DISCOVERED BY: Occupant AREA OF ORIGIN: Interior kitchen PRELIMINARY CAUSE: Accidental; due to unattended cooking ASSISTING AGENCIES: ATF FBI MSP OTHER American Red Cross ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The fire occurred when an electric stove was accidently turned on with a pot containing cooking oil on it. The oil was heated and eventually ignited causing the cabinets to ignite. The occupants of the home are being assisted by the American Red Cross. The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office would like to remind citizens to keep their stove tops and areas around it clear of all combustible materials and to remove items used for cooking from the stove once the items are cool.
