Ahome’s landscape is for more than just curb appeal.

A landscape architect uses flora and foliage as his tools to create both design elements and practical solutions for shade and privacy.

Miami-based landscape architect Christopher Cawley uses his design talents to turn plants and trees into living sculptures that add drama to the outdoor spaces he creates.

For this contemporary estate designed by Choeff Levy Fischman located on Miami Beach’s Sunset Island III, Cawley created an inviting tropical garden with big leaf plantings used as structural elements. Native Sabal Palm trees and lush native plantings soften the home’s modern design. The property features a unique garden oasis created by palms and an assortment of large leaf philodendrons. Leaning Coconut Palm trees frame the waterway and provide privacy. The water feature anchors the front of the garden. It is lined with river rocks that add a polished textural element to the luscious outdoor environment.
