FRIENDS / CHAVERIM Aleph (2 year old program, camper must be born between January-June 2008) Bet (3 year old program, born in 2007) / Gimmel (4 year old program, born in 2006) Daled (5 year old program, born in 2005) Half and full day campers are in for a great camp experience packed with fun summer activities including sports, music, arts & crafts, drama and swimming. Introduce your child to the world of day camp with amazing program in a safe and nurturing environment. Playing cooperative games, swimming and singing while building independence, confidence and teamwork are part of every day. Chaverim is a great stepping stone for those starting at the Soloway JCC Ganon Preschool in September.

STARS / KOHAVIM Hey (entering Grade 1, born in 2004) / Vav (entering Grade 2, born in 2003) Zayin (entering Grade 3, born in 2002) / Chet (entering Grade 4, born in 2001) These shining stars will have a blast with theme-based summer activities planned specifically for their age group. From arts & crafts to sports, dance, swimming and field trips, each week is jam-packed with excitement.

FUN KIDS / KEF KIDS / Entering Grade 1- Grade 4 The Kef Kids program emphasizes physical activity in a fun, safe and positive environment! Spend an action-packed day playing games and sports while learning athletic skills and working on team building and sportsmanship. Kef Kids is a great way to prepare for Traveling Sports Camp in summers to come. Register early as spaces in this camp are limited.

CIT CAMP / COUNSELORS IN TRAINING / Grade 8-9 Enjoy all the fun of camp while gaining the experience needed to work with children, develop leadership, communication and problem solving skills. CITs have the opportunity to become counselors in the future.

New themes and exciting field trips! Awesome new themes include: Once Upon a Time, Taste of Summer, Just Clowning Around, Discovery Days, Beat the Heat, Wild Things and Walking on Sunshine.

INSTRUCTIONAL SW IMMING LESSONS IN CLUDED WEEKLY THEMES Each week offers unique fun-filled activities and a theme-based event or field trip. WEEK 1 (JUNE 28 – JULY 2): JUST CLOWNING AROUND No more teachers, no more books! What better way for campers to say goodbye to school and hello to summer than by letting all their sillies out and clowning around with friends! WEEK 2 (JULY 5 - 9): WILD THINGS Campers won’t be the only wild things rumbling around the SJCC this summer! Counselors do double duty as zookeepers this week while campers cut loose with their favourite wild things!

WEEK 4 (JULY 19 - 23): TASTE OF SUMMER* Hats off to the chef! This week we will introduce campers to the joy of healthy cooking…and more importantly, eating! Fruit kabobs, watermelon popsicles, dill pickles and more! Yum! *Our campers’ safety is our number one priority and all allergies will be taken into consideration upon registration.

WEEK 7 (AUGUST 9- 13): WALKING ON SUNSHINE Campers will definitely be walking on sunshine by the end of this exciting summer! This week campers will re-live the excitement of our most popular themes in a week of high spirited fun! Get ready for spirit days, cheer-offs and pep rallies!

A TYPICAL DAY AT CAMP WEEK 5 (JULY 26 – 30): ONCE UPON A TIME… There was a prince, a pirate, a princess and a fairy. Campers dreams comes true this week with tons of dress-up fun, make-believe games and story tellling!

Expose your children to a variety of sports and to the beauty and adventure right here in the Ottawa Valley. Mornings at the Soloway JCC include instruction in a range of sports including soccer, basketball, lacrosse, flag football, badminton, archery, ball hockey, softball, fencing, racquetball, squash and ultimate Frisbee. Instructional swim and Soloway JCC Maccabi Games are also part of this unique summer experience. Afternoons include ice-skating, golf, windsurfing, mini-putt, gymnastics, bowling, trampoline, pony and horseback riding, canoeing, banana boarding, tubing, tennis, go-karting, wave pool, waters slides, beach and more! Don’t forget…pizza and hot dog lunch Fridays.

Our Mature and highly qualified staff are chosen for their ability to work with children. Low counselor to camper ratio further ensures that all activities are safe, fun, and provide a positive experience for everyone. Camp facilites include indoor and outdoor pools, an air-conditioned double gymnasium with squash and racquet ball courts, preschool rooms suitable for our younger campers, modern play structures and two multipurpose sports fields.


one week specialty camps GIRLS ON THE GO • AGES 8-12 • JUNE 28 - JULY 2 8.30 AM – 3.30 PM • $250 M/$285 NM Spend the first week of summer on the go. Whether we are here at the Soloway JCC learning dance, yoga, making tie-dyes or playing in the pool, or we are out and about at Gotta Paint, Scrapbooking at Michael’s, getting make-over’s or having a slumber party, this camp is a great way to get into the girl groove. FIT KIDS HAVE FUN!! • AGES 9-13 • JULY 5 – JULY 9 8.30 AM – 3.30 PM • $225 M/$255 NM The Soloway JCC Fitness Department cares about kids and has put together a specialty camp devoted to fitness fun. In the morning Fit Kids join the Sports Campers for some thrilling basketball, soccer, ball hockey, racquet sports or volleyball. Afternoons are dedicated to dynamic fitness classes like Israeli Boot Camp, Plyometrics, On the Ball, Spinning classes, Cardio Kickboxing and Nutrition Awareness all led by Soloway JCC Fitness Trainer Ryan Armitage. The fitness frenzy wraps up with a daily dip in the pool. HORSEBACK RIDING CAMP • AGES 10-14 • JULY 12 – 16 8.30 AM – 3.30 PM • $285 M/$310 NM The excitement takes place each afternoon at Happy Trails Riding Stables in Carlsbad Springs. Budding equestrians learn proper techniques before trotting on the trails and will spend time in the stables and on the farm. The day begins at the Soloway JCC with a variety of team sports like volleyball, basketball, archery and soccer. Transportation included. Minimum – 8 participants. BIKE TOURING CAMP • AGES 9-13 • JULY 19 – 23 9.00 AM – 3.45 PM • $225 M/$255 NM Lessons in bicycle safety are followed by daily tours along scenic Ottawa and Gatineau trails. Hop off your bike at the Soloway JCC for some games and sports plus a chance to cool off in our outdoor pool. Bike Touring Camp is a healthy and fun way to discover eastern Ontario and western Quebec. Minimum – 6 participants. TENNIS CAMP • AGES 8-12 • AUGUST 3 – 6 9.00 AM - 3.30 PM • $250 M/$285 NM Athletic skill building activities like swimming, soccer, volleyball and basketball games, squash and archery instruction get the young pros warmed-up and ready for an energetic afternoon on the courts at the Rideau Tennis Club. Transportation provided. Drop-off and pick-up is at the Soloway JCC.

THE GREAT ADVENTURE • AGES 10 - 13 • AUGUST 3 - 6 9.00 AM - 3.30 PM • $250 M $285 NM Dynamic daily adventures include a trip to Ottawa’s newest water slide, Indy style Go-Karting and two awesome days and an overnite at Camp B’nai Brith in nearby Quyon, Quebec.

SOCCER CAMP • AGES 7 – 9 & 10 -12 • AUGUST 9 – 13 8.30 AM – 4.30 PM • $200 M $225 NM JCC Summer Camps team-up with Ottawa South United Soccer Association, the #1 ranked association for soccer youth development in Ontario, for an unbelievable week of the highest quality instruction and skill development. Camp takes place at Walter Baker Soccer Facility. FRENCH “AIM PROGRAMME“ CAMP • AUGUST 16 – 20 8.30 AM - 3.30 PM • $225 M $ 250 NM Improve your French with this unique program which teaches the language while enhancing memory retention and recall of vocabulary through the use of gestures. GIRL POWER • AGES 8-12 • AUGUST 16 – 20 8.30 AM - 3.30 PM • $250 M/$285 NM End your summer with power! Fit-full mornings include Yoga, Bosu, Circuit Training, Self-Defense and free swim followed by afternoons of rock climbing, zip lining and splashing in Ottawa’s newest water park.

COACH CARLOS ‘BOBBY’ BROWN’S ALLSTAR BASKETBALL CAMP • AUGUST 16 – 20 • $225 M/$250 NM NCAA DIVISION: AGES 8-11/NBA DIVISION: AGES 12 -15 Shoot hoops with NCAA, CIS College Coach Brown and his team of all-stars. Perfect your passing, shooting, footwork and defense. Take home daily prizes and individual player report cards. Swimming and Pizza Friday are part of the fun. ONE MORE WEEK! • AGES 3 - 5 • AUGUST 16 – 20 Preschoolers who don’t want the summer fun to end have the opportunity to stay one more week. Three - five year olds can choose a half or full day of great camp activities like sports, music, arts & crafts, drama and swimming. Make the summer last longer with amazing programs supervised by ECE experienced staff in a safe and nurturing environment.
