Lima International Airport Expansion Lima, Peru.
AECOM was tasked with creating the Masterplan and phased design concept for Lima’s International Airport expansion set to be completed by 2051. The winning concept utilizes Lima’s history of woven patterns to weave differentiated pedestrian zones in the public spaces that correspond to the intended speed of pedestrian traffic. In 2024, the new airport passenger terminal will begin operations. Between the years 2024 and 2028, there will be new office buildings and the addition of parking lots for
short and long-term users, following the LAP guidelines. The construction of the terminal People Moving System, (PMS) will connect with the metro system of the city of Lima in the year 2030. By 2051 the commercial developments will complete the offer of services of the airport city and include the Educational District and the Urban District.
As part of a 5 person landscape team, I was responsible for designing several sectional vignettes as well as the detail paving iterations that reflect the integrated weaving concept. Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) Victoria, Australia.
A level-crossing is an intersection where a railway line crosses a road or path at the same level. In most Australian urban and suburban centers, where level crossings exist, it creates hazardous conditions for cyclists, pedestrians and vehicular traffic, while also disrupting traffic flows, causing congestion. As such, the government of Victoria has prioritized 75 specific sites on the outskirts of Melbourne for level crossing removal. Although it might seem like a small task, the alternative to level-crossings requires separating the elevations at which these networks cross, i.e. elevating or lowering the
rail, elevating or lowering the road, or some combination of both. This triggers multidisciplinary urban design framework, accompanied by local, site-specific design guidelines to explore which option has the biggest benefit and smallest negative impact on the community. AECOM together with GHD, were tasked with assessing each location and creating site-specific urban-design guidelines.
As part of an inter-office, multidisciplinary team of 8, including urban designers, landscape architects and city planners, my role involved surveying 6 separate sites, assisting in the assessments and designing guideline documents for each of those sites to go through the community approval process. Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) Plaza & TOF Oakland, California, USA.
The overall vision for the Lake Merritt BART Station Plaza is to create a vibrant urban center that enriches the City of Oakland and is a source of community pride. The landscape basis of design provides a plan for a transition from the current design team to AECOM to capitalize on the work to date and advance the design. The end goal is for the plaza and Traffic Operations Facility (TOF) building to relate to one another to create a cohesive design that is inviting, safe, and functional during the day-today and during larger events. Many of the elements in the
current plaza plan are supported by BART and key stakeholders such as a central event space, game area, shade canopy, and bike facilities, and AECOM seeks to advance the design of these elements moving forward. A number of additional design elements will also need to be considered to deliver a successful design, and this includes a grading study, green infrastructure strategy, planting strategy, and lighting and security studies.
My role was to support both the architecture and landscape architecture teams. Under guidance from the architects I helped develop and test several early facade concepts and create illustrative renderings. At the same time I worked with the landscape team (of 3 designers), creating diagrams, physical study models and documenting plaza studies. Euro America Financial City (EFC) Hangzhou, China.
The Euro America Financial City is a new office-led development located in the Central Business District of the Future Technology City (FTC) in Hangzhou. The distinctive twin towers form a new gateway to the district, situated close to the Central Park Station on the proposed Metro Line 5 connecting the EFC to the rest of Hangzhou. To the south of the site is the Xixi National Wetland Park Extension, expanding the rich network of landscaped canals into the heart of the district. The unique combination of offices, hotels, serviced apartments, retail, leisure and residences
creates a diverse experience for everyone.

Euro America Financial City 2 (EFC2) Hangzhou, China.
In the neighboring mega-blocks immediately North of the initial Euro America Financial City development in Hangzhou, is the EFC2 development. EFC2 consists of a mixed-use residential tower occupying one corner, a tech-office tower at the opposite corner and a diagonal axis that creates a plaza between the two.
A green corridor park space occupies the east portion of the site and connects to the EFC Park to the south. The diagonal promenade that divides the site is designed to be a major pedestrian thoroughfare with flexible spaces for pop-up markets and night events that spill out from the central plaza.
As the deputy project manager and the only full-time designer (of a four person team) working on the project, my responsibilities were wide-ranging, from Schematic Design through to the Design Development phase. I coordinated design iterations with the project architects (NBBJ), managed certain aspects of the project budget and schedule, and handled communications from the client team in China.

AECOM Denver Headquarters Denver, Colorado, USA.
AECOM Denver office relocation required the redesign of an existing corporate space near downtown Denver. The challenge involved updating the dated, heavilypaved corporate entry and internal courtyard with a more contemporary, welcoming arrival and internal gathering space with seating areas and lush planting and unique decking design. The limited budget also needed to accommodate a new jogging path and outdoor fitness area and landscape and irrigation improvements.
By conceptualizing the new design as a process of selective demolition, reuse and retrofitting of specific areas, the design team was able to deliver high impact design at low cost. For the internal Courtyard, new decking covered the cracking concrete tiles, with integrated edge seating and planters around existing trees. At the Arrival Court, chunks of the paved area were removed to create new pockets for seating and planting ares.
My role on the 4-person landscape team revolved around the design development and construction documentation of the Courtyard and Arrival Court area. I assisted in specifying fitness equipment along the new jogging path, rendering design options and documenting decking details.

100 Resilient Cities, Schools for Resilience Cali, Colombia.
This pilot project is part of the 100 Resilient Cities – Pioneered by the Rockefeller Foundation - to support the city of Cali’s efforts to develop a replicable process for the design and construction of new public school infrastructure. Driving the design is the idea that lasting city-wide resilience can come from sustainable practices, stating with sustainable schools that will also function as community hubs and safe spaces to become the changecatalyst for each neighborhood. Some of the sustainable features include preserving as
many healthy existing trees on site as possible while constructing the new additions to the school, reuse of lumber and bricks from demolition, natural light and ventilation, roof-terrace vegetable garden and compost loop cycles, and flexible spaces that spill out to facilitate indoor/ outdoor learning and community-based events.
As part of a four person landscape team, I was responsible for much of the 3 week production effort to create 3d and 2d diagrammatic visualizations to clearly explain the sustainable design concepts for the design guidelines so that the process could be easily repeated for the other schools in the region. Golden One Center
Sacramento, California, USA. AECOM provided architecture, landscape and engineering services for the 675,000 sf Golden 1 Center, the world’s first LEED Platinum arena. Designed for the National Basketball Association’s Sacramento Kings, this multi-purpose event venue redevelops and frames the future of the downtown area through its iconic design and operation.
The arena’s design is uniquely Sacramento in how it implements indoor/outdoor spaces, enables public engagement through an event plaza, and creates a home court advantage through a unique seating bowl geometry. The venue is innovative and technicallyadvanced, allowing users to be constantly “plugged in” and interactive with the arena. Construction began October 29, 2014 and the stadium opened on September 30, 2016.
I was personally responsible for producing construction drawings for the raised bosque, which is a small portion of the overall site design. I redeveloped the concept-level design for the bosque from solid, continuous walls on the perimeter, to modular precast concrete components, as well as creating coordinating prototypes with the concrete consultants. Wyndham Park
Werribee, Victoria, Australia. Located on the banks of the Werribee River, Werribee City Centre has unique natural assets, which set it apart from other activity centres in the West. Wyndham Park was an AUD $13 million Wyndham City project. The redevelopment of the park kicked off in November 2018, to transform the park into a recreation and events space of regional significance.
The design concept involved took its inspiration from the river, with paths and paving patterns that would flow around vertical play elements like the multistory slide in the “adventure play” area, and the “nature play” area, due to its low elevation and proximity to the river, was designed with specific elements to accommodate flooding.
As part of a six-person, multidisciplinary design team, I was responsible for designing the family of bespoke furniture used throughout the park, translating the river concept into concrete-patterning, rendering the concept plan and lighting scheme, and assisting in the grading and construction drawings. SE. Wastewater Treatment Plant (SEP) San Francisco, California, USA. The SFPUC has embarked on a 20-year SSIP for the City of San Francisco’s combined sewer system. AECOM has been tasked to develop six green infrastructure early implementation projects with a budget of $47M to reduce combined sewer discharges and flooding. The City of San Francisco recognizes that in addition to improving the sewer system, green infrastructure enhances recreational areas, beautifies streets, improves pedestrian conditions, and can create a more livable habitat for San Francisco birds, native plants, and residents. These early implementation projects include public outreach and environmental
permitting specific to localized hydrological performance and maintenance requirements. As part of the 3 person landscape team, I was mostly responsible for all graphics and documentation, but also actively involved in community outreach meetings as well as presentations with the management of the SF-PUC. The New Meadowlands proposal focuses on flood risk reduction projects in Bergen County in the towns of Little Ferry and Moonachie, which experienced the most damage during Sandy but encompasses a total of five municipalities.
Design Sample:
AECOM, working with some members of the original team and local stakeholders, had to completely rethink the existing Meadowlands proposal for Rebuild By Design. Instead of a stunning natural environment ringed by berms and dense, skillfully planned new development, the New Meadowlands would be a lot like the Old Meadowlands, but with green slivers of flood mitigation infrastructure interspersed throughout the hodgepodge of residential, commercial, and industrial development that had been built atop marshes and flood plains.
