You Can Reflect God’s Personality “He raised up David to be their king; of him He bore witness and said, I have found David son of Jesse a man after My own heart, who will do all My will and carry out My program fully” - Acts 13:20-22 (Amp)
The story of King David has been a puzzle and mystery for thousands of years. His life perplexes, maddens, and humbles scholars of the Bible. To most, it doesn’t make sense that this shepherd boy, who was so susceptible to weakness and sin was able to “get away with” so much and still have God treat him with special favor. David was many things: a shepherd, a song writer, a warrior, a king, a liar, a murderer, and an adulterer. But most important of all, he was the only person in the Bible to be called “a man after God’s own heart”. Stunning! A less than perfect man, often full of doubts and sin, like all of us, and yet God named him a man after His own heart. What an amazing compliment! Why is this important? Because in saying those words about David, the Lord opened the door to every human being to be… a man or woman after God’s own heart. That means… it can be you! You can be a man or woman after God’s own heart.
