I chose UW and this program because I knew they would challenge me. Both have made me step out of my

I like the extra lens it provides in terms of social justice. One thing I did not expect was how close I’ve become to my cohort. During the year, there are a lot of issues we cope with, and my cohort

MSW ADVANCED STANDING This 10-month, full-time program allows students to complete their degree more quickly and to focus on the area of social work they are most passionate about. The program is for students who have an undergraduate degree in social work or social welfare from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Students begin in midsummer with “bridge” coursework and then, in the fall, join the second-year cohort of the two-year Day Program, selecting a concentration and field placement that builds on their passion.
DP Neopaney Mental Health Practice Kent, WAshington applied to other schools, but when I realized “ Ithat the number-three ranked school of social work is right in my neighborhood, I thought, why not go there? There is a lot of financial support here for students, I can get my MSW in one year, and I could choose from six concentrations, more than most

other schools offer.

MSW EXTENDED DEGREE Our Extended Degree Program offers a part-time path to a master’s degree in social work. With evening or weekend (Friday/Saturday) classes, it’s a popular option for adults who have work or family commitments. Students earn their degree in nine to 11 consecutive quarters, including summers. The first half of the program centers on social justice principles and core practice skills. The second half provides in-depth preparation in either of the following concentrations: • Multigenerational practice with children, family and elders • Integrative health–mental health practice
Nidhi berry
Integrative Health–Mental Health Practice brooklyn, new york The extended degree program is great for “ me. I like how I’m taking what I’ve learned in class and applying it at work and vice versa. A full-time job plus part-time school isn’t easy, but it was a smarter option for me. I’m older than many in my cohort but it’s easy to build friendships.
