THE NEW VARIO CROWN: GRIP MEETS GLIDE Fischer launched its revolutionary Crown technology in 1976: the world's first universal climbing system which delivers impressive performance without any waxing at all and in practically all temperature and snow conditions. Further developments have followed all the time ever since. The very successful Premium Crown is one of the most well-known examples of how the decades of experience lead to ever improving kick and glide behaviour. The new Vario Crown now takes the system to an even higher level of performance. This cutting pattern which was developed in elaborate tests ensures previously unattained efficiency in motion. In what is perfect interaction with the successful and proven Single and Double Crown units for a direct, powerful kick action, the newly developed Gliding Crown sections with their rounded profile guarantee maximum ease when gliding. EASY KICK: THE REVOLUTION IN THE WAX SECTOR Fischer has also optimised the conditions for easy, enjoyable skiing with wax skis. Thanks to the new, optimised wax pocket pattern the wax comes into contact with the snow earlier. This results in a more direct and safer kick action, thus lowering requirements in terms of effort and skiing technique. With this forgiving nature, the accent is on being able to enjoy the sheer skiing experience.
POWER LAYER: MAKING LIGHT WORK OF ENJOYMENT The successor of Power Edge has arrived: this 0.6 mm thick plastic component has now been replaced by an extremely lightweight high-pressure natural fibre and resin laminate which is exceptionally thin at 0.2 mm. This innovation is featured throughout the entire area of the ski and not only makes it more stable and resistant to heat, it also reduces weight by a noticeable extent.

SPEEDMAX: SPEED IN A NEW DIMENSION The technological innovation caused an immediate sensation in its very first season and pros have been highly enthusiastic about the sheer speed ever since. Now with the Fischer RACE CODE label of quality, this original World Cup technology has been transferred 13 l14 for the first time to series production: for competition-oriented skiers who like to impress in the fast lane.
COLD BASE BONDING THE SECRET LIES IN THE FINEST DETAIL Or to be more precise, in the molecular structure of the base. High temperatures and pressure in conventional base application processes have a negative effect on this structure. Which is why Fischer has developed Cold Base Bonding: a unique process which retains the homogeneity of the original molecular structures by avoiding heat and pressure when the base is added. As a result, Fischer gives you exclusively unrivalled gliding properties and maximum speed! Positive side effect: thanks to the homogeneity of the structures the individual pores of the base also remain intact in their original form. The previously unattainable wax absorption and considerably improved grindability of the base lead additionally to the best conditions for maximum speeds.
SAME PROPERTIES IN ALL TEMPERATURES In the past skis had different characteristics at different temperatures. The reason for this lies in the different reactions of the materials used for the ski body and base to changes in temperature. This is not good for the ski as the performance changes and becomes incalculable. Thanks to Cold Base Bonding the newly developed special connecting level acts as an intermediate layer which efficiently absorbs the thermal changes of the various material The result: consistent and perfect ski performance in all temperature conditions.

Sport and exercise generate body heat, and this includes your feet. Feet are more likely to become damp this way than through external moisture. This is why Fischer concentrates on efficient moisture transport from the inside to the outside: the boot liner is made of technical mesh material and permeable to air and moisture so that any moisture can be absorbed by the fleece lying on it and wicked away. Recreational skiers can also take advantage of this most widely and successfully used binding system in the World Cup in a very easy way. Starting from the mounting position in the balance point (the zero point on the NIS plate), individual adjustments are made according to the skiing style and ambient conditions. The position of the binding has a major influence on the pressure under the ski in the various sections. The ski performance can be influenced specifically as a result. Here is a clearly structured overview of the possible adjustments and their effects.

Performance is a matter of the climbing and gliding behaviour of the ski as a function of the individual skiing style and the snow and terrain conditions. Use with roller skis in summer, on the other hand, has different requirements. For optimum control and power transfer the hand strap has to fit perfectly. You invariably have to open it in certain situations, such as when crossing a road or using a mobile phone, for example.
