appy New Year to all of our Chamber Members! I am so excited to welcome in 2015; but before I jump the gun I want to thank the 2014 Chair of the Board, Jim McClenahan of University of Nevada, Reno, College of Business and the 2014 Board of Directors, especially those terming off this year. Jim’s leadership, as well as the concentrated involvement of our board, proved to guide us to new heights and prepare us for a fantastic 2015. Members will benefit from numerous changes in the upcoming year! Our new 2015 Board Chair, Sarah Sommers of Solutions At Work, has been deeply involved with The Chamber for the last several years. Sarah has hit the ground running so our members will see instant added value through our events and programs. Five new board members rounds out our 2015 Board to 22 total voting directors.

We are planning a NEW business trade fair, implementing a Young Entrepreneur Program, and, most importantly, unveiling our Choose Chamber awareness program. There will also be many other opportunities for new and expanded events. We will continue our popular programming such as Morning Spark, BizTalk Blender and the monthly Alive After 5 mixers at The Chamber. So, hold on to your hat! My staff and I are excited to serve you in the New Year. Whenever you need help in your business, don’t forget to Choose Chamber!

We are navigators of the vast and the complex, translators of the nuanced and the personal. We are facilitators and simplifiers, the tenacious, wide-smiling orchestrators of health plans, human resources, payroll, benefits administration, insurance in all its dizzying forms, a PEO and so much more. These things, as eccentric as this might sound, are our passion. They fascinate and define us. Ours is a wisdom gleaned from careers inside these industries, an unblinking acumen that enables us to be amplifiers of opportunity and your ability to thrive. We are a vigilant extension of you and your values, your keener eyes and your most-attuned ears. We help you keep your promises, protect your assets, realize greater efficiencies, and take exceptional care of the people who matter to you. Because it is through the realization of your dreams, through the unlocking of your own unique potential that we, ourselves, are truly fulfilled. We give our absolute best so that you can enjoy being yours.

You can be better than you were yesterday, better than you were last year. Better prepared. Better informed. Better inspired. Better protected and better connected. You can be better represented, supported and understood. You can be better at seeing the road ahead and seizing its possibilities. Better at solving problems, at calculating your risks, at covering your backside, at complying with the important stuff, at keeping up your end of the bargain, at sweating the details, at crossing all those T’s and dotting all those I’s, at empowering your people, at taking real care of business and, yes, at dreaming bigger. You can be so much better being everything you need to be because we are here to help. Understand what better looks like for you by calling our team at 775828-7420 or finding us on-line at www.clarkandassoc.com and www. mysolutionsatwork.com.

Marketing Tip of the Month

Over 75% of consumers search online before making a purchasing decision! People use search engines like Google,Yahoo! or Bing to find information in one of three ways. 1. By Need (ex: “business lawyer”) 2. By Company Name (ex: “Reno Bighorns”) 3. By Your Name (ex: “Len Stevens”) Take Action! Do a Google search for your company name, and search for your name. What appears? Your goal is to ensure that people find results which inspire them to connect with you!
