PROJECTS
HAYASHI HOUSE
[PIRABEIRABA, BRAZIL] In the Thiago Borges Mendes architecture office, project participation and detailing of the Hayashi house. Moreover, participation in the process of house construction, building site inspection and organization.
AIR TOWER
[ZARAGOZA, SPAIN] Conceptual work developed at the University of Zaragoza (UNIZAR) with the project concept inspired by the strong wind present in the city. For this problem, I developed a tower that interacts with the wind - instead of protecting itself from it. The paintings and sculptures of the painter Palazuelo inspired the four structural blades and openings rhythm, that model the entire project. The housing units that emerge in these intervals assume new configurations and interact directly with the openings and new paths taken by the wind, since the building is seen as a filter that allows the passage of wind.
PUBLIC MARKET SQUARE
[JOINVILLE, BRAZIL] Pubic market square revitalization in Joinville, Brazil. The project takes into account the flow of people circulation, diversity of uses and, from a topography created, areas of rest to sit, read books and enjoy vegetation.
PUG'S APARTMENT
[JOINVILLE, BRAZIL] “I am a single man who lives with his two pug dogs. I work with fashion and visual production and I really like to have dinners and parties with friends in my apartment (but without anyone staying to sleep!). I prefer my intimacy very well reserved. I have lots of clothes and a good closet is essential” [REQUEST FROM THE APARTMENT OWNER].
The apartment is based on the concept of privacy layers. For this reason, the original area for the service has been transformed into storage, cleaning and open area for the dogs, while the laundry has been moved and is attached to the closet (the dirty clothes does not need to be moved around the house). This layer between the social area and the intimate area ensures that there is no direct access between them. Another relevant factor is the washbasin that creates a scenic volume in the living room and also the laundry and kitchen partitions are another important point. By being mobile, allow both the closet and the living room to be increased as required.

BOLSHOI TOWER
[JOINVILLE, BRAZIL] Residential building intended for students of the Ballet Bolshoi School. The south glazed front faรงade is made of dance practice rooms, exposed to the community. On the building roof there are outdoor dance shows and a bleacher (which justifies the building shape). The building's body is made up of residential units merged into living and leisure areas.
PIRAQUARA SCHOOL
PIRAQUARA, BRAZIL [2019] School project for the city of Piraquara and destined to an underdeveloped community. The school is efficient and produces a energy surplus that power other buildings belonging to the city hall. The photovoltaic panels responsible for energy production are integrated into the roof of the sports court. Classrooms with good natural light, cross ventilation, facilitated structural rationalization (which allows the blocks expansion), encouraging learning environments. Backyard, library and sports court are also used by the community that suffers from the lack of social equipment in the region.
[SOLAR DECATHLON COMPETITION 2019] An interdisciplinary team was formed to develop the Piraquara school project that was part of the Solar Decathlon competition, which took place in April/2019. Our team was one of the finalists in Solar Decathlon international competition and we presented our results in the NREL (National Renewable Energy Laboratory), Golden (EUA).
MASTER THESIS
[ENERGY AS AN INPUT FOR DESIGN - UFPR] Research on how energy can be used as an input in the architectural design process, with focusing in the photovoltaic technology integration as part of the building envelope/ Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV). Moreover, this research will become a book, from case studies of good examples with the technology applied in Germany and Switzerland.
