For more than 100 years, Canandaigua has been home to the estate known as Sonnenberg. The estate began as a summer home for philanthropists Frederick Ferris Thompson and his wife, Mary Clark Thompson. Today it is a 50-acre estate featuring a 40-room Victorian mansion, nine elegantly restored gardens, and an antique greenhouse complex. While Sonnenberg operates in cooperation with the State of New York, it is supported entirely by the activities of its non-profit organization. True to its educational mission, Sonnenberg features a wide range of public cultural, historical, and horticultural-based events. Sonnenberg Gardens is a 501(c)(3)non-profit organization and your contributions are tax-deductible. Consult with your tax advisor concerning the deductibilty of your donation.
