MISSION BRINGS HOLIDAY JOY TO NURSING HOME RESIDENTS

The City of Mission brought the joy of the holiday season to elderly residents through its second annual Operation Holiday: Adopt-a-Grandparent program. On December 12, 2024, community donations helped make this heartwarming initiative possible, as city leaders, firefighters, and police officers joined forces to deliver over 500 care packages to two local nursing homes. Alongside the gifts, the Sharyland ISD choir added a festive touch with beautiful Christmas carols, creating a memorable celebration for all.

This program reflects Mission’s dedication to supporting residents of all ages, especially during the holidays. By dedicating time to visiting with elderly community members and sharing small tokens of kindness, the city aims to ensure no one feels forgotten during this special time of year. Smiles, laughter, and gratitude shared during the event captured the true spirit of the holiday season.
