Flores Taboada Después del turrón, los mazapanes, las uvas y el champán... aquí estamos en este nuevo año con más arte, más frikismo y estrenando concurso.

Esto último gracias a Magnètica, quienes regalan un CD a las dos fotos de cafés más originales que nos enviéis, así que ya sabéis, a sacar vuestras cámaras y fotografiar vuestro café de la mañana, de la tarde y para los trabajadores nocturnos... el café preparado para una larga y dura noche de trabajo, y con la banda sonora de Magnètica se hará mucho más placentera, ¡doy fe de ello!.

Y bueno, un poco tarde (que ya han pasado unas cuantas semanas desde que empezó el año...), queríamos desearos un año de muchos proyectos fructíferos, de creatividad e inspiración. Y nosotros... seguiremos aquí, un año más para vosotros, con nuevas metas e ilusiones. Agradecerle a todo el equipo de cafeinómanos su compromiso con este proyecto; a los colaboradores, dejarnos mostrar su mundo; y cómo no, a todos aquellos que nos ayudan de una forma u otra a que cada vez lleguemos a más gente. ¡¡Feliz año!!

¡¡Que alegría, estamos en auge de las fiestas navideñas!! Nieve, sonrisas, paz, solidaridad, los muñecos de nieve, los trineos y las pistas de patinaje sobre hielo... ¡Espera! ¡Espera!, ¿Me estás diciendo que no es así donde tú vives? Pues llevas razón así que os explicaré cómo funciona la navidad: La Navidad es una fecha donde las familias se llevan bien (o son hipócritas, según el punto de vista), es una fecha donde se come y se bebe como si fuese la última vez, y donde se gasta todo el dinero habido y por haber para demostrar a nuestros seres más cercanos lo mucho que los queremos.

En la Navidad no hay nieve blanca, al menos no en Almería que es donde suelo pasarla, donde además de no haber nieve blanca (hay navidades que no hace ni frío y sin un día de lluvia), ¿Dónde quedó ese ambiente navideño?

En Navidades la telebasura se vuelve aún más telebasura, con un continuo bombardeo de publicidad para que compres más y más, y el típico niño pequeño de la familia gritando un exultante “¡Me lo pido!” a cada anuncio que ve, al cual empiezas a adelantarte rabioso por su velocidad para decir “me lo pido” y no dejar nada para él, el niño se pide hasta la colonia de Hugo Boss, el nuevo libro de Vargas Llosa y esa cámara que tu SobredosisDeCafeína /5

tanto deseas, así que todo se convierte en una batalla por conseguir el anuncio con el objeto más deseado.

En Navidad es fantástico pasear por los centros comerciales y por las calles de tiendas de los centros urbanos, ¡Ah! ¡No era eso lo que yo quería decir más bien todo lo contrario!, visitar cualquier zona de tiendas y sus cercanías, se suele convertir más bien en una pequeña odisea: Primero está el agobio y el estrés producido por una muchedumbre de personas agobiadas y estresadas a más no poder, intentando encontrar el regalo adecuado para cada uno. En segundo lugar tenemos los “fantásticos” hilos musicales que nos deleitan con grandes éxitos como: El tamborilero, Oh blanca navidad y noche de paz. Estas melodías se convierten en la OT de la navidad, lo más reproducido en sus

mejores establecimientos de regalos. En tercer lugar nos queda algo que suele pasar en las ciudades chicas como Almería, añadimos el estrés y el agobio de la muchedumbre deseosa de consumir, esa música repetitiva y desfasada, a tus nervios que te hacen sospechar que cualquiera de las personas a la que le vas a comprar este regalo pueden estar rondando en tus alrededores, porque en la ciudad solo hay un centro comercial y cuatro calles con tiendas, a donde todos van a comprar.

En definitiva, me encanta la navidad, porque aunque no puedas pisar zonas superpobladas de gente, porque aunque el pequeño no pare con su “me lo pido”, no haya nieve y haya que guardar las apariencias, es una escusa perfecta para reunirse con los amigos y brindar. Por eso, brindo por ustedes.

Siempre fumo esperando el Amanhacer… Perdón, el amanecer. Muchos descendientes de viriles miembros misógenos, acomodádos y tranquilos, siempre entre muslos; yo sin etiqueta, sin trampa ni cartón, quizás sea más de tinta encerrada en el cajón. Por eso cuando llueve siempre me mojo por dentro. Tengo el yo de fuera cansado y el alma entre canastos de ropa sucia. Nuca entenderé síntomas como la envídia. No comprenderé jamás eso del vivir de día.

Pedía ser Don Tonterías y creció un roja nariz. Feliz no, pero tampoco triste. Recuerdo cuando sastre tejía los hilos del desastre en el trimestre más caluroso del año. El sonido de las agujas del reloj siempre suena diferente cuando marchan en sentido contrario. El sonido de las burbujas de aire bailando con tu piel, siempre suena direferente cuando nos bañamos en el mismo santuario. Hay tantos abracadabras y tanto que hacer con las pocas palabras… Me lo dijo una viuda blanca, que balanceándose en aquella oscura y tristona esquina, parecía tan diminuta que podría desmenuzarla en un blanco papel de arroz. De ella un intenso incienso que me rozó, me robó la cara y me bendijo con el pecado del trance, ¿Carece el corazón de saber crecer?.

Lo primero que destacaron, fue el poco presupuesto con el que habían contado. Las dificultades para poder exponer piezas físicamente y las peripecias para llegar a Madrid de algunas de las que sí estaban, incluso a través de valija diplomática. La falta de dinero se suple con ingenio, usando materiales baratos o de desecho. Papel film para separar espacios a modo de tabique, cajas de cartón como expositores, virutas de papel y otros elementos con los que además consiguen dar la impresión (buscada por ellos) de que estamos viendo los objetos en el momento de recibirlos y desempaquetarlos.

Algo que queda claro, después de las explicaciones, es la idiosincrasia de esta edición, a través de sus temas transversales. Se trata de promocionar el “diseño para todos” y el “diseño para el desarrollo”, dando preferencia a diseños que cumplan estas características. Explicándolo con palabras sencillas, diseños que tengan en cuenta a todo tipo de personas, condición, edad, capacidades, etcétera en el primer de los casos. Y en el segundo, que ayuden al crecimiento mediante diseños útiles para su entorno sociocultural.

Ahora ya, mi opinión y la de los compañeros con los que traté el tema. Me gustó la solución a la falta de recursos. No me gustó la distribución de los diseños por países, hubiese preferido por tipo de diseño para ir directamente a lo que me interesase. Quizá una mejor gestión de la información haría que no resultase tan engorrosa la experiencia.

En cuanto a los diseños en sí, se pueden encontrar tipografías muy interesantes, buenos packagins y cartelerías para todos los gustos. Hay alguna identidad corporativa que demuestra el buen nivel de diseño que hay en el cono sur. Los trabajos españoles que han elegido son de bastante calidad, teniendo como máximo exponente a Isidro Ferrer, lo que nos da una muestra del nivel. Este tipo de

diseños creo que son los que menos cumplen con las premisas de la muestra, aunque también son los más difíciles de adaptar a las mismas.

En resumen, si estás por Madrid y tienes tiempo libre, merece la pena acercarse hasta Legazpi al viejo matadero; ir ex profeso a Madrid ida y vuelta en el día, más bien no.

“LUZ, OSCURIDAD, LUZ”

Temas muy recomendables son “1987” y “El Sueño Ardiendo”, los cuales siguen la estela de un pop Indie muy marcado y al que ya nos tenían acostumbrados. Pero desde mi punto de vista lo mejor del disco es la trilogía o la historia formada por “Siempre”, “Una Nueva Vida” y “Deshazte de Mí”. Tres temas que pueden definir lo que es este disco, un auténtico contraste y una constante mezcla de luces e imágenes sonoras. Se intuye un sonido muy brit, llenas de guitarras que rezuman fuerza por cualquier costado, la mezcla de voces, luces… resumiendo, una manera de removernos por dentro llevándonos del éxtasis a la melancolía en un solo golpe de guitarra; simplemente genial.

A modo de resumen, este disco es de lo que te hace pensar, y mucho, dado el alto nivel de las letras, mientras más ahondas, más cositas encuentras. Si hablamos de instrumentación, un largo más que completo que mantienen el nivel de unas letras muy bien cuidadas, Un disco que de verdad llega y bastante profundo por cierto. Mis más sinceras felicitaciones.

Magnetizados es el adjetivo que mejor definiría el estado en que nos encontramos después de haber escuchado el grandísimo disco debut de los madrileños Magnètica, grupo formado por Aksel (voz y guitarra eléctrica), Davile (voz y guitarra acústica) e Israel (bajo), además de dos colaboradores de muchos kilates como son Juan Carlos (guitarra solista) y Daniel (batería).

Este primer disco nos deja la sensación de que con paciencia, humildad y trabajo duro, se llegan a hacer discos tan personales como éste.

Su seña de identidad son unas letras más que bien cuidadas con las que te puedes sentir muy bien identificado y unos arreglos musicales llenos de exquisitez.

Ya que venían a presentar su primer largo Maida Vale a Granada, no nos pudimos resistir a acercarnos y preguntarles qué tal está yendo su gira de promoción.

De su concierto salimos más que encantados por la demostración de fuerza con la que nos engancharon aun más.

Pez de Plomo habla sobre la conformidad ante la vida. ¿Es la música para vosotros una manera de no conformaros ante lo que se supone establecido?

DAVILE: Sí, como bien dices, es una canción que habla precisamente de eso, de algunos momentos en los que decidimos quedarnos con lo que tenemos, de no asumir ningún reto mayor, y habla de la rutina en una pareja que dejan de ser lo que fueron al principio. Realmente la música para nosotros es eso, una manera de sacar fuera un montón de cosas que nos inquietan y que creemos importante, siempre con humildad, pero no vamos a conformarnos con lo que tenemos ahora, disfrutamos y valoramos cada momento, pero la idea es seguir creciendo y poder llegar cada día un poco más lejos y que nos conozcan un poco mejor.

Habéis recibido muy buenas críticas sobre Maida Vale ¿Qué creéis que hace tan atractivo este disco para los oyentes?

AKSEL: la verdad es que estamos contentos con las críticas que hemos recibido y te halaga seguir trabajando por esa línea. Nosotros creemos que igual lo que hace que a la gente le pueda gustar es que está bien hecho, y que también es un trabajo que está hecho con mucho cariño, tiene mucho tiempo de tratamiento, hay mucho trabajo de local... Entonces, con esas condiciones puedes ser atractivo de cara a la gente.

Cuando estuvisteis en Londres ¿Teníais alguna idea de lo que queríais ir haciendo?

DAVILE: Realmente nosotros llevamos componiendo y como banda bastante más tiempo del que se supone, hay mucha gente que dice que acabamos de salir, y es cierto, porque como Magnètica llevamos poco, pero tanto en proyectos individuales como en otros conjuntos que teníamos, llevamos ya

algún bastante en esto. Había canciones de los tres, y de ahí, muchas, están incluidas en el disco que vienen de tiempo atrás; la mayoría están escritas en Inglaterra, pero como idea y concepto queríamos tirar hacia un álbum, por lo tanto hay muchos temas que se han quedado fuera de los que vienen ya de tiempo atrás, y el único esqueleto es ese: años de hacer canciones, años de componer y años de movernos entorno a la música.

Entonces tenéis repertorio para sacar un segundo disco ¿no?

ISRAEL: Si, tenemos material de sobra para hacer más de un disco, lo que pasa es que para este hemos querido coger las canciones que en conjunto dijeran algo, como si fuera una película: hemos hecho un guión para que encajase en este primer disco. ¿Por qué habeis decidido montar Artilugio Records para dar salida a vuestro primer largo?

AKSEL: Realmente lo hemos creado para depender de nosotros mismos, pensamos que era la opción más adecuada, más que nada, porque todas las decisiones pasan por nosotros, no es ni mucho menos discrepar de una discográfica, que también hacen un buen trabajo, pero sí es cierto que tenemos mucha más seguridad si hacemos las cosas nosotros, y si cada opción depende de nosotros. Por ejemplo, el videoclip lo decidimos nosotros, el diseño del disco lo hizo David Leal y dimos el Ok nosotros...

Entonces es como que todo tiene que gustarte para poder sacarlo de alguna forma. ¿Cómo valoráis la experiencia de haber trabajado con los mismos productores de Vetusta Morla?

ISRAEL: Fue de casualidad, nosotros llegamos, buscábamos estudio, Vetusta se SobredosisDeCafeína /15

encontraba grabando el disco... No sabíamos cómo sonaban, lo escuchamos justo cuando nosotros llegamos, ellos estaban terminando, y no sabíamos que iban a tener tanta repercusión como han tenido.

La verdad es que muy bien el haber grabado con ellos, Javibu y Manu son dos grandes profesionales, nos han dado sonido, nos han marcado un camino que trazar, dijeron que nos acompañaban en el viaje y lo han hecho de puta madre... Y a día de hoy seguimos teniendo contacto casi a diario con ellos, nos han aportado toda la experiencia que tenían, y nos han hecho sacar todo lo mejor que teníamos nosotros como músicos.

Vuestras canciones son muy directas, tratadas con el mayor cariño ¿Son estas letras una manera de limpiaros por dentro?

DAVILE: Sí, es un poco de terapia, de escape como tú dices, una forma de limpiarte por dentro e intentar compartir con todo el mundo en qué estado te encuentras y sacarle algo productivo a esas situaciones, porque todo el mundo pasa por momentos malos y buenos, pero a eso se le puede sacar un provecho y en nuestro caso, ese provecho llega a ser un tema con el que la gente puede sentirse identificado, que le transmite cosas... eso para nosotros es el mayor halago del mundo, pero realmente el fin que tiene para nosotros escribir es eso, sacar fuera lo que nos inquieta, lo que nos preocupa, lo que estamos viviendo en ese momento, y quizá, volviendo un poco a lo que has dicho antes, también es una de las claves por las que este álbum puede llamar un poco más la atención, porque realmente no estamos hablando de cosas fuera de lo común, ni de nada que desconozcamos, simplemente las canciones son cercanas porque ha16\ SobredosisDeCafeína

blan de situaciones que todo el mundo vive, no les hace diferentes a nosotros, y realmente es eso, terapia.

En este mundo ya tan tecnológico, ¿qué pensáis de estos servicios de música digital como Spotify o páginas como Myspace? ¿ayudan más al artista, dañan más a las discográficas, o al revés?

AKSEL: En este caso, la discográfica somos nosotros, no nos puede perjudicar mucho, pero sí pensamos que es una ventaja, lógicamente Internet es una plataforma con la cual tú puedes darte a conocer a nivel mundial, y puedes llegar a muchísima gente que de otra forma sería impensable. Para nosotros es fundamental cuidar las redes sociales y aparte conocer gente, que a través de Internet te pueden conocer, a cualquier persona que le pueda llegar eso, para nosotros es satisfactorio y es digno de valorar.

ISRAEL: Es un poco pronto todavía, para decidir si eso te ayuda o si sacas algo bueno o no tal y como está la industria cambiando. A priori sí, porque das tu música a conocer, te abre el camino, y parece que las discográficas están un poco perdidas, se están quedando como un poco atrás, de ahí que nosotros creamos el sello, pero realmente… ¿Qué si las redes sociales aportan algo a los grupos…? en el momento que se masifiquen, no, te va a llegar tanta información… que aceptas y pasas, escuchas al grupo que te llame la atención y listo. Yo creo que ahí hay un peligro, la música va a pasar desapercibida en Myspace. Sí que es de más fácil acceso a la gente, antes tenías que comprarte el disco, ahora puedes entrar en la página web, en el blog… en lo que tengas, pero a la hora de difundirlo tiene su doble cara que el tiempo lo dirá.

Hace aproximadamente unos nueve meses compartí en mi muro uno de esos artículos que nos resultan interesantes: Una flotilla de algo más de 6 barcos con ayuda humanitaria se dirige hacia Palestina para intentar romper el bloqueo israelí. “Vaya panda de locos”, pensé. “Esta gente tiene coraje desafiando a Israel. Se las han arreglado para conseguir esa cantidad de barcos saliendo de distintos puertos del mundo. Vaya tela, esto va a resultar interesante”. Y como el que espera el final de un emocionante partido de fútbol empecé a seguir la trayectoria de la flotilla; una mezcla de emoción, incertidumbre y cierto aire de esperanza me invadía cada vez que navegaba por internet para ver hasta dónde había logrado llegar la dichosa y osada flotilla.

Se acabó la incertidumbre. El gol de la victoria marcado por el ejercito israelí pitaba el final del partido, como tantas otras veces. “Mmm, no me extraña en absoluto”, pensé. Y empecé a leer artículos sobre el tema. La diferencia de contenidos de unos medios a otros era increíble, así que hice algo que nunca había hecho antes, y diciéndome a mí misma: “Y ¿por qué no? No le estoy haciendo daño a nadie”, me lancé: “Añade a Manuel Tapial como amigo” ... Y al cabo de unos días... “Manuel Tapial te ha añadido a su lista de contactos”.

Así fue como supe, de primera mano, lo que realmente pasó en ese barco en el que murieron 9 personas, chateando por facebook con Manuel Tapial, uno de los activistas españoles que viajaban en la Flotilla de la Libertad.

Sería demasiado narraros todos los detalles que Manuel me contó y que sin duda hacen que este caso te revuelva las tripas. Con él se vulneran muchísimas de las leyes a las que estamos acostumbrados a defender y de las que disfrutamos cada día. Pero dejaré esos detalles de un lado en este artículo porque me gustaría concentrarme en contaros lo positivo que ha supuesto para mí ese ataque... ¡curiosamente!

A raíz de mis charlas con Manuel me di cuenta de que no me podía quedar por más tiempo 18\ SobredosisDeCafeína

de brazos cruzados: “Por Dios, esta gente se ha unido para llevar barcos de ayuda humanitaria, ¿cómo no voy a ser yo capaz de aportar algo por pequeño que sea? Yo no me puedo quedar así, ¡algo tengo que hacer!”

Y llegó la moraga... La playa del cable de Marbella como escenario y un cumpleaños fueron el evento y el momento perfecto para que mi idea tomara forma. Así que ni corta ni perezosa, con una birra en la mano y unos andares algo graciosos a altas horas de la mañana me acerqué a un grupo de mis colegas a hacerles la pregunta del millón: “¿Seríais capaces de tocar gratis por una buena causa?” Y así empezó todo. Alguna gente, un poco reacia al principio, pensaba que se trataba únicamente de un subidón moraguero, esos andares me delataban, y no les culpo :); pero poco a poco me puse en marcha y empecé con los preparativos: busca local, ultima bandas, haz carteles, imprime entradas, organiza la rifa, llama a los medios...

Y en un par de meses llegó el festival. Terrasana como escenario y un Festival de Rock fueron el evento y el momento perfecto para que juntos arrancaramos el motor marbellí de este nuevo desafío. Hubo buena música, buena comida; Marea y Extremoduro, dos bandas de rock legendarias para todo buen rockero español que se precie, contribuyeron envian-

do camisetas, baquetas y CDs para la rifa. Y hubo cabida para más, aparte del relato de un chico palestino y la proyección del video de lo que pasó realmente con la flotilla: la lectura de un solemne poema sobre Palestina que nos permitió escuchar la voz de los que no la tienen. Fue sin duda un momento cargado de emoción en el que las cañeras guitarras eléctricas dejaron de tocarles canciones a los niños de Gaza para que pudiéramos escuchar el llanto de pueblo palestino.Y pudimos oirles durante esos dos minutos que duró la lectura del poema. Y nos sentimos orgullosos de haber pasado allí juntos esa tarde de domingo.

Y así como cada barco se unió para formar la primera flotilla, esa tarde músicos, camareros

y amigos nos juntamos para marcar una diferencia. Desde la persona que compró la entrada hasta el que hizo una donación de casi 50 euros en bonos de construcción, todos participamos ayudando a la población palestina de Gaza.

Conseguimos vender algo más de 200 entradas y recaudar algo más de 1300 euros que irán destinados a llenar los nuevos barcos de ayuda humanitaria que partirán camino a Gaza en Marzo del 2011.

Ser solidario es una capacidad por explotar que todos llevamos dentro y de nosotros depende el brillo que le queramos dar. Hay muchas maneras de hacerlo y esta es sólo una más. Después de su paso por DUP, es más que seguro que esta banda levantina habrá despertado el interés de más fans, pero a mi juicio solo ha sido eso, una ayuda más, porque el lugar que ocupan ahora dentro de la escena rock nacional se lo han ganado a pulso: dejándose la piel en cada concierto, trabajando duro y lo más importante, creyéndose ellos mismos que este proyecto llegaría a buen puerto.

Tienen nuevo disco, Sujetokaina (Maldito Digital 2010), qué mejor excusa para hablar con ellos del pasado, presente y futuro de una banda que seguro seguirá dando mucho que hablar.

¿Nos podríais contar cómo surgió Sujeto K y cómo fueron vuestros comienzos? Pues en principio surgió como un proyecto paralelo para pasarlo bien: Tol (cantante) y Kapo (Batería) tocaban juntos en el grupo Daze of Dawn, mientras Suayo (guitarra), hacía lo propio en Sumo’fobia. Nos juntamos para hacer algún bolo suelto y poder hacer un estilo más festero. Al poco tiempo se unió Susurros (guitarra) que también había pasado por Daze of Dawn, grabamos la primera maqueta y empezamos a movernos por ahí. Cuando ganamos el concurso de Emergenzza a nivel nacional, nos dimos cuenta de que debíamos

dedicarnos totalmente a Sujeto K, y abandonamos nuestros otros proyectos. Justo después de grabar nuestro primer Cd Resujetokados, Susurros abandonó la nave por asuntos personales y en su lugar entró Novo 2.0, con lo que se cerró la formación actual de Sujeto K. ¿Qué creéis que ha supuesto vuestro paso por DUP (Dame Una Pista)? Pues a nivel personal, ¡¡una experiencia muy divertida y con recompensa!! A nivel de grupo, ha permitido que nos conozca mucha más gente y que nuestra música llegue a más partes. Sí que se nota ahora en los conciertos, que viene más gente gracias a habernos conocido en el programa. ¿Qué tiene musicalmente Sujeto K que no tengan otras bandas del panorama español? Sobretodo, diría que el buen rollo que transmitimos con nuestros temas y en nuestros conciertos. Normalmente, los grupos de metal siempre son oscuros, con mala leche, y nosotros siempre intentamos ver las cosas desde un punto de vista optimista o divertido. Hacemos música muy cañera, pero siempre con buen humor e ironía. A nivel más musical, solemos hacer temas bailables, para que la gente se lo pase en grande en directo, siempre componemos pensando en el directo, que es nuestra mejor baza. De todas formas también tenemos temas más serios y con letras más profundas, siempre nos ha gustado la variedad… ¿En qué ha cambiado la banda desde la publicación del primer álbum hasta este segundo? Pues como diría

cualquier grupo, la madurez. En Resujetokados hay temas muy buenos, pero ahora en “Sujetokaína” los temas suenan más redondos, están más trabajados y se nota en el sonido y la producción. A nivel de estilo no ha habido mucho cambio, aunque quizá en “Sujetokaína” haya más Fusión de estilos… ¿Que esperáis de este segundo disco?

Simplemente dar un paso más. Esto de la música es una carrera de fondo, y lo que hay que hacer es ir creciendo y seguir para adelante. Con el primer disco conseguimos hacernos un nombre en la comunidad valenciana, y con este segundo estamos expandiéndonos por todo el estado. Si que hemos notado que este disco ha tenido más repercusión, ahora cuando salimos a tocar por fuera de Valencia descubrimos que ya hay mucha gente que conoce los temas y que nos sigue.

Simplemente desde la primera escucha se ve una rica, variada y más que acertada mezcla de estilos, pero, ¿Podríais explicarnos cuál creéis vosotros que es vuestro estilo? Pues lo hemos llamado siempre Metal Cervecero, por la fiesta que hacemos en directo, pero a veces crea confusión porque la gente puede pensar que hacemos rollo Metal épico o Metal Alemán (tipo Blind Guardian), y nada más alejado de la realidad.

Así que cuando intentamos explicar nuestro estilo decimos que es Metal Festivo. En Sujeto K entran muchos tipos de estilos, desde reggae, punk, funk, rock, pero siempre desde un punto de vista muy cañero.

/dentrodelarbol.blogspot.com/ Dentro del árbol es un blog para detenerse, sin prisas ni atropellos. Para paladear. En el que están expuestos de una u otra manera (imágenes, pinturas, música, textos, etc...) los pensamientos y gustos de su autor.

Tras varias reseñas de cierto calado mediático (Malviviendo, El Bute, Ciudad K…) valía la pena repostar y estirar los músculos en una página que redefine como pocas el concepto de “web-log” para trasmutarlo en el de “BLOG-ZINE”, donde la cultura (y mayoritariamente la musical) siempre se lee con mayúsculas, independientemente de cómo se tipografíe…

Miguel Ángel González, maestro de ceremonias y anfitrión al clickear, es músico y locutor de radio, y utiliza como blogger el seudónimo de Ahab, en referencia literaria al personaje de Melville, de la novela Moby Dick.

La “miscelánea” de la bitácora dificulta (afortunadamente en este caso, y cada vez hay menos…) el hacer una sinopsis, una reseña fidedigna o encorsetada sobre su contenido. Y es que aquí el apellido “personal” del nombre propio “blog” adquiere una dimensión especial: se trata de un blog que escribe, efectivamente, una PERSONA posicionada ante el arte, la música, la literatura o hasta la propia COTIDIANIDAD. Ante una de las páginas más documentadas que he podido encontrar en mi periplo en SDC (Miguel se enfrenta con sumo rigor y dedicación a la publicación de cada post), no queda más que la invitación a “entrar”, y para ello usamos el formato “entrevista”, gracias a la inmensa generosidad y disponibilidad de Miguel.

¿Qué fue lo que te empujó a comenzar un blog? Algunos amigos y conocidos me animaron, y la idea se antojaba interesante, pero a la vez lejana, poco realizable: yo no pensaba que pudiera aportar algo a la blogosfera que no existiera ya, que no estuviera hecho. Sin embargo, una vez me lo pensé mejor, me pareció interesante por dos razones principales: muchas veces, yo mismo, buscando música relativamente desconocida, temas difíciles de encontrar, he terminado hallándolos en blogs, lo que me hizo plantearme un blog propio con la esperanza de que a otras personas les ocurriese lo mismo con el mío.

La otra, muy importante, es que Dentro del árbol es un marco para desarrollar mi escritura, algo que tenía bastante abandonado. Cuando me apetece dar el tostón sobre algún grupo o artista musical, reflexiones de índole filosófica o de la vida cotidiana, me siento delante del teclado y el blog se convierte en otra vía de expresión y en un ejercicio práctico. Lo cierto es que es alentador. De no ser así lo hubiera dejado tarde o temprano. Aunque no descarto dejarlo algún día, que todo tiene un final. ¿Por qué “Dentro del Árbol”? El árbol es un símbolo de la vida… la solemnidad de un árbol milenario es una de las imágenes más serenas y pacíficas en las que puedo pensar. “Dentro” de él, porque pienso desde dentro, sobre lo de fuera, que es lo de dentro también.

Me gustar pensar en el “dentro”, y aplicarlo a las relaciones personales y los diálogos entre uno mismo y el mundo.

Siempre se está mejor dentro.

¿Quiénes más están ahí dentro, contigo? Pues no pienso en un perfil concreto de lector o lectora. Ni el contenido ni el enfoque son tendenciosos ni están dirigidos. El blog recibe visitas variopintas porque abarca unos aspectos amplios, dentro de lo limitado de, al menos, estar interesado en la cultura, saber escuchar y querer escuchar. ¿Cómo te posicionas ante la “blogosfera”? Creo que el concepto de “blog personal” supone una vía de expresión diferenciable de todas las demás, que permite añadir algo valioso al mundo de la información. Aunque claro, suele pasar… como en todas las cosas, hay mucho blog basura en mi opinión. Es como casi todo, supongo, como usar Internet sólo para chatear o visitar páginas para adultos, que no digo que no se deba… pero Internet ofrece muchísimas posibilidades de enriquecimiento intelectual. Una de ellas puede ser y es un blog. ¿Qué tal con los lectores? De ellos y ellas no obtengo una participación masiva, pero para mí no es necesaria ni imprescindible… lo lee más gente aparte de los que dejan comentarios (a quienes mando un afectuoso saludo desde aquí, PeterPan, P. Galvez, Conejo Blanco, Dudo, Bozoko/Bazokillo, tula y otros que se me olvidan ahora).

PS: No dejen pasar por alto las interesantes encuestas que Ahab nos propone cada cierto tiempo… Resulta casi imposible no contestar cada vez

“El amor es una cuestión de oportunidad, de nada sirve encontrar a la persona idónea demasiado pronto o demasiado tarde…”; al oír de nuevo esta afirmación, procedente de la novela que escribe el personaje protagonista del film ‘2046’ (deliciosa obra realizada a base de fotogramas cargados de la nostalgia más poética del director chino Wong Kar-Wai), advertí que, con el cine, ocurre algo similar. Después de todo, la afición a este arte constituye una auténtica pasión para muchos.

Woody Allen, Diane Keaton en “Annie Hall” Lo cierto es que el interés con el que visionamos ciertas películas responde asimismo, en muchos casos, a coyunturas temporales. Y es por ello, a mi entender, por lo que una cinta cuyo visionado pasó en su día por nuestras retinas sin pena ni gloria, regresa, en el momento justo, para que nos enamoremos irremediablemente de ella; o, cómo un director que te ponía de los nervios, pasa a formar parte de tus imprescindibles.

Hay veces en las que estas relaciones de amor-odio te llevan de cabeza a la consulta del psicoanalista. Yo tuve el honor de sentarme en el diván de la mano de todo un experto en la materia, Woody Allen, a quien hace apenas una década habría matado a sangre fría si me lo hubiese encontrado al salir del cine.

Su tartamudeo, su inseguridad y su existencialismo exacerbado alimentaban mi odio hacia este neoyorkino esmirriado que, de repente, un día me cautivó justamente por los mismos motivos que me habían llevado a detestarlo. Los seres humanos somos así, contradictorios; ésta fue la primera lección que aprendí en mi particular terapia junto a Allen, en la que me presentó a una vieja amiga, la señorita Annie Hall. Ahí fue cuando lo entendí todo, con un simple chiste: ‘aquel del tipo que va al psiquiatra y le dice: Doctor, mi hermano está loco, cree que es una gallina. Y el doctor responde: ¿Pues por qué no lo mete en un manicomio? Y el tipo le dice: Lo haría, pero necesito los huevos. Pues, eso más o menos es lo que pienso sobre las relaciones humanas, ¿saben?, son totalmente irracionales y locas y absurdas,

La vida es un chiste, así de fácil, y así de terrible. Este choque lo refleja como nadie el genio de Manhattan, el judío más hipocondriaco y cobardica del cine, el director más absurdo y surrealista, uno de los grandes, una leyenda viva que, con 75 años, sigue manteniendo intacto su ritmo de trabajo, regalándonos una película por año.

La vida es un chiste, y en nuestra mano esta reírnos o no de ella, de nosotros mismos, tan pomposos a veces, tan petulantes, tan ególatras…eso es lo que nos dicen las películas de Allen, algunas auténticas joyas, como por ejemplo ‘Misterioso asesinato en Manhattan’

(1993), hilarante comedia de enredo con una brillante Diane Keaton y con numerosas referencias al mejor cine clásico (esa escena final del tiroteo frente a los espejos, homenaje a ‘La dama de Shanghai’ (Orson Welles, 1947) es impagable). Pocas veces me he reído tanto como con ‘La maldición del escorpión de Jade’ (2001), ‘Balas sobre Broadway’ (1994), ‘Hannah y sus hermanas’ (1986), ‘Días de radio’ (1987) o la mas reciente ‘Scoop’ (2006).

Es cierto que Woody también sabe ponerse serio (‘Match point’ (2005), ‘September’ (1987)…), pero me gusta más cuando se viste de cómico, cuando nos contagia su legendaria claustrofobia mientras repite aquello de que ‘la única manera de ser feliz es que te guste sufrir’. ¿Otra contradicción?

Well, a bit late, given that a few weeks have passed since the New Year began, we want to wish you many years of fruitful projects, creativity and inspiration. We will go on here another year for you, with new goals and hopes. We would like to thank all the staff of SobredosisDeCafeina their commitment with this project; thanks to the collaborators for letting us show their world; and thanks as well, no doubt to all that people that help us in many ways for this magazine to get to more people.

What happiness, we are at the peak of the Christmas days, snow, smiles, peace, solidarity, the snow, snowmen, sledges and the skating rinks… Wait, wait!!! Are you telling me that this does not happen there where you live? So you are right, so I will explain you how Christmas works.

Christmas is a date where families get on well, or they are so hypocritical according to the point of view, it is a date where families eat and drink as if everything is going to expire and where all the existing money is spent to demonstrate our beloved ones how much we love them.

At Christmas there is no snow, at least in Almeria, whose great part is a desert, that it is where I use to spend these days, where apart of the absence of the snow, there is also absence of cold and rain. Where is it that Christmas atmosphere?

At Christmas, junk TV turns to even more junk TV, with a continuous bombing of

advertisement telling us to buy more and more, and the typical small child shouting “I want that!” to every advertisement that he sees, to which you begin to go ahead on a rage mode because of his speed at the time of saying “I want that”, and do not leave anything for you, the child even asks for Hugo Boss cologne, the new book of Vargas Llosa, and that photo camera that you want so much, so everything turns into a battle to get the advert with the most wished object.

At Christmas it is fantastic to walk through the shopping malls and the streets of the city centre, oh! It was not that what I wanted to say but the contrary, to visit any shopping place uses to be a complete odyssey. First you have the anxiety and the stress produced by masses of people stressed till the extreme trying to find the right gift for each one. Secondly we have the fantastic background music that delights us with great hits like: White Christmas or Holy night. Those melodies are the American idol of Christmas, the most played songs in your better shopping shops.

Thirdly we have something that uses to happen in small cities like Almeria, we add to the stress, to the masses of people, to that repetitive music, the nerves that make you suspect that any of the persons to whom you are going to gift something is hanging around, because in the city there is just one shopping mall and not too many streets with gifts shops where everyone goes to get their gifts.

Summing up, I love Christmas, because although you cannot put a foot on overpopulated places, although the small child does not stop asking for gifts, there is no snow and we have to keep up appearances, these days are the perfect excuse to meet friends and cheers. That is why I cheer for all of you.

“Automatic burial of a writing from the subconscious” The body is dissolved with the paints, each time I seem smaller before the tinctures. I always smoke waiting for the dawn. Many descendants from virile misogynist members, accommodated and tranquil, always between thighs; me, without label, without tricks, maybe I will belong to the paints locked in a drawer.

When it rains, I always get wet on the inner part. My outside me is tired and my soul between baskets of dirty clothes. I will never understand symptoms like envy. I will never understand that notion of living day a day.

I asked to be Mr. Fool and it grew on me a red nose. I am not happy, but neither sad. I remember when the tailor wove the yarns of disaster on the hottest three-month period of the year. The sound of the clock hands always sounds different when they walk on the contrary. The sound of air bubbles dancing in your skin sounds always different when we have a bath in the same sanctuary.

There are so many spells and so much to do with little words… It told it to me a white widow that swinging in that dark and gloomy corner, looked so tiny that I could crumble it in a rice paper. From it an intense incense that brushed me, stole my face and blessed me with the sin of trance, Does the heart lack of knowing to grow up?

To Madrid we travelled the students of the 2º course of Graphic Design from the School of Art of Granada. The trip, organized by the school and that made us go and return from Madrid in just one day, was mainly to visit the II Latin American biennial exposition of /37

Design at the restructured local slaughter house. As I was one of the few that followed the guides during the short talk they gave us about the exhibition, the director of SDC has asked me to write a small review.

The first thing they emphasized was the little budget they had counted with. The difficulties at the time of exhibit the woks physically and the vicissitudes of some of them to arrive to Madrid, even, through the diplomatic bag. The lack of money is replaced by ingenuity, using cheap materials or recycled material. Foil to separate the rooms working as partition walls, cardboard boxes as display stands, paper shavings and other elements with which they get the impression (looked for them) of being watching the objects at the time of receiving and unwrapping them.

Something that is clear after the explanations is the idiosyncrasy of this edition, through its parallel themes. It is about promoting “the design for everyone” and “the design for development”, giving preference to designs that fit these characteristics. Explaining this idea in easier words, designs that count on with any kind of people, condition, age, capacities…as well as they help the growth through useful designs for its socio-cultural environment.

Now expressing my opinion and the one of my classmates with whom I talked about the exhibition, I liked the solution they gave to the lack of resources. I did not like the distribution of the designs by countries; I would have preferred it had been done by types of design, in order to go straight to whatever it interests you. Maybe a better management of information would have made this situation less thorny.

According to the proper designs, we could find very interesting typographies, good packaging and panel works for all likes. There is some corporative identity that 38\

shows the good level of designs we can find at the Southern Cone. The Spanish works chosen are of a high quality, having as its maximum indicator to Isidro Ferrer. I think that these kinds of designs are the ones that less fulfils the premises of this exhibition, although they are also the most difficult ones to adapt.

As a summary, if you are in Madrid and you have some free time, I recommend you to go and visit this exhibition; to go to Madrid and return the same day it is something I will not recommend.

__ PAGE 12_ Caffeine Review. _ Nadadora.

It is said that the third album of a band is the one of their confirmation, an aspect we can talk about for hours and that it would have forceful defenders or authentic detractors, but what it leads us to say this, it is the review of this month that it is not other one than the publication of the third album of the band from Galicia (Spain), Nadadora, whose title is Luz, Oscuridad, Luz (Ernie Producciones, 2010).

From my point of view they have confirmed their project, and dearly confirmed. This band had already warned of what they could do and the truth is that they have given a punch on the table to say, hey dudes, we have landed again and no one would move us from this music scene.

The title of the album could not be more right, because through the 11 tracks of the album, these guys invite us to a journey where abound the chiaroscuros; all that adorned with a sweet voice like Sara´s, that at the same time and just to give an example, is mingled in a marvellous duet with Gonzalo, as it happens in one of my favourite songs, “Deshazte de Mi”.

In a general analysis, the album is a

jewel, full of precious elements that every time you listen to it, the list of tinges is even larger. Melancholic and heartrending guitar rhythms, sensual vocals that undress you mind, measured bass and drums, and keyboards that make songs gain depth.

Highlighted songs are “1987” and “El Sueño Ardiendo”, which follow the line of a very marked Indie Pop to which they had right accustomed us. But from my point of view, the best of the album is the trilogy formed by “Siempre”, “Una Nueva Vida” and “Deshazte de Mi”. These songs could define the essence of the disc; an authentic contrast and a constant mixture of lights and sonorous images. They are marked by a British sound, full of guitars that show its strength, the mixture of voices, lights, summing up, a way of moving our inner parts taking us from ecstasy to melancholy just in a guitar punch; simply genial.

As a summary, this album is one of those that make you think given the high level of lyrics, the more you listen to it, more things will you find. An album that is truly directed to the soul, and very deep indeed.

__ PAGE 13_ Interview _ MAGNETICA. Captivated is the best adjective that could best define the state of mind in which we are after having listened the greatest debut album from the band from Madrid Magnètica, band formed by Aksel (Electric guitar and vocalist), Davile (Acoustic guitar and vocalist) and Israel (Bass), as well as two deluxe collaborators as they are Juan Carlos (Leading guitar) and Daniel (Drummer).

This first album settles the idea that with patience, humility and hard work, a band can release so personal albums like the one presented here.

Their hallmark is more than well cared lyrics with which you can feel yourself fully identified apart of musical arrangements full of exquisiteness.

Given that they came to Grenade to present the album, “Maida Vale”, we could not resist the idea of watching them alive and ask them a few questions.

From the concert, just say that it was even more captivating than the studio album given the strength they displayed on the stage. It is quite obvious that we are hooked to Magnètica.

Pez de Plomo, your single, talks about resignation in life. Is music for you a way of non-conforming towards which is supposed that it is already established? Davile: Yeah, as you well say, it is a song that talks precisely about that, of some moments in which you decide to keep what we already have, of non assuming higher goals, and talks about the daily routine of a couple that stop being what they were at the beginning. Actually, music for us is that, a way of putting out many of the things that worry us and we think they are important, always with humility, but we are not going to resign ourselves with which we have now, we enjoy and value each moment, but the idea is to go on growing and be able to reach everyday a bit further and that people know us better.

You have received very good critics about “Maida Vale”. Why do you think this album is so attractive for the people? Aksel: The truth is that we are really happy with the critics we have received and it flatters you to go on working on this line. We believe that what makes people like the album is that it is well done, apart that it is an album made with much love, we have been producing it for a long time, we spent a lot of time composing it at the rehearsals…So, with that conditions it can be attractive to them. /39

When you were in London, Did you have any idea about what you wanted to do?

Davile: Actually, individually as well as a band we have been composing for so long, there are those who say that we have just landed on the scene, and it is quite true because the project of Magnètica is not too old, but on our personal projects as well as in other bands projects, we have been in the business for a long time. There were song composed by us three, and from there, many of them are included in the album; most of them were written in England, but as an idea, as a concept, we opted to form the band; by the way there are many songs that were eliminated, and the only skeleton is that one: Years of making songs, composing, as well as years of moving like satellites around music.

So you still have many others to release a second album, don’t you?

Israel: Yeah, we have enough material to release more than one record, what it happens is that for this one, we wanted to get the songs that as a whole meant something, had a common message, as if it were a movie: We have written a script that fitted on this first album.

Why have you decided to set up Artilugio Records to give way to the album? Aksel: We have really created it to depend on ourselves, we think that it was the best option, mainly, because all the decisions had to be approved by us, we have nothing against record companies, that makes a good job as well, but it is true that we have more security doing the things on our own.

For example, we decided about the clip, the design of the album that was done by David Leal; it was us who said yes… So, it is like that you have to agree about all this things in order to take it out.

How do you assess the experience of having worked with the same producers of 40\

Vetusta Morla? Israel: It was by chance, we were looking for a studio and Vetusta was also recording their first album…We did not know how they were going to sound neither the impact their music was going to have on the Spanish scene.

The truth is that it was great to have recorded with them, Javibu and Manu are two great professionals, they have given us a sound, they have marked us the way to follow, they said that they would accompany us through this trip and they have done it fucking well… Today we are still in contact with them, they have contributed to the album with all the experienced they had, and they have made us to take out all the best we had as musicians.

Are your songs a way of giving way to your inner thoughts or worries?

Davile: Yeah, it is a bit of therapy, a way of escaping, as you say, a way of cleaning ourselves from the insight and try to share with everyone the state of mind in which you are and become bad situations in something profitable, because everyone has gone through good or bad times, but if you can have any profit from those situations, and in our case that profit is a new track, with which people can be identified, and that it transmits something to the listener, it is exactly that the greatest blandishment; but actually, the end that has for us the idea of writing songs is to take out from us what it worries us, what we are living in that moment , and maybe, going back to what you said before, it is also one of the keys of why the album can be more attractive to the audience; because we are not talking about uncommon themes, neither about anything unknown. The songs are simply close to the people because they talk about situations that everyone lives, they do not make them different to us…so actually it is that…therapy.

In this technological world, what do you think about those digital music platforms like Spotify or web pages like Myspace? Do they help the artist; they damage the record companies or the other way round?

Aksel: In this case, the record company are us, so it can not harm us very much; but we think that it is an advantage, logically, the Internet is a springboard that can make a band visible to the whole world, and your music can be listened by a huge majority of people that through other ways it would be inconceivable. For us, it is fundamental to look after our social networks, apart of knowing people that through the Internet can know about your music; anyone that takes the time to listen our songs makes us feel satisfied.

Israel: it is a little too early to decide if this help or have anything good or not from it, giving the changes that this industry is suffering. A priori yes, because you make your band visible, it opens the bands a new path, and it seems that the record companies are lagging behind…So that is why we decided to settle our own, but really, Do the social networks contribute in any aspect to the development of the bands? At the right moment in which they become in a mass, of course not, you are going to receive so much information… that you would accept and you go on to other matters, you would just listen to that band that drive your attention.

I think that there is something dangerous in that, the music is going to be unnoticed on Myspace. Of course now you have an easier access to music, before you had to buy the album but now you can enter the website, the blog of the band…but at the time of spread it, it is a double-sided weapon that only time will say what it will happen.

Being supportive is, really, whatever you want it to be.

Approximately nine months ago, I shared on my wall one of those articles that looks interesting: A flotilla of more or less 6 six ships with humanitarian help are leading to Palestine in order to try breaking the Israeli blockade. “What a bunch of nuts”, I thought.

“This people have courage defying Israel.

They have managed to get that quantity of ships leaving from different ports around the world. Tricky business, this is going to be interesting”. And like the one who awaits the end of an exciting football match, I began to follow the trip of the flotilla; a mixture of excitement, uncertainty and certain air of hope invaded me each time I entered the net to see where had arrived the damn and daring flotilla.

May 2010: Israel board the flotilla killing 9 people.

Uncertainty was over. The victory goal scored by the Israeli army whistled the end of the match, as so many other times.

“Mmm, this does not sound strange to me”, I thought. So I began reading articles about the matter. The difference of contents from one media to other was incredible. So I did something I had never done before and telling to myself: “And why not?. I am not doing harm to anyone”, so I took a decision: “Add Manuel Tapial as a friend” A few days later…

“Manuel Tapial has accepted your friend request” And so it was as I knew from first hand, what it had really happened on that ship where 9 people died, chatting through Facebook with Manuel Tapial, one of the Spanish activists who travelled with the flotilla.

It would be too much to tell you all the details that Manuel told me, with which without a doubt it would make your guts /41

turned around. With him, many laws we are used to defend and are used to enjoy every day are violated.

But I will leave those details apart because I would like to concentrate on the positive side that has been for me that attack…Curiously!!!

From my chats with Manuel, I realized that I could not be more time with my arms folded: “For God´s sake, this people has joined to lead ships with humanitarian help, how am I not going to be able to do something? I cannot bear this, I have to do something!!

And the beach party came along. The beach of El Cable in Marbella as the scenery and the celebration of a birthday were the perfect event and moment for my idea to start. So without shame, with a beer in my hand and a bit tipsy given the hour it was, I neared a group of friends and I asked them the million question: “Would you be able to play for free for a good cause?” And so everything began.

At the beginning, some people was a bit reluctant, they thought it was the thought of a person influenced by alcohol, and I do not blame them; but step by step, I began to run the project: Look for a place, last band, do the posters, print the tickets, organize the raffle, call the media…

And in a pair of moths the festival arrived.

Terrasana as the scenery and a Rock festival were the event and the perfect moment to run together the engine of Marbella of this new challenge. There was good music; good food; Marea and Extremoduro, two legendary rock bands from Spain contributed sending T-shirts, drumsticks and Cd´s for the raffle. And there was even more, apart of the account of a Palestine boy and the projection of a video about what it really happened with the flotilla: The reading of a solemn poem about Palestine that allowed us to listen to the voice of those who cannot express themselves.

It was without a doubt an emotive 42\

moment in which the electric guitars stopped playing songs for the kids of Gaza and allowed us to hear the cries of Palestine.

And we could hear them along those two minutes that longed the poem. And we felt proud of having passed there that Sunday afternoon together.

So as every ship joined to form the first flotilla, that afternoon, musicians, waiters and friends joined together to mark a difference. From the person that bought the ticket till the one who donated 50 euros for construction, every of us participated helping the Palestine population in Gaza.

We achieved to sell around 200 tickets, a bit more than 1.300 euros that will be destined to fill the ships with humanitarian help that will lead to Gaza in March 2011.

Being supportive is the capacity to exploit everything we have inside and from us depend the shine we want to give to it.

There are many ways to do it this is just one more. Thanks very much for your support. Thanks to everyone for making the world, on that so special afternoon, a better place to live in.

After their TV appearance in Dup, it is sure

that this band would have woken up the interest of more fans, but in my opinion, it has just been so, a little help, because the place they occupy now inside the national rock scene is fully deserved: Having profits sweated out of them, working hard, and the most important, they believe themselves that this project will have a good ending.

They have released a new album, Sujetokaina (Maldito Digital, 2010), What a better excuse to talk with them about the past, present and future of band that will miss a lot of talk.

Could you tell us how Sujeto K was born and how were your beginnings? At the beginning it came up as a parallel project to have a good time: Tol (vocalist) and Kapo (drummer) played together in the band Daze of Dawn, meanwhile Suayo (guitarist) did the same in Sumo´fobia. We got together to make some gigs and be able to do play a more festive style. A little time later, Susurros,(guitarist), joined us, he had also been member of Daze of Dawn, we recorded the first EP and we began to make gigs. When we won the competition at a national level Emergenzza, we realized that we should devote ourselves totally to Sujeto K, so we abandoned the other projects in which we were taking part. Just after having recorded our first album, “Resujetokados”, Susurros abandoned the band due to personal affairs, so we incorporated Novo 2.0, and with him the actual formation of the band was closed.

What has meant your TV appearance in DUP? At a personal level, it has been a very funny experience as well as we had a good reward!!! At a band level, it has meant that many more people have listened to our music. Since our appearance, we have seen that more people come to our concerts.

What do you think (musically talking) that Sujeto K has, that other bands from

the Spanish panorama lack? Above all, I would say that it is the good vibes that we transmit with our songs and in our concerts.

Normally, Metal bands are seen as obscure, bad humoured, and we always try to see things from an optimistic or funny point of view. We make hard music, but also with good humour and irony. At a musical level, we use to make music you can dance, in order for people to have a good time at the gigs, we always compose having in mind our live shows, as we think that they are our best trick. Anyway, we also have more serious songs and more profound lyrics; we have always liked variety…

Which have been the changes since the publication of the first album till this second one? So, as mainly any band would say, I think that it is maturity. In “Resujetokados”, there are good songs but now in “Sujetokaina”, the songs sound more polished, and you can notice that in the sound as well as in the production. At a musical level, the style has not changed much, although maybe in “Sujetokaina” there is more Fusing of styles…

What do you expect of this second album?

Simply to step on. Music is a long-distance race, and what you have to do is to go on growing. With the first album we gained a name at the Valencian Community, and with this second album we are expanding through Spain. We have realized that this last album has had more repercussion, now when we play gigs outside Valencia, we see that there are many more people that know and follow us.

From the first listen, we hear a rich, varied and more than wise mix of styles, but, Could you explain us which is your musical style?

Well, we have named it Beer Metal, because of the party we make on the live shows, but sometimes it can be confusing because people can think that our music follows the /43

style of Epic Metal or German Metal, but nothing further from reality. So when we try to explain which is our style we say that it is Festive Metal. In Sujeto K, you can listen to many styles, reggae, punk, funk, rock, but always from a very hard point of view.

Finally, how is it presented your concert agenda for the following months? Right now, we begin the second part of the Desenphreno Tour that will take us to Valencia, Madrid or Bilbao, among other places. You can follow the tour on our MySpace or through our website.

I“BEING INSIDE IS ALWAYS BETTER…” (dentrodelarbol.blogspot.com) Inside the tree it is a blog where to stop, without hurries. To savour. In it there are exposed in one or other way (images, paintings, music, texts…) the thoughts or likes of its author.

After several reviews with certain importance at a media level (Malviviendo, El Bute, Ciudad K…) it was worthwhile to refuel and stretch the muscles on a web page that redefines as little the concept of “web-log” to transmute it into the concept of “Blog-Zine”, where culture and mainly the musical one is always read in capital letters, independently of how it is typed.

Miguel Angel Gonzalez, master of ceremonies, is a musician and radio broadcaster, and uses as a blogger, the pseudonym of Ahab, in reference to the character created by Melville in Moby Dick.

The miscellany of the diary makes difficult (luckily in this case, and each time there are little…) to make a trustworthy review. And 44\

it is here where the surname “personal” of the blog´s proper name acquires a special dimension: It is a blog that sure enough is written by a person positioned before Art, music, literature, even the proper monotony.

In front of one of the web pages more documented that I could find through my voyage in SDC (Miguel faces with high rigor and dedication, the publication of each post). Not much to say but the invitation to “enter” and for that we use the interview format. Thanks to the immense generosity and availability of Miguel: What did it make you begin a blog? A few friends encouraged me to do it, and the idea was interesting but at the same time it looked so far away: I did not think that I could contribute with anything new to the blog world. But once I thought about it better, it seemed to me something interesting by two main reasons: Many times, myself, looking for music relatively unknown, rare tracks, I have finally found them in blogs, what it made me consider the idea of creating one with the hope that it happened to other people the same that happened to me.

The other one, very important, is that Dentro del arbol is the perfect frame to develop my writing, something that I had abandoned. When I want to pester with any band or musical artist, philosophical reflections, I take my sit in front of the computer and the blog becomes in other way of expression as well as a practical exercise. The truth is that it is encouraging.

If it was not like this I would have given this up sooner or later. Although I do not dismiss to give it.

Why inside the tree? The tree is a symbol of life… The solemnity of a millenary tree is one of the more peaceful and tranquil images in which I can think about. Inside it, because I think from the insight about what

it is out, that it is at the same time in. I love thinking in the idea of inside and apply it to the personal relations and the dialogues between oneself and the world. Being inside is always better.

Who else is there inside with you? Well, I do not think on the exact profile of reader. Not the content, neither the focus is tendentious or are directed to anyone.

The blog has visits from any kind of people because it covers large aspects, inside the limit of, at least, being interested in culture, know and want to listen.

Which is your position towards the blog-sphere? I think that the concept of a personal blog means a way of expression clearly differentiated of the other ones, which allows you to add something valuable to the information world. But surely, as it uses to happen…as in many other aspects there are many screw blogs. I suppose that it can be equivalent as to use the Internet just to chat or visit pages only for adults, I am not saying that it should not be done… but the Internet offers many possibilities of intellectual enrichment. One of them can be and it is a blog.

How is it the relation with the readers?

From them I do not obtain a massive participation, but for me it is not totally necessary…it is read by more people than the ones who read and leave their comments, to whom I salute from here, PeterPan, P. Galvez, Conejo Blanco, Dudo, Bozoko/Bazokillo, tula and other ones that I forget now.

PD: Do not miss the interesting surveys that Ahab propose from time to time… It is almost impossible not to answer…

__ PAGE 26_ Cinema “Love is a matter of opportunity, it is

useless to find the right person too soon or too late…”; Hearing again this statement, taken from the novel that writes the main character of the film “2046”, delicious work done on the basis of stills charged with the most poetic nostalgia of the Chinese director Wong Kar-Wai, I realized that with cinema, it happens something similar.

After all, the liking to this art constitutes an authentic passion for many people.

The truth is that the interests with which we see certain films answer also, in many cases, to temporary circumstances. And it is for this, in my opinion, the reason why a tape like this passed unnoticed before our eyes, it comes back at the right moment, for us to inevitably fall in love with it; or how a director that enervated you, turns to be of your essential ones.

Sometimes these love-hate relations lead you inevitably to the psychoanalyst. I had that honor of sitting down on the couch helped by an expert on the matter as it is Woody Allen, to whom not further than a decade I would have killed in cold blood if I had not found him going out from the cinema.

His stammering, his insecurity, his running high existentialism fed my hate towards this skinny New Yorker that, suddenly, one day, captivated me exactly by the same reasons that made me detesting him. Human beings are like this, contradictory; this was the first lesson I learned on my particular therapy with Allen, in which he showed me an old friend, Ms Annie Hall. It was then when I understood everything, with a simple joke: “that one of the guy who goes to the psychiatrist and tells him: Doctor, my brother is mad, he thinks himself a hen.

And the doctor answers: So, why don´t you cluster him in a lunatic asylum? And the guy says: I would do it but the matter is that I need the eggs. So it is more or less what I think about human relations, they are /45

totally irrational, mad, absurd, but I suppose that we still maintain them because the majority of us need the eggs”. Who can refute these words? Not me.

Life is a joke, so easy, so terrible. This crash reflects as no one the genius of Manhattan, the most hypochondriac and coward Jewish of the cinema, the most absurd and surrealist director, one of the greatest, a living legend that at the age of 75, he still maintains untouched his work rhythm, gifting us a film per year.

Life is a joke, and in our hand we have the decision of laughing or not of it, of ourselves, so pompous sometimes, so self-satisfied, so egomaniac…that is what Allen films tell us, some are authentic jewels, for example “Manhattan Murder Mystery (1993), hilarious comedy with a brilliant Diane Keaton as well as numerous references to classic cinema (that final scene of the shooting in front of the mirrors, tribute to “The Lady From Shanghai” (Orson Wells,1947) is unpayable). Not many times I have laughed so much as with The Curse of the Jade Scorpion” (2001), Bullets over Broadway (1994), Hannah and her Sisters” (1986), Radio Days (1987) or the most recent “Scoop” (2006).

It is true that Woody also knows how to turn serious (“Match Point”, 2005, “September”, 1987), but I prefer him when he gets dressed as a comic, when he transmits us his legendary claustrophobia meanwhile repeats “the only way of being happy is that you like to suffer”. Other contradiction? So what I said…

Behind this crazy and funny story there exists a work of almost two years long since its first ideas and conception till 46\

its public appearance. In it, it comes together the knowledge and development about the matter (Child´s psychology, the importance of tales on the child´s growing, how to tell a tale, braille language…), technical execution (Modelling, illumination, 3D animation, vectorial 2D illustration, innovative techniques for braille printing, editorial design…) and various resources and tools for marketing (Promotion, advertisement, adapted web for screen readers, social means…).

The creators are Rafael Chica, Visual communicator and graphic designer (www.koonkoko.com); Ana Celia Parras, journalist and broadcaster in Cope Radio in Guadix and Jesus Carreras, journalist and contents coordinator on the digital edition of La Opinion de Granada. And the trigger of this mess is a small girl called Elena, Ana Celia´s niece, who wanted her favourite aunt invented a new tale she had never heard of and so let her imagination flow.

Today,www.mediopollomediocerdo. com is the official web site where we can find all the characters, animation videos, all the necessary information related with the tale (Including the making of created in a TV serial format called Creativos), a blog with all the news (Pigs Today), an online shop where to buy the tale, a totally free audio version (Audiocuento) and a pile of entertaining and joker contests with fabulous prizes as well an active presence on the main social networks as Facebook, Twitter and Youtube.

Lifting the sight, it is discerned a label consolidation, T-shirts, digital versions for the iBook Store by Apple and Google Books, free digital material and a possible animation series in webisodes for the Intenet…Kikiri koooink oooink!!

Mediopollo Medio Cerdo (Half chicken,
