In the 49 years since Dr. Bob Smith invented the first thermal lens, Smith has created products that have progressed and changed the landscape of eyewear and helmets, but not a damn thing has really changed. Good luck finding someone in the Smith office on a powder day. So we celebrate our past by brushing the dust off some original graphics and putting them on the goggles that Dr. Bob would be proud to rock. On the I/O and I/OX youâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;ll find the artwork found on our ground breaking SL goggle in 1981. On the I/OS we relive 1990 in all its neon radness.

Scott Stevens’ brain works differently. He snowboards differently. He skateboards differently. Its fun and wildly creative. And to celebrate this we connected him with artist and Senior Art Director of Girl Skateboards, Andy Jenkins.

Jenkins, 20 years at the helm of Girl Skateboards, also creates fine art collages from the remnants of every day life. The result is a complex collage of paint, scraps of paper, and pages torn from Scott’s trick journal; a graphic that reflects this union of outlying perspectives.

When you meet Xavier he’s a nice, friendly dude. You don’t think, “hey this dude is messed up in the head.” But then you see his riding, and you know he is. He’s totally in a different head space. So we sought out artist Axel Geittman who’s artwork would lead you to believe he’s also in a different head space. Guess what? He is. It’s a perfect match.

Elena Hight Elena is a balance of progression and keeping it classic. Double corks and boned out methods. Power and beauty. She wanted her ID to reflect that. A little classic gold treatment is combined with modern abstract art. Its good to find balance.

Our first goggles were hand-built out of the back of Dr. Bob Smith’s van nearly 50 years ago. Bob would test his invention in a walk-in freezer at the base of the ski hill after all-day powder laps. Not much has changed since 1965. Today, we walk out our front door into the Sawtooth Mountains. It takes 5 minutes to get from our headquarters to local lift access, 10 minutes to backcountry access. Each goggle is still hand-built in our factory in Clearfield, Utah. We’ re p ro u d to d esi gn an d test each gog g le an d h e l met rig h t in ou r ow n bac kya rd. A D A M H AY N E S Adam Haynes Born and raised of fine Central Oregon stock, artist Adam Haynes makes art of the world around him: the vivid geography of the Cascade Range and the off-kilter character of its rural inhabitants. Not only a commercial illustrator and fine artist, he is a masters champion of The Legendary Banked Slalom and avid enjoyer of the backcountry.

Gordon Stevenson, aka Baron Von Fancy, is an NYC artist classically trained as a sign painter. He tackles pop culture with a sense of humor. He makes neon signs, hand lettered murals, socks, lighters, screen grabs of 80s Wheel of Fortune episodes, knock-off cartoons, and even bow ties. His hand painted 1950s-looking signs of catchphrases overheard in the subway and in conversation are poetic, some are jokes and some clichés. Baron Von Fancy has a way with words.

We combine our patented thermal lens technologies with the most sophisticated fog-fighting inner lenses ever created to provide three levels of performance to match perfectly to your needs. To be effective, a thermal lens is designed to keep the inner lens warm, dry and above the dew point. Much like a storm window, it must be perfectly sealed to prevent moisture from entering in between the two lenses. Thermal lenses must be able to adjust to varying atmospheric pressures, temperatures and conditions – simply stated, it must breathe.
