Process Book Project II



About the Project Web design and function is not the same for all kind of bussines. A small boutique has a different layout and probably a different consumer that a big enterprise. For this project, we, the students needed to chose 3 different business and create for them a home page and an about page for their websites. This needed to be created after analysisng each company, their target and the type of product they are selling.


Briefs


Products:

Zara. Spanish apparel company.

Background:

Zara is a Spanish apparel company that has a big market share in the apparel market as a fast fashion company. They follow latest trends and have the capacity of having them in 15 days in their stores. They have technology to understand consumer needs and have a quick response to them, but while they are brilliant in most of their things their webpage isn’t that successful. It is too simple, hard to navigate and isn’t consumer friendly. This website runs since 2010 and haven’t changed since then. Their innovation in web design and social media is poor and for them to continue growing this must change.

Objective:

To redesign Zara webpage maintaining their brand image but changing it into a friendly user webpage.

Target Audience:

The web page will be directed for Zara target. The Zara target market is people between 20 and 40 years old that live in different metropolitan areas around the world. This people are price-conscious and highly sensitive to the latest fashion trends. Zara tries to define their target more as a lifestyle than as demographic group. The consumers are people that know about fashion and follows trendsetters. They are a mix between an elegant and casual style and want to look like in designer clothes for less of a price.

Proposal:

A webpage that works vertically and doesn’t make readers go down. All their information will be maximum at 3 clicks from the home page and icons will always be visible. The webpage will be clean and easy to navigate.




Products: Zia Boutique.

Background:

Zia Boutique is one of most recognized boutiques in Savannah. Zia Sachedina opened the store in 2005 to sell jewelry from around the world. In the present the product line has expanded and he sells different products. He sold only in Savannah for a lot of years, but now he created his webpage to sell his products around the world. His multicultural influence, since his lived between US and Kenya all his life can be seen in the store but not in his webpage. There’s a disconnection between his two stores that will damage his business.

Objective:

To redesign Zia Boutique webpage in a way it reflects the essence of the brand and it is connected to the store.

Target Audience:

The web page will be directed for Zia Boutique target market in Savannah and the target around the world. The Zia boutique consumer is women and men between 25 and 45 that have a income between $40.000 and $90.000. They are primary from Savannah or are people who likes to travel and have get to know the boutique by visiting the city. It is people that appreciate exotic pieces. They want to look unique and exclusive and at the same time value pieces that gives them that for a medium range price.

Proposal:

To create a webpage that maintains the format of the last one but reflects the image of the shop and of the brand. It must be friendly with the user and organized. The design direction will change into something that

respects the exotic touch of the boutique but more elegant.




Products: Ballen Pellettiere Bags.

Background:

Ballen Pellettiere is a starting bag company. It was born in Medellin, Colombia in 2012. The company publishes their website last year but even tough the brand is affordable luxury their webpage doesn’t reflect that image. They sell expensive bags around Colombia. Ballen Pellettiere is getting more and more importance and a bigger market share. They are being named in different magazines and are being used by local celebrities. They sell through whole sales so it is really important to have a webpage that people can go to and find about the brand.

Objective:

To redesign Ballen Pellettiere in order to give the company a webpage that reflects the brand and their products.

Target Audience:

Ballen Pallettiere target is a woman between 20 and 40 years old from Colombia. People with high income that appreciates quality and exclusivity. They aren’t price conscious and appreciate customization. They are women that follow trends but at the same time appreciate the timeless pieces. The webpage target is the general target for the brand.

Proposal:

To develop a webpage for Ballen Pellettiere that contains all information about the brand and their products. It should represent the brand essence and the products. It is important to keep the format they have and a simple design that is friendly with user, but it must be more elegant.
