I Am Studying Psychology… Why Do I Need to Take a Research Methods Course?
As you have likely realized by this point in your academic career, the field of psychology is incredibly broad and diverse.
When many people think of psychology, their first thought is about therapists and counselors; of course, the field is much broader than that. While it is true that many psychologists provide mental health counseling and services to patients and clients, many psychologists are not licensed as therapists at all.
Rather, they may spend theirtime conducting research, consulting, or teaching. Further, the field spans many different subfields such as cognitive, developmental, social, biological, industrial/organizational, and forensic psychology, to name but a few.
