Anders Weberg is an artist, experimental filmmaker and independent Curator. The human body lies at the root of projects that formally and conceptually chart identity and its construction as a preamble to broaching matters of violence, genders, memory, loss or ideology in which personal experiences co-exists with references to popular culture, the media and consumerism. Specializing in digital technologies, he aims to mix genres and ways of expression to explore the potential of audio visual media. He coined the term Peer-to-peer art or (p2p art) in 2006. Art made for – and only available on – the peer to peer networks. The original artwork is first shared by the artist until one other user has downloaded it. After that the artwork will be available for as long as other users share it. The original file and all the material used to create it are deleted by the artist. ”There’s no original”. Six films with a duration between 45 minutes and 9 hours have been uploaded on the file sharing networks in one copy and their original have been deleted. P2P Art – The aesthetics of ephemerality. Rob Garrett, BFA (Elam) and MA (Otago) is the founding Director of the Auckland-based art management company Rob Garrett Contemporary Fine Art Ltd. He has more than 30 years’ experience in the visual arts (as curator, arts manager, writer, government advisor, artist, creative entrepreneur and educator) and has long experience in commissioning artist projects, in curating and in project managing public art projects by a wide range of visual artists. Rob Garrett is a specialist expert in public art, independent projects and working with artists at all stages of their career, and especially emerging artists. Through 2010 and 2011 he was contracted to lead the public art programme in Auckland, New Zealand’s largest city; and is currently leading Auckland Council’s public art policy development project. His notable former roles include Head of School, Dunedin School of Art; Senior Manager with Creative New Zealand; leader of New Zealand’s presentation at the 51st Venice Biennale of Contemporary Art; Governmentappointed Council Member of the Arts Council of New Zealand Aotearoa; and initiator and Founding Chair of the Otago Festival of the Arts, Dunedin. ASIA Gye-joong Kim
Gye-joong Kim is an experimental filmmaker and co-founder & programme director of EXiS, an Experimental Film and Video Festival in Seoul. Since he finished studying BFA and MFA program in Film & Video at CalArts, California Institute of the Arts in 2002 he has been living in Seoul, South Korea creating experimental cinematic works as well as trying to expand the artistic filmmaking community. He is mainly interested in approaching modern media art from the aspect of cinema as an artistic medium, both in terms of fields of production and support for the artist and the local scene. EXiS covered these major programmes: History of Japanese Experimental Film (2004), Nam June Paik (2007), Tribute to John Cage (2008), Michale Snow (2010), Aisa Forum (2009 – present), Toronto Media Art Special Focus (2010), BSides History of Spanish Video Art (2011) etc. NORTH AMERICA Paul Young

Paul Young is a journalist and curator based in Los Angeles. His articles have appeared in the New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Rolling Stone, Variety, Artnews, Art & Auction and many more. His weekly column, ”Untitled,” which covered contemporary art issues, ran in the Los Angeles Times for two years, and his ”City Art” column ran for five. He is also the author of Art Cinema (Taschen), which explores ways in which art practices converge with moving imagery, and he curates video programs and exhibitions worldwide. Recent exhibitions include Cineloop at ARCO, Madrid (2010); Portugal Arte (Lisbon’s first biennial) and Remote Viewing, a large scale survey of contemporary video practices at the ASM Museum in Barcelona. His next exhibition, Supratemporal, opens at the Kulturhuset Museum in Stockholm on March 9,2012. Mr Young is also the director of Young Projects, a contemporary art gallery devoted to contemporary video art and film. Designed to be less of a ”media art gallery” in the traditional sense, than a true project space, the gallery’s mission is to operate on several levels: first and foremost, it’s dedicated to changing the way the general public views moving imagery–offering a challenge to the traditional model defined by movies and television, and to see it instead as a concrete art form, much like painting, fine art photography and sculpture. Secondly, it operates as a project space for both, experimental film artists and contemporary artists who are interested in exploring the full capabilities of the medium. Thirdly it is devoted to providing a viewing space for the highest quality works available–works that rarely, if ever, get shown in Los Angeles. SOUTH AMERICA Kika Nicolela
Kika Nicolela is a Brazilian artist, filmmaker and independent curator. Her works include single-channel videos, installations, performances and photography. Graduated in Film and Video by the University of Sao Paulo, Kika Nicolela was the recipient of several grants and has participated of over 100 solo and group exhibitions in Austria, Brazil, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK and US. Her videos have been screened and awarded in festivals of more than 30 countries, such as: Kunst Film Biennale, Bilbao International Film Festival, Milan International Film Festival, Oberhausen International Short Film Festival, Japan Media Arts Festival, Videoformes New Media & Video Art Festival and São Paulo International Film Festival. Since 2008, Kika Nicolela also curates and coordinates the Exquisite Corpse Video Project, an ongoing collaborative series of videos that involves more than 70 artists from 25 countries. She has been the main curator of the festivals Experimenta! (Campinas, Brazil, 2010) and Cine Design (Recife, Brazil, 2010); Nicolela also curated screenings for the Directors Lounge (Berlin, Germany, 2011) and the Alucine Toronto Latino Media Festival (Toronto, Canada, 2009). She has been an artist-in- residence at several wo’rldwide institutions, such as Gyeonggi Creation Center (South Korea), Künstlerdorf Schöppingen Foundation (Germany), Rote Fabrik (Switzerland), Casa das Caldeiras (Brazil), Objectifs http://aivafestival.com/curators/ (Singapore), Sumu AIR (Finland) and Rondo Studio (Austria). Kisito Assangni is a Togolese artist and curator who trained at Lomé and Paris. Currently living between London, Paris and Lomé, his artworks primarily question post-globalisation impact and psychogeography. His projects have been shown internationally, including the ICA - Institute of contemporary Arts, London; Arnot Art Museum, New York; Musée des Arts Derniers, Paris; Savvy Contemporary, Berlin; Centre for Contemporary Art, Kiev; Sint-Lukas Gallery, Brussels; Arad Art Museum, Romania; Museo ExTeresa arte Actual, Mexico City; New Art Projects, Beijing (China) among others.
