There are very few O f f i c e buildi n gs an d it will be beneficial to h av e m ed i cal o ffices i n t h e C C A C p ro pos al.

This project is designed to i mp rove th e life an d health of p atien t s an d t o sustain the wellness of staff and families. We designed flexible room modules that can be co nve rt ed fo r o t h er u s es i n the fu tu re. We p rovided floors of similar layout that can b e adap t ed in to cli ni cs o r in p a t ien t ro o ms i n o rder to a ccommoda te for future expansion needs as well as to promote sharing of re s o ur ces . In order to facilitate a healthy environment for an e ff icien t p h ysical an d psychological recovery, we provided multiple re s p i t e a n d green s p a ces o f varyin g p rivacy levels.

As a sit e strat egy, the long narrow footprint of the think tank is di v i ded t o en gen der a public forecourt between the main i n s t i t u t i o n a l buildings and the public buildings. The series of diverse openings (solid, transparent, a n d o p era b le v en t s ) a ddres s es t h e n eed for natural light and ventilation in the absence of rep et i t i v e do o rs o r win dows. 41

In o rder t o reflect a pure mi ni malist a esth etic, n at ural co l o r a n d t e x t u r e o f co ncre t e as a fin is h ma t eria l is explored through out the design process. A high perfo rman ce curtai n w all s ys tem is used to b rin g a soph ist i cat ed co ntras t to the mi nimalist ligh t colored concrete massing. On the interior, day-lighting is optimized with skylights and continuous glazing aro u n d t h e p e r i m e t e r .
