Adolf Hitler
Primary Source:
This is a picture of Adolf Hitler as a baby. I thought this was a good picture because it’s hard to imagine that everyone that was evil was once innocent. I also thought it would be a good picture is because it really shows a lot about Hitler. I think that this picture links into the book because it shows Hitler at his youngest age. Secondary Source: For my second source I chose my book called Adolf Hitler written by James Cross Giblin. I have chosen this source because it tells me a lot about Adolf Hitler that I did not know already. Something’s in this book struck me. For example I did not know that Hitler served in the army in WWl I also didn’t know that Hitler was homeless in Vienna. The book also taught me that Hitler went to jail because he was discriminating Jews as a politician. In my opinion this is a very interesting excerpt from the book: (PG133) “To provide an excuse for the attack and win the support for it from the German people, the SS staged a series of border incidents on the night of August 31st. Disguised as Poles, SS commandos attacked a German forestry station, set a fire to a customs building, and seized a radio station from which they broadcast antiGerman slogans.” I think that part of the book was very interesting because it shows that Hitler was trying to prove that Poland started the war between Germany and Poland. They did it because they were afraid that German citizens in Germany would have not liked the idea of occupying Poland without reason.
I think that this book was really good because it taught me a lot of things about Hitler that I knew. I would give this book a 9/10. Without it I don’t know if I would have known as much on WWll as I know now. I would recommend this book to everyone who wants to know something about WWll and Hitler. I would recommend this book because it tells a lot about Hitler’s life and a ton about WWll.
Invasion It was the year of 1945 the allied invaders were slowly creeping into Germany. The tension in Berlin was rising fast. Russia was breaking through the front lines east of Germany. Americans were tearing up from the south. England was fearlessly defeating everyone in the west. Meanwhile in the Führerbunker one of Hitler's guards was getting worried. Klaus was stationed as Hitler's bodyguard. Klaus would stand outside Hitler's office for hours. It's been two months since Hitler moved into his bunker. He does not come out much anymore. You could notice him pacing. Sometimes Klaus could hear sobs coming from the inside of his bedroom. Other times you could hear yelling. On some days it could get really rough. “You idiot!” yelled Hitler. “I’m sorry sir” whispered the officer. “How could you lose him?” Hitler questioned. “But….” “Sorry isn’t enough!” Hitler raged. A gunshot went off and blood spilled from under the door. That’s what you get for The allies were already entering Germany and Hitler was desperately trying to stop them from entering. Since the allies were aproaching closer Hitler was making a lot of public speeches and traveling. On April 20, (Hitler’s birthday) he was talking to his youth group in Berlin about the
importance of defending their country. Hitler was giving out medals to all his young suportors. A huge crowd of people had formed to watch the event. It was also the last time he exited his bunker. “We must stop them; we must defend the third Reich!” Hitler announced. The crowd went into cheers. When he was speaking he had a desperate look on his face. Hitler was trying everything he could to stop the allied invaders. Klaus could recall a lot of things from Hitler’s life. Klaus was his most loyal and longest serving bodyguard. He was his bodyguard since Hitler got out of jail. Hitler had always had suicidal thoughts. Minutes before the police came for Hitler he wanted to kill himself but his loyal friend that he considered family stopped him. He was going to be arrested for starting a Nazi group. Klaus could remember when Hitler formed his own party and when he became the great Furher. His headquarters were in Munich. Walking down the main street of Munich was a wonderful view. All the flags with swastikas hanging out windows was amazing. But more recently he remembered when Hitler was almost killed in Wilczyszaniec, Poland by a bomb in his bunker. Hitler had a lot of near death experiences. On April 22 Hitler arranged a meeting with a bunch of his generals, politicians and officers. They were discussing what they are going to do since Russia was getting closer to Berlin. The conference was chaos. “What are we going to do?” asked one politician. “I suggest we counter attack!” yelled another. “Don’t be silly they outnumber us!” countered a general. “Everyone be quiet!” screamed Gobbles. “I will make a proclamation asking for the citizens of Berlin to defend their city.”
At the end of the conference Hitler announced that he will stay in Berlin until the end and then shoot himself. Shortly after midnight on the 29th of April Adolf Hitler and Eva Anna Brown officialy got married inside his bunker. Klaus, Gobbles and a couple of other generals were there to witness the event. On the same night news came from Italy about Benito Mousselines death. This just increased Hitler’s determination not to be captured. On April 30th with the Russians blocks away from Hitlers bunker. The Russian army was bombing the bunker. Hitler and Braun killed themselves. Eva Braun killed herself by biting into a cyanide capsule. Seconds after the death of his wife Hitler shot himself. Klaus carried their bodies to the top of the bunker where he burned them in a bomb crater. After burning the bodies Klaus never returned to the bunker.
