Possessive adjectives and Possessive pronouns


Definition: • Possessive adjectives: Possessive adjectives are determiners that modify a noun by attributing possession and/or ownership. • Possessive pronouns: Possessive pronouns replaces a noun, another pronoun or a possessive adjective. They are used to make sentences less repetitive. It also shows ownership, but in a different way.


Examples – Possessive adjectives: 1. That is my car. 2. This is her notebook. 3. This is his pencil. 4. These are our seats. – Possessive pronouns: 1. That car is mine. 2. The notebook is hers. 3. The pencil is his. 4. The seats are ours.


How to use them? • The possessive adjective goes before the noun. • That is my car. Possessive adjective
