This paper presents examples of redevelopment carried out in large or small docks in the late 20th and early 21th century, in ports of Greece or abroad, comparing the policies and strategies followed in each case taking into account the special characteristics of the broader region. The comparison and evaluation is done by focusing on whether the architectural, urban planning and socioeconomic objectives of the redevelopment were achieved.
