Water Treatment with ADEY

4 STEPS TO BEST PRACTICE

Water treatment best practice plays an important role in correctly commissioning and ongoing maintenance of a heating system.

B

oth best practices help extend boiler life and ensure the system works efficiently. But how can you carry this out in the most effective way at every install, repair, or service? ADEY has broken it down into four easy steps…

1. TEST

Test and assess the cleanliness of the heating system water.

USE EITHER:

■ ADEY ProCheck® - for instant in-app results

■ ADEY Lab test - send a water sample to our UKAS accredited laboratory for results within 24 hours.

2. CLEAN

Clean the system using chemicals and flushing to shift any build-up in the system pipes, radiators and boiler.

USE:

■ ADEY MagnaCleanse RapidFlush® - to remove debris which would otherwise collect in the system, leading to boiler breakdown, reduced efficiency and higher energy bills

■ MC5® or MC3+® chemicals - for effective cleaning.

3. PROTECT

Protect the system with ADEY MagnaClean filters, accessories and chemicals.

USE:

■ MC1+® inhibitor - to protect against system corrosion, improve heating efficiency and boiler performance

■ MC Zero® - to prevent freezing

■ MC10+® Biocide - in low temperature systems

■ ADEY MagnaClean® filter - for ongoing protection from magnetite

■ ADEY ProCheck® (or lab test after commissioning) - to record with Benchmark for proof of cleanliness.

4. MAINTAIN

Provide continuous protection throughout the life of the system with annual servicing and continued chemical protection.

USE:

■ ADEY ProCheck® - to test inhibitor levels & system water cleanliness during annual servicing as part of BS 7593:2019

■ Chemical inhibitors (MC1+®) - should be redosed every 5 years or a lab test completed to verify that the chemicals have not degraded.
