The IMAS Brew-seum Beer Dinner was hosted at the beautiful, new University Draft House Town Lake at Fireman’s Park and featured a four-course meal paired with Rogue Ales. Museum supporters enjoyed a lovely evening with live music by Jake Cortez on the pati, all in support of the International Museum of Art & Science.

As your mayor and as a physician, I am proud to report that one year later we have already started vaccinating the most vulnerable populations in our community and are well underway to continue vaccinating our entire community as immunization phases allow. Vaccinating our citizens remains a priority as we aim to return to a new normal. Throughout this year we have also focused our efforts on helping our small businesses with resources, grants, and assistance so they can safely continue to operate and serve our community. These extra efforts have allowed our businesses to open safely and responsibly. Just recently, Governor Greg Abbott announced that all businesses would be allowed to operate at 100% capacity. As vaccination efforts remain underway, we encourage everyone to wear a mask and continue to follow all CDC guidelines. Personal responsibility is paramount! This year has been challenging to say the least however, our Pharr community has remained dedicated to serving our citizens, while helping our businesses prosper. Please continue to exercise all health and safety guidelines and remember that our community and our health matter. Let’s continue to responsibly manage the spread of COVID-19! Sincerely, Mayor Ambrosio Hernandez, M.D.
