VIDEO TRAINING WITH POLYPIPE

CHANGING CHANNELS

With face-to-face training sessions for trainee installers still proving difficult, product manufacturers are adapting and evolving their content to meet changing demands.

“THIS SHOULD PROVE TO BE A HUGE TIMESAVER… AND HELP TO CONDENSE THE MORE COMPLEX ASPECTS OF PLUMBING WORK INTO BITE-SIZED CONTENT.”

SMARTPHONES FOR THE JOB INFORMATION

Over recent months Polypipe has been adding shorter, sharper video content that can be used as a quick reference guide when on a job. Polypipe’s YouTube videos explain how Polypipe products work, how they should be used, and how they can help to solve an installation problem.

There’s now a suite of more than 40 training videos covering Polypipe’s push-fit plumbing products, soil systems, and underfloor heating systems. The short videos feature a Polypipe Category Manager providing an easy-to-follow, stepby-step guide.

This should prove to be a huge timesaver for installers to answer a problem while on a job and help to condense the more complex aspects of plumbing work into bite-sized content.

The channel will continue to grow and there are plans for content to demonstrate ‘best practice’ guidance during installation.

ONLINE TRAINING

In addition, Polypipe is one of a number of major manufacturers in the industry that offers online training courses. Polypipe’s Professional Development Online portal continues to host 40 online training modules, including guidance videos and set questions designed to provide installers and heating engineers with remote learning that can be completed at their own speed.

All of the content in the guidance videos and online training portal reflects the information available in previous printed documents.
