IT’SNEVERTOOLATETOBEGINAGAIN! Asayoungintelligentgirl,Iwasverydevotedtomystudies,Ihadaspirations wantingtogetadegreeandclimbupthecorporateladder.Unfortunately, lifehappenedandmyeducationalaspirationswashalted,mylifetooka detour,mydreamsofbecominganaccomplishedwomaninthecorporate worldwasthwarted.

AsIhaveearlierindicated,situationbeyondmycontrolforcedmetostopmy educationaljourney.Inmyearly40safter5children,anaccomplishedchef andaministeroftheGospel.Ihadtheopportunitytogobacktoschoolwhen IrelocatedtotheUK.Itwasn’taneasyfit,asIhadtojugglemywonderful family,jobandtheministrybuttherewasaburningdesireofanunfulfilled dreamthatactuallyfuelledmydecision.
Lifecircumstanceshelpshapemydisciplineintheareaofpsychologyand counsellingbuttheultimategoalwastobeadegreeholder.OnceIstarted opportunitiestopushfurtherwaspresentedandGod,myfatherwhoknew theendfromthebeginningturnedmydisappointmentsintoappointments accordingtoHisWordinIsaiah60:22(NLT).“Thesmallestfamilywillbecome athousandpeople,andthetiniestgroupwillbecomeamightynation.Atthe righttime,I,theLORD,willmakeithappen.”
Soyouthatarereadingthroughandyoufeelyourlifehastakenadetour, youhavegiveuponyourdreamsduetolifecircumstances,don’tlethope die,trusttheLordwhosethoughtsforusareofpeaceandnotofeviltogive usafutureandhope.

Theexcitementandmiracleis,inmy56yearsofdriving,Ihavebeenblessedwith multipleusedcarsbutthisisamilestoneforme,myveryfirstnewcarwithonly10 milesonitandthetransactionwentsmoothly.
IpraiseGodforthatblessingwhichIreceivedonApril14,2024withinmy6month goal.SonowIhave2cars.MyothercarisaJeepPatriotthathad45,000mileswhen Iboughtitin2019.Thatcarwassogoodtome.Stressfreethat’swhyIchosetobuy anotherJeep.Wellmygrandsonscarhadbrokendownandhewasdrivingmy PatriotanywaysoIsoldhimthatcar.MygoalwastopayoffmyJeep;onJune8, 2024IpaidofftheJeepPatriot,thankyouJesus.IamthankfultoGodthatheallowed metoreachthatgoalin5monthsandoneweek.
InJuneIalsowentonaweek’svacationtoChicagowithoneofmysisters.Ihadtold myselfabout3yearsagothatonedayIwouldliketovisitChicagoandthatdesire cametrue.
Inthisfirst6monthsIdidnotpickupanyoneelse’sstress.Istayedthankfuland gratefuleverydayandIreachedthebiggestmilestoneofallandthatwas becomingsemi-retiredatage661/2.
MydaysarefullofjoybecauseIchosetopraytoGodeverydayinmyownspecial way.AsoftodayJune20,2024mynewgoalistosavemoney,payoffmycredit cards,takeminivacationsandcontinuetotreatmyselfreallygood.
Twenty-twentyfourhasbeena yearofrenewal forme.
ThethemeofthisseasonhasbeenRESET-SHIFT-EMBRACE,andithascome topasslikeabullet.Myareasofresethaveencompassedmyspiritual alignment,whereIcanbetterheartheLORD'svoiceinprayer,mymarriage becomingplayfulagaininour46thyear,andwiththeplanningofour50thanniversarycelebration,andmyhealthcomingintoproperfocusand priority.Theshifthasbeenmyactivelyremovingmyselffromactivitiesthat ABBAdidnotassigntomyhands,freeingtimeformetoenjoytravelwithmy husbandaswedotacrossthecountryreconnectingwithfamilyandsailing toMexicoreconnectingwitheachother.Iamembracingtheslowdownand allthewhile,learninghowtodealwithhavingsomuchfreetimeonmy hands.
Thegreatestpartofthisyearhasbeenspendingtimewithmyfamilyand experiencinganewdepthintheLORD,butthemostfulfillinghasbeento experienceallthiswithmyhusband.It'sbetterthanasecondhoneymoon; it'sarenewalthattoucheseveryaspectoflivingforbothofus.Beingone fleshwithjoyasacentralcomponentisrefreshing.Lavishinghimwithlove uninterruptedismynewzeal.Planningforourfutureisdivine.

Whenwritingthebook,Iwas acutely aware that I was writing from my perspective whichisthatofaChristian, African-Caribbeanladylivingin theUKwithJamaicanparents.
TalkaboutIntersectionality!Everyoneofthosecharacteristicsplaysapartin howIshowupeveryday. Ithoughtitnecessarytostatethisinmy introductioninthebook.Iwashopingthatpeoplefromothercommunities wouldreaditbutunderstoodthatwenaturallygravitatetowhoorwhatwe mostidentifywith.
Butfearisnorespecterofpersons.Itdoesnotcarehowyouidentifyandwill affectanyoneregardlessofrace,gender,faithoranyotheraspectofour lives.MycolleagueisaCaucasianlady,whoIdon'tthinkisChristian(Ihaven't asked)andI'mnotsuresheisofanyparticularfaith,religionorpersuasion.
Initially,whenwritingthebook,mytargetaudiencewastopeoplelikeme, especiallymorematureChristianladieswhohadbeen“churched”for decades,satinthepresenceofgreatpreachingandteachingbutfeeltoo fearfultostepoutandworktowardstheirdreams.
Butafterspeakingtomybookcoach,theamazingCoachCamelleIlona,I realisedIshouldprobablystoplimitingGodandhowHecanusethebookto ministertoanyoneandeveryone.
SoIamwaitingforfeedbackfrommycolleagueandexpectingtohearwhatI know-thateveryoneexperiencesfearbutthattheprinciplesintheWordof Godworkforeveryone.
2024…YEAROFJUBILEE… FromtheBreakingtotheBreakthrough IwanttothankGodforHisfaithfulnessinthevalleymoments.Theyear 2023wassuchacrushingone,butGodshowedupinthefurnaceand turneditaround.
Ialmostlostmydad.Whenthedoctorcalledandsaidtherewasnothing moretheycoulddo,IbegantoseekdirectionfromtheLord,whoinstructed metotakechargeofhiscare.Mysonwasalsoveryillfor3months,andI washospitalized6times.Duringthattime,theLordinstructedmetostarta healthandwellnessbusiness.Overthepast6months,bothmydadandson havebeenfullyrestored,Ihavelost37pounds,ampainfreeandhelping otherbelieverstorestoretheirhealth,throughtheuseofnutritionand herbs.

For much of this year, such pressurehasbeenareinforcementon theessenceofretreatingtothesecret place and optimising self care-- in comprehendingthatmyhealthismy wealth. Without Health, more so Spiritually,onecandiminishtheirworth.
YourHealthisWealthhasbecomea catch phrase – can be deemed as cliché.Yet,afunctionalrealityformany, withtheabsenceoffullhealth,not much else matters, managing and balancing health becomes core to livelihood.ToBreatheisLife,istolive.

Iwilllistafewaspectsoflifewithtangibleevidence towitnessthegoodnessofGoduponmylifein2024: Withmanagingaprolongedmedicalailment,onecaneasilyfalterandthrowinthe towel–asinlife,weneverknowthisintrusiontolifewouldtakeafewmonths...! Norayear,then2and3and...thecountgoesonandtherealisationstrikes-thatit wasonlyadecadeagowhenallwasperfectinthismind’seye–suddenlythebody becametrapped,debilitated,withlifelimitation.
Thepastmakesuswhoweare,it’spartofthestoryline-Isufferedamajorlife changingailmentwhichledtopartialparalysisin2013. Godhasperformed miracles,rulingoutbraintumours,investigations10yearsapart,withanotherallclearbeingreleasedfewmonthsagoin2024!HallelujahtotheGodofAllFleshfor WhomNothingistoohard(Jeremiah32:27).
