyard, we can design the
pool any way we want. Speaking of back porch- this covered one is big enough for some nice seating for our family gatherings. My husband is the best griller I know and he loves to show off while he feeds our guests. The porch provides yet another perfect spot for morning coffee or evenings watching the moon come up. Great time for a glass of wine to finish the day. The study is such a pretty room with lots of windows and light -- great space to work on those projects and keep up with managing the household. There is plenty of room for my son to get his homework done. The other two bedrooms have plenty of room for kids or guests. I like that they are all the way across the house from the master suite. This gracious home has all of the qualities we are looking for in Comanche Trace. The convenience to the club house, pool, tennis, walking trails and just going into town to buy groceries just can’t be beat. You should come and take a look for yourself.
