LOOKING FOR A LOVING HOME
SHELTER OF THE MONTH
Palm Valley Animal Society
Palm Valley Animal Society (PVAS) is the largest animal shelter in the Rio Grande Valley, taking in more than 15,000 pets every year. PVAS currently contracts with five cities and Hidalgo County at large to provide sheltering services for RGV pets in need. In addition to shelter services, PVAS also has a Pet Resources Center that provides selfsupported rehoming, food and pet supplies, access to virtual behavior training options, and much more to help keep pets out of the shelter and with their families. PVAS is working with its partners to create innovative ways to serve the needs of pets and their people and expand lifesaving shelter practices to have a safe, humane community.
You can melt with one look from Arko. His eyes are filled with so much warmth and gratitude. It’s almost unbelievable that he is going on 250 days in care. He enjoys being the center of attention and will bring joy to everyone he meets, including other dogs. His high energy makes for a great companion in any aspect, whether you need a running partner or a pet for your pet. Minda is looking for a big family she can call her own. She has been with us since July 2021, which is over 200 days! Minda is a very affectionate, mid-energy sweetheart. She would love to take some strolls around the neighborhood with the family.

Penny is a ‘lil cutie and would love to be adopted. She’s a very social girl but more of a low-energy dog overall. While she’s great at socializing with other dogs, she mostly enjoys exploring outside, but when around other dogs, she is very playful and tolerant with them. She loves treats and will even sit for them! Septimus is a two-year-old male Coonhound. He’s a big boy weighing 61 pounds. He has been at PVAS since 2021 and is anxious to be adopted into a loving home. He is a sweet boy who loves to play and go for walks.
