rought together in this common effort, Column Film & Silent Woods Industries, represented by Mess. G. v/d Westelaken and D. Tuinder (henceforth mentioned as: The Producers), proudly present a film, written, painted, directed & acted in by Mr. D. Tuinder, whose title Winterland derives from one of its’ main characters, the enchanting Miss Sally Dewinter, performed, in this feature, by the young & talented Miss K. Mechanicus, who is lost in the 3-dimensional world where she stumbles upon the internationally acclaimed actress Tara Elders, played by Miss Tara Elders, who is involved in shooting a 19-th century, arthouse space-adventure called Project Icarus in which she plays Elisabeth Dubois, the young and lustfull wife of Shaun O’ Leary (a classic cameo of producer v/d Westelaken), who is twice her age and founder of O’ Leary, canned food & beverages, main sponsor of the space-expedition which is led by the enigmatic Dr. Rosenthal – a classic performance by Mr. T. Jansen – and further consists of the magnetic Miss L. Proot as Madame Rosenthal, and Mr. M. Faber as Eugene De Gildesleeve, an aesthistic nihiliste in the true Huysmanian style, whose cool baroque blends perfectly and sadly comical with Mr. R. Wingens’ Keatoneske interpretation of Arthur Dauphin, photographer and ‘student of time’, and is completed by the young poet and scribe Francis Young, performed by the always immaculate Mr. M. Huisman, who has lost his heart to his masters wife and suffers quietly untill the spaceship is pulled into the gravitational sphere of the planet Proxima Terra and a crash seems imminent....

– who is assisted by a dropped-out priest Reinier (a heart conquering performance by comic-natural Stijn Westenend), who turns out to be one of the keyplayers of the second half of the movie in which most of the actors get lost during an outing and venture into other strange woods & realtities like the apocalyptic bordertown San Nicolaas where the spectator will meet the struggling poet Jimmy Rage, performed by the electric Mr. F. Dawkins and where Reinier gets into even stranger realities as he is cast by Patrick Priest, performed by the diva-eske Mr. P. Priest, head of Casting Jesus Inc and where Sally Dewinter meets Big Boy, one of the movies shortest- but nonetheless most memorable performances, by the young Mr. P.G. Tuinder and Floortje, who at the gentle age of 6 months, 1 week & 3 days made her film debut as The Puppy That Never Grew Old.

improvisation by Mr. A. Leddy and Miss T. Koot. The themesong and most of the other stunning music in this film was composed and performed by Miss S. van Hamel, strings and other musical arrangements brilliantly done by Mr. M. Fondse. Music for Project Icarus was composed and performed by the table-noise band Ookoi (Mess. P. Mertens & H. Schellinx), and music for some parts of San Nicolaas by the prior mentioned Mr. F. Dawkins. Costumes were handled in an elegant fashion by Miss J. Steijlen except for Miss Dewinter’s dress which was handcrafted by the ever accurate Miss A. Tuinder. Image postproduction was handled courageously by Tungsten Studio. Sound was mixed and prepared for public presentation on hi-fi stereo amplifiers by Studio Vermaas. The indepth and highly recommended making of was filmed & edited by the esteemed Mr. A. Kaganof.

The Producers would like to warn a specific part of their audience that Winterland is not a movie with a happy ending. Not because it lacks an optimistic view on reality, but because the film has no ending to begin with. Neither does it have a beginning. It does, for obvious reasons of perception and anticipation of the avarage viewer, seem to have one, but at the end of the movie, that same average viewer will find that the beginning was actually the end. So nothing of what you have seen or will see in this film has actually happened. This, and other uncommon feautures like talking rocks and gigantic Eyeballoons have confused some but many others have been charmed by this non-existent story, which The Producers would never have been able to present to you without the qualified assistance of many good people of which they would like to mention a few herewith.

The Producers would like to once again assure that it is their heartfelt mission to entertain and enlighten audiences of all Race & Gender around the Globe, and firmly believe that by presenting this movie of full color images have made a worthwhile effort to broaden the knowledge and perception of the viewer.

This deepspace melodrama is intercut with scenes from the Silent Woods Studios where the film is shot and in which we see amongst many others once again Mr. D. Tuinder – acting as the artist-director D. Tuinder

The Producers were glad to have Mr. S. van Santen as Director of Photography, Mr. D. de Boer as Master of Light and Mr. J. Hermans handling Sound. The Art Department was steared with much fearless
