GOLF

By Tony Johnson

We have some great golf events lined up in the next few months and we anticipate a great turnout for each of them. The first event of 2011 was the called The Big Cup, and was a great success. The cup was actually an inch larger than a standard USGA hole cup. We wanted to make the event fun and see if members could shoot lower scores with a larger cup. The winners of each flight were; Flight 1 – Sanchez & Fierst; Flight 2 – Wilson & Miller; Flight 3 – Mitchell & Bumpus; Flight 4 – Spear & Matey Jr.; and Ladies Flight – Butler & Lipe I look forward to growing the event 14 LIFESTYLE APRIL/MAY 2011

each year. The next big event will be The Brute, held June 4th and 5th. This is a great Match Play Challenge where each two-person team will play 5, nine-hole matches over two days against the other teams within their flight. Watch for sign-ups in the golf shop. Back by popular demand is Twilight Couples Golf. Twilight Couples Golf is designed for couples to play golf and have dinner with other couples in a fun, social environment. These are held on Friday evenings at 5 pm, on April 1st and 29th, and May 20th. Players of all handicaps are welcome

to participate. The Hole in One Club, established in 2009, has been a tremendous success. When a member of the Hole in One club makes an ace at Comanche Trace, each of the other members will be billed $5.00. The money will then be placed into the Credit Book account of the person who shot the hole-in-one. We currently have 115 members enrolled, and you must register in advance to be included. Congratulations to Toni Manchester, John Harrison, and Don Henderson who have hit it big so far in 2011. Enjoy your rewards and good

luck this year to all of those enrolled. The touring professionals will be at Comanche Trace just as Spring is hitting the Texas Hill Country. The PGA tour has revamped their schedule so that the Valero Texas Open will be held the week following The Masters. Qualifying rounds for the PGA Valero Texas Open will be hosted by Comanche Trace again, on April 7th and 10th. With the excellent condition of the bentgrass greens and the new bunker renovation, the touring professionals are looking forward to playing at such a highcaliber club.

A CLOSER LOOK at the BUNKER HILL REMODEL

Spring is here and we are excited to have some warm weather coming our way. The bunker renovation was a huge success during the winter. We began the project on December 4th and opened all three nines in late February. The bunker renovation on the Valleys and Hills consisted of many different elements. The existing sand and drainage pipes that were first installed in 1999 were completely removed. We also reshaped and reduced the size of most of the existing bunkers on both courses. The last thing was to replace the original sand with sand called SurePlay, known for its exceptional color and quality. Thanks to Scott Parker and his crew for the excellent job they did on the renovation. If you haven’t made it out yet, take a look at some photos of the renovation. Just imagine how beautiful it will be when the grass greens up. We can’t wait to see you on the improved Valleys and Hills!

FITNESS

HOW IS YOUR GOLF FITNESS? By Jane Garbish

18 LIFESTYLE APRIL/MAY 2011

It’s April, the weather is beautiful, spring is in the air, and if you’re a golfer, you’re probably well on your way to taking advantage of the beautiful Hill Country weather. A big draw for many of us is close proximity to The Club at Comanche Trace. Whether you live here now or are aspiring to move here in the near future, golf may be a key reason. As golfers, many of us have spent countless hours and dollars on our equipment, our lessons, and possibly relocation to that perfect place to focus on our favorite hobby. But how many hours and dollars have you spent on your golf fitness? And why does that matter? You may find you’re taking lesson after lesson with minimal results, or perhaps you’re always after that perfect new club that’s going to finally change your game. But let’s face it, lessons and new equipment will continue to be ineffective if your body does not have the ability to execute the biomechanics required for a good golf swing. Without a well conditioned body, one of two things will eventually happen: 1) You will continue to strive to perfect the textbook swing that your body cannot perform, finally resulting in injury; or 2)You will compensate for your inabilities and settle for a mediocre swing and a less than satisfying game. A proper golf swing puts a great deal of unnatural stress on a body. It is necessary to have an adequate amount of flexibility, stability, mobility, balance and strength to continually execute that swing. And what happens to us as we age?

That’s right – we begin to lose ground in all those areas. We become less flexible. Our joints lose their range of motion, limiting our mobility. Without work our core muscles get weaker, resulting in less stability. Are you as balanced as you used to be? Probably not. And by your mid40’s, you will begin losing about 1 ½% of your muscle mass each year if you do not participate in regular strength training. All that sounds like we might as well hang up the clubs before we reach the “golden years” and find a different hobby! Think about the lifestyle that the majority of Americans have lived in the last half century. Much of the day is spent in a “flexed position”. In other words, we’re sitting down a lot! The result of that positioning is tight chest muscles, tight hip muscles, weak glutes, and weak abdominals. For many people that has resulted in slumped shoulders and forward posture. Is it possible to make even close to a 90 degree shoulder turn with tight chest muscles and rounded shoulders? Definitely not! Will those weak glutes and tight hips allow proper lower body stability? Again, definitely not! The biggest favor a golfer can do for their game is to embark on an effective fitness program which focuses heavily on flexibility. The muscles need to re-learn how to stretch, thus allowing for range of motion to again take place. With proper stability and core strengthening exercises included, the true golf swing will again be possible. Does that mean the cardio workouts and strength training are not necessary? Certainly not! Cardio exercise is essential for weight control and heart health, and lightweight strength training needs to be included to prevent loss of muscle mass and strength. But as we age, focus on

flexibility will enhance not only your golf game, but your everyday life activities. This training philosophy has been adopted by the Titleist Performance Institute. They have realized that a good golf game entails more than professional golf instruction. Their Certified Golf Fitness Instructors are trained to identify and help golfers overcome any physical restrictions limiting their potential. Their physical screening techniques and exercise prescriptions can customize fitness programs specifically for their clients. Check out their website at http:// www.mytpi.com. Do you need to travel to California to get this expertise? No! I have recently completed certifications as a Level 2 TPI Certified Golf Fitness Instructor and would be happy to evaluate your golf fitness level. Swing deficiencies identified by your teaching pro can be addressed and improved by the proper fitness program. Whether golf is your passion or a relatively new hobby, your primary goal should be to do it not only well, but safely. Don’t get caught on the sidelines with preventable injuries. Safeguard yourself before those happen. Make golf, and fitness, a lifetime passion!

Jane Garbish holds Certifications as a Personal Trainer, Fitness Specialist for Older Adults, and Biomechanics of Strength Training Professional from the Cooper Institute in Dallas, Texas. She recently completed certifications as a Level 2 TPI Certified Golf Fitness Instructor and would be happy to evaluate your golf fitness level.

The biggest favor a golfer can do for their game is to embark on an effective fitness program which focuses heavily on flexibility.

DAYTRIPS

One of our favorite Texas Hill Country drives is the Willow City Loop! It is always on our agenda for spring for at least one trip and often we make it there twice in the spring and early summer! Willow City Loop is an easy 1 hour drive north from Kerrville on Texas Highway 16. Located approximately 13 miles north of Fredericksburg, this beautiful drive can easily be coupled with a visit to other attractions around Fredericksburg and Llano. Willow City Loop offers wonderful and dramatic Hill Country views. These views are often made even more incredible by an abundance of native wildflowers. The Loop is found east off Texas 16 onto FM1323 . Upon reaching the left turn (north) to the Loop, visitors are in for 13 miles of one dramatic vista after another. Early in the Loop from the top of Texas hill, look left to the valley floor below. Often a shimmering lake of blue is visible. Upon closer inspection, the blue of the lake is

literally thousands of Texas Bluebonnets , so vast in numbers and so thick, one imagines sitting beside it with a cane pole trying to snag the big-un who surely is swimming in the azure waters. In wildflower season, Bluebonnets , Indian Paint Brushes, Poppies and Firewheels cover the landscape with large fields of Bluebonnets often dotted by Poppies and purple Wine Cups. Every turn offers another field of color, another high vista or a flowing spring fed creek. Hawks, whitetail deer and many other native Texas wildlife inhabit this area and are often seen. Look for the ”friendly” burros on the left with the youngsters fuzzy heads beckoning a friendly scratch. Early morning and late evening drives are a photographer’s delight with the lighting from the low lying sun providing spectacular colors and shadows. Contrasting and vividly colored wildflowers provide great opportunities to capture a keepsake

photograph. One needs to remember in peak wildflower season, Willow City Loop can be a bit crowded. Relax and enjoy the leisurely pace which results from many visitors enjoying this special place. (hint.. there are NO restroom facilities along the route, so just plan ahead!) Even in those years when the wildflowers are not in the abundance we all enjoyed in 2010, the Willow City Loop drive is worthy of a visit, it is in my opinion one of those drives every Texan must have on their “bucket list”. Its grandeur and special views make it a must see! After completing the drive, Llano is only a few mile north on Texas 16 and there one can enjoy true Texas bar-b-que from Coopers. A visit to Coopers is always a fantastic way to cap a beautiful drive through the grandeur of the Willow City Loop. LIFESTYLE APRIL/MAY 2011 23

Augie & Bonnie Bering Living the Sweet Life in Comanche Trace Story by Mary Lee Gowland Photography by west vita

Sitting together on a loveseat in their Comanche

Trace living room, with their sweet 15 year-old Border Collie Casey at their feet, it’s apparent that Bonnie Floyd’s cousin Tracy had the right idea when he

suggested she go on a blind date with his friend Augie Bering IV, back in the late 60’s.

LIFESTYLE APRIL/MAY 2011 25

HISTORY The Bering family success story began in 1846 when August Bering and his brother Conrad emigrated from Germany. They began a lumber business and opened the first lumberyard in Houston, calling it A. Bering and Bro. The business thrived. Eventually Conrad went into manufacturing, opening a sash and door company, while August retained the lumberyard. In 1940 August Bering Jr. founded Bering Lumber Company. As a little boy Augie Bering IV loved being with his dad and grand dad at the lumberyard, the smell of fresh wood, the buzz of the saws. When Junior passed away, three years later, August III took the reins and relocated the business to Westheimer and Potomac. From an early age Augie IV knew he would continue the family business. He also shared his dad’s appreciation for the outdoors. “My dad loved the Hill Country. Every summer we’d drive to Leakey and stay at the Prade Ranch, a dude ranch. I spent a lot of summers on horseback,” remembers Augie. “In 1961 dad decided he wanted his own ranch, so he bought land in New Ulm, near Roundtop, and got into the Brangus cattle business.” The house on the New Ulm ranch was built in 1842, as evidenced by a Historical Marker. In 2000 the Berings had the house lifted off its foundation and relocated on the property, where it was remodeled and restored. “In the 1970s cattle auctions were held where Riverhill is now. As time went on my dad became more interested in golf, and less in raising cattle. So he built a house on the 18th hole of the fairway. It was a young community then.” He and Bonnie have fond memories of golfing with the family and knew that they, too, would want to have a vacation home in the Hill Country. When his parents passed away and their house at Riverhill was sold, Augie

and Bonnie started looking around and discovered Comanche Trace. BUSINESS GROWS In 1952, at the Westheimer and Potomac location, a hardware department was opened. Over the next two decades, at the request of customers, more products were added, such as “a little corner for housewares,” which grew into a gift shop. Business continued to grow and expand, which necessitated more space. Then, in 1971, the unforeseen occurred. Augie IV, had been happily married to Bonnie for two years and they had a brand new baby son,

Bering’s has always had the most loyal employees - Bonnie Bering August V. Things were looking bright. After a long day at work, running the business and overseeing the construction of an office over the gift shop, he had returned home. He and Bonnie tucked the baby in his crib and retired to their bedroom. The phone rang. Bering Lumber Company was on fire. The flames must have been seen for miles around – all that wood and paint. What the flames didn’t destroy, water did: nearly every screw, nail and metal widget rusted. The most touching part of the whole experience, as Bonnie tells it, is how customers reacted. “The

day after the fire so many people showed up and told us they wanted to pay their bills. They were concerned that the records had gone up in smoke. They begged us to rebuild.” Luckily, when Augie IV got the call from the fire department, he “threw the kid in the back of the truck and grabbed the accounts.” Now a major decision needed to be made. Augie III sat down with his son. Home improvement stores were beginning to crop up. Lumber took up a lot of space. It was almost as if divine providence cleared the slate and let them rise from the ashes as the new and improved Bering’s Home Center. They were only closed two weeks. Employees cleaned and sold what could be salvaged, and the resurrection began. “Bering’s has always had the most loyal employees,” says Bonnie. “Some are third generation. Augie recently was asked to give the eulogy for an employee who passed away. He was only fifty. It was very sad. The staff set up a schedule so everyone could leave work for a few hours and attend some part of the funeral. It really is one big family.” After the fire, August III “stepped back from the business and became an advisor,” recalls Augie IV. “He had been the president of the Texas Lumbermen and the National Hardware Association. For him lumber was a big deal.” The Berings have always relied on their customers to drive the business, from the first request to have a little corner for housewares to a suggestion from an employee that they open a coffee bar. “Way before Starbucks,” Augie IV remembers, “I thought, coffee? But she was right!” Now all sorts of delicious foods are offered and every single one of them has been taste-tested by employees or family. “Even cleaning items!” says Bonnie. “If we don’t like it, we won’t sell it. The store isn’t big enough to sell everything, so we only have what works.” In the 1980s a second store was opened “inside

lauded his writing. When it came time to choose between the two most prestigious writing programs in the country, he chose University of Montana - over University of Iowa - because he liked the terrain. Between college and joining the family business he was a world traveler and had, as his mother says, “many harrowing adventures.” Wondering how family, friends and employees distinguish between all the Augies, Bonnie says, “At the store they call Augie IV “Senior” and Augie V “Junior.” Growing up they could tell by the tone of my voice who I was talking to!” Now a father, Augie V and his wife Mia named their son Westley. He’s now 10 ½ and has a sister Brigit, 2 and baby brother, Michah. Having a two-location business that is open ten hours a day, seven days a week requires the most trustworthy staff. All employees undergo random drug tests. Some have been

with the company thirty years. “The Bering Way means loyal customers and loyal employees. Loyal to us as a family and loyal to each other,” says Bonnie. Bering’s now features a Baby Department, which carries what they call “grandmother clothes”, the sort of clothes a grandmother likes to buy for her grandchildren. When a children’s wear store closed, the Berings hired the manager. Now the Baby Department is the fastest growing department in the store. And when a nearby stationary store closed, the Berings hired the entire staff. They now carry lines such as Crane, and have their own printing department. “The Berings embrace change,” says Augie. LOVE STORY A native of North Carolina,

Bonnie attended the University of Georgia and became a teacher, teaching third grade, Spanish, math. “I have an analytical mind,” she says, “Augie is the creative one.” At Tarelton State University Augie was on the Wainright Rifles Drill Team, which was one of only six units chosen from 300 Texas teams, to march in President Kennedy’s inaugural parade in January 1961. Twoand-a-half years later, stationed on Paris Island in South Carolina, “I was marching again, when we heard the news of Kennedy’s assassination.” Augie had a “very short lived” career as a rodeo bull rider on Tarleton’s first rodeo teams. He transferred to Texas A & M and majored in business. He joined the Marine Corps Reserves and anticipated being shipped to Vietnam but by then President Johnson had stopped sending troops. When his dad said, “I need you,” Augie joined his father in business, a decision he has never regretted. Bonnie’s dad had one caveat to Augie marrying his daughter: she must finish college. Asked how her family felt about her falling in love with a young Texan, she says, “My family loved Augie!” They were sad to see her leave North Carolina, but knew she had chosen the right man. They saw how much he

cared for their daughter and appreciated his “can do attitude”. “We had a ranch in Junction,” Bonnie recalls. “Augie took me out there one day and said, ‘If you were to build a house, where do you suppose you’d put it?’ The next time I went out there with him, the house was under construction!” For now, the Bering’s primary residence is in Houston where they are active in the community, particularly the Houston Arboretum and the Nature Conservancy. Augie is on the board of the Better Business Bureau. They recently sponsored a fundraiser for the Rice School which provides education for children with Down and other syndromes. They have recently purchased two lots in Comanche Trace, across the way from their modest weekend getaway, that will have plenty of space for children and grandchildren to visit. “Used to be we’d come out here from Thursday to Monday,” says Augie. “Now it’s more like Thursday to two weeks from Monday!” We’re certainly glad they’ve chosen Comanche Trace.

1st Friday Wine Share GARY & PEGGY STORK INTRODUCE

TO COMANCHE TRACE

by sherri jones

The wine flowed

and conversation was refreshing as hundreds of Comanche Trace members and Kerrville residents shared all types of wine under the beautiful setting of an evening Hill Country sky. The March 1st Friday Wine Share was held in a setting that could have easily been in Italy or France, but was hosted by Comanche Trace at their attractive welcome center with the shimmering waters of the Comanche Trace lake in the background. This event, held the 1st Friday of every month, was the brain-storm of Gary & Peggy Stork who have seen participation grow steadily since the their first event. Comanche Trace members and residents enjoyed the opportunity to share their unique lifestyle and setting with fellow Kerrville residents. Several residents took the opportunity to commute to & from the Wine Share in their golf carts, thus emphasizing just one of the features of life at Comanche Trace. This unique setting for the Wine Share was decided upon after several

conversations between Gary, Peggy and me. It was felt that most attendees would very much enjoy the opportunity to enjoy Comanche Trace. I also received wide support from members for hosting the event in their community’s backyard. After almost two hours of renewing old friendships and making new ones,

Dream

BUILDER

A TOUR OF HOMES WITH ARCHITECT GARRETT HARMON S T O RY B Y M A RY L E E G O W L A N D

Garrett Harmon has a straight-forward philosophy that serves him well as an architect: “Instead of imposing my ideas, I really listen to my clients. It comes down to communication, and listening. Do they like to entertain? Do they cook a lot? Are they midnight snack people? In which case I’ll put the kitchen near the bedroom! “You can create a congregating space – in a kitchen if you want your guests to participate – or in a different room. And if they don’t know what they want, I try to help them.” EARLY CAREER Originally from Lubbock, Texas, Garrett received a Bachelor of Architecture Degree from Texas Tech. He spent three-and-a-half years working for an architect in Breckenridge, Colorado. “It had a tremendous impact on me,” he says. “It was a great experience.” He managed horses in the summer and skied in the winter. The summers were spectacular, with the highest temperatures in the mid-eighties. “But you had to endure nine months of winter, for that three months of summer. Come March and April I was ready for grass and flowers! I was in a funk. I thought, “I can’t do this anymore. I need the

outdoors!” He had the opportunity to design and build a house in Mineral Wells, Texas (50 miles west of Fort Worth). He acted as General Contractor and did tile, framing, everything. “All architects should have this sort of experience.” He realized that no matter how good a craftsman one is, the real talent was managing people, the huge team it takes to build and finish a structure. “So now I stay on the drawing board side.” WORKING WITH CLIENTS “When things go wrong, it’s usually tied to a break down in communication.” If lines of communication are not kept open during the process, then the builder and home owner will just want to finish up and be done with it.” Some clients enjoy being part of the entire home-building process so much, that they will build multiple houses. About half of his clients have chosen their builder; for those who have not he is able to find one. Most of the builders and designers in Comanche Trace get their work through referrals. Asked about the strangest things clients have

requested, Garrett says he has incorporated secret doors and passageways. Because of the Hill Country’s beautiful views, library towers, or observation towers are popular. Some clients want a “safe room”. One wealthy client who had received kidnapping threats, actually needed a fully bullet proof house. “No matter what,” says Garrett, “I look at it from the clients’ point of view. I know they won’t be happy unless they get what they like.” If a request is unreasonable, or not feasible, he will explain why and how it affects other decisions down the line. City inspection takes place through the entire construction process. Toward completion there is a “punch list” that the builder and owner go over together, to catch any imperfections. Regarding remodels: these can be more difficult than starting from scratch, particularly when restoring older homes. “ They tend to be more of a challenge, but I find them the most rewarding.” For example, an old German home in Fredericksburg that was originally built in 1860, had many add-ons and re-dos. “I had to basically

PLAN NOW TO ATTEND THE TEXAS HILL COUNTRY

AT COMANCHE TRACE

48 LIFESTYLE APRIL/MAY 2011

By Reggie Cox

The eight homes featured in our Tour of Homes this summer are entering the homestretch to be completed and ready before June 24-25 and July 1-4. It is important to start your planning to be here. The homes range from a Tuscan Village home to several classic hill country and Tuscan estate homes to a lovely French Country home. All eight of the homes on this year’s Tour are custom private homes. Since none of these homes are for sale, it will be the only opportunity to view these beautiful homes and to check out builders and their skills on a single day. A few of the homes under construction are shown in the photographs. As you can see, variety and quality will be the order of the day. Builders put a lot of extra effort into making sure that their entries into the Tour of Homes are great examples of their work. They make it easy for you to envision your own home here in Comanche Trace. When you are touring these homes take careful note of how well the designers and builders capture the stunning views here with the

placement and proportion of windows. Talk to them about how you can achieve the dream home you want to build. Builders will be in the homes throughout the Tour. This year our Tour will support the Public School Foundation with a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales. The Public School Foundation’s purpose is to involve the community in providing funds for programs and educational experiences that do not receive funding from the school district or State of Texas. It is important to note that hotels fill up quickly in the summer in Kerrville, so plan ahead and make arrangements soon to be here for The Tour. Tickets are available from our website www.comanchetrace.com. The website also has complete information and photographs of the Tour Homes. Check it out. Tickets are also available at the Sales and Welcome Center at 2801 Comanche Trace Drive (830-895-8505). The next issue of Lifestyle will also be our Tour Book so watch for it. COMMUNITY

BARK FOR

Life

BARK FOR LIFE is a fun and exciting way for humans and their dogs to join in the fight for cancer research. Canine companions represent unconditional love, joy and loyalty to mention just a few of the ways they enhance our lives. This year “Team Comanche Trace” was ready and anxious to participate in The American Cancer Society’s “Bark For Life” fund raiser. Our goal was to have EVERYONE at Comanche Trace who has a beloved puppy or has lost one to join us. We had a table set up along with our Comanche Trace flag and we really enjoyed walking in the parade together with our 4-legged companions to fight cancer. We had a good turnout and our flag bearer lead the way. Last year Comanche Trace raised almost $500.00 for the cause and we wanted to double it this year. We didn’t double it; we TRIPLED it and then some! Thank you to all those who contributed! Be sure to look for “Team Comanche Trace” at the “Relay For Life” and if you didn’t make it out this year, join us in 2012! Information on these events can be found at www.relayforlife.org

PET PROFILE

Jager & Luke 58 LIFESTYLE APRIL/MAY 2011

Names: Always King of Hearts CGC (call name Jagermeister or Jager), and Always Luckenbach CGC (call name Luke). Breeds/Ages: Both Jager and Luke are Standard Schnauzers. They are full brothers, but almost 2 years apart. Jager is now 4-1/2 and Luke is just 3. Tell me how you chose their names: The “Always” in their registered names comes from their breeder in Austin, TX. Her kennel name is Always Standard Schnauzers, so every one of her puppies is registered with the kennel name first and then in alphabetical order according to which litter they are born. Our guys came from the K and L litters, therefore King of Hearts and Luckenbach. We chose the name King of Hearts because his mother is Ch. Always Hearts Are Gonna Roll and we liked the idea of linking the word “hearts”, but we always planned on calling him Jager even though there is no correlation to his registered name. Jagermeister means “master hunter” in German, and we liked that. He is, however, far from being a hunter! He would rather sit on my lap! The name Luckenbach was given to Luke by his breeder when he was just a puppy because she has always loved visiting Luckenbach and wanted to use that as an “L” name. At that time, we didn’t really understand why Luckenbach was so special, but we liked the name Luke so we kept it when we got him. Now we get it! Special Tricks: Making people think they’re seeing double – or maybe quadruple! Their brother and sister from Austin come to visit quite frequently and we’ve witnessed all FOUR of them at the same time standing in line at the fence, looking toward the street. We’ve actually seen them stop traffic! Favorite Toys: Jager is especially fond of stuffed buffalo toys - or anything that resembles a buffalo; Luke just likes anything that squeaks. Both boys LOVE a tennis ball chase!

Awards/Accolades: Jager and Luke both trained and tested for their American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen titles and both passed on the first test! The letters CGC at the end of their registered names signify that title. Favorite Place to Play at Comanche Trace: Jager and Luke enjoy walks – especially the lake trails. They love to sniff and see all the wildlife there. They do like going for golf cart rides, too, however I have to say I believe their favorite place to play is in their big, fenced backyard! How Did They Help Move You To Kerrville: We became friends with their breeder soon after we got Jager. When we would pass through Texas on road trips we would stop in Austin to visit her. A couple of years ago she suggested we take our time returning home and explore the Hill Country. We did just that and found Kerrville. Less than a year later we moved here. If it was not for our dogs we believe we never would have known Kerrville existed and that means we wouldn’t have found Comanche Trace! Any other Standard Schnauzer family members? Our son and his family in Florida have Jager & Luke’s half sister and a male Standard Schnauzer who is not related, but still very much a beloved “brother.” Jager and Luke are our 3rd and 4th Standard Schnauzers.
