TEXTURED PAST

FOR THE PRESENT

The Venice factory of Spanish artist and textile designer Mariano Fortuny just celebrated its 100th birthday. And for the past 34 years, this inspirational Italian textile house has been overseen by Maged Riad and his sons Mickey and Maury. They are constantly working to blend the past with the present by not only updating Fortuny’s classic designs but also creating new collections that are shepherding the brand into its next century.

Although it seems like it would be new and on the cutting edge, Fortuny’s Camo Isole is actually one of Fortuny’s original designs. It uses tonal layering and natural forms to create a uniquely Venetian camouflage, complete with island forms rendered in its metallic stampa. The fabric is 100% long staple cotton and perfect for use as upholstery, wallcoverings, window treatments, pillows and other home accessories.
