Edinburg's 3rd Memorial Run: Tribute, Resilience & Unity

Commemorating the fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives, the City of Edinburg hosted the 3rd Annual 9/11 Patriot Day of Remembrance 5K Memorial Run/Walk on Saturday, September 9, 2023.

Now in its third year, this poignant event served as a powerful testament to the enduring spirit and unity that arose from the tragic events of September 11, 2001. The 5K Memorial Run paid tribute to the fallen and symbolized resilience and solidarity. It was a heartfelt tribute to both the first responders who rushed to the scene in New York City that fateful day and those who continue to serve Edinburg.

In addition to the 5K, a free Honorary Walk of 911 steps took place at 9:11 a.m. The walk provided an opportunity for anyone wishing to honor the courageous men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice 22 years ago on that unforgettable day. The event was a moving reminder of the indomitable spirit of unity that endures in the face of adversity.
