“I am a sophomore at the University of Southern Maine, majoring in leadership and organizational studies. I spent this summer in South Africa working with the Montagu Project’s leadership workshop The South African word Ubuntu means “I am, because we are ” I am who I am because of who we all are as human beings and as leaders I am who I am today because of the Olympia Snowe Women’s Leadership Institute And, for that, I say thank you ”
Jillian is an Instrument Technician at IDEXX Laboratories, Inc. She is a Class of 2025 OLA mentoring high school juniors at Mount Blue High School; she was the first ever OL to become an OLA.
“I chose to become an OLA because I wanted to give back to the program that has given me the confidence, strength, and community to be who I am today I am so grateful to be the first OL turned OLA and cannot wait for others to follow! Having alumni who become OLAs can help incoming OLs better understand how the program works and share how it has been beneficial in our own lives already ”
