The Wildcats opened up the 2010-11 season with seven straight wins, including a thriling 65-62 overtime victory over now-7th-ranked Western Washington at the CCAA/GNAC Challenge here in Rohnert Park in December. Ever since, Chico State has gone 6-5, but have won three of its last four games. After sweeping the weekend series with Cal State Dominguez Hills on Friday (55-42) and Cal State L.A. on Saturday (6360), the Wildcats are tied in fourth place in the CCAA standings. Molly Collins is leading Chico State, scoring 9.8 points per game and Taylor Lydon is averaging a team-best 5.3 rebounds a contest. When Sonoma State and Chico State faced off earlier this season, the Seawolves scored just five points in the opening 15 minutes and eventually lost 52-41. Chico State is 16-12 against SSU in the Mark Rigby era (44-17 all-time).

The Warriors, currently riding a three-game win streak after three straight home wins over San Francisco State (56-50), Cal State L.A. (9673) and Cal State Dominguez Hills (62-56), are sixth in the CCAA standings, one game ahead of Humboldt State. The Warriors are second in the conference in scoring offense, putting up 71.5 points per game, and leads the CCAA in blocked shots (3.9/game) thanks to the 2.7 a game by Katie Busi. Busi also leads the conference in steals with 2.8 a contest and is the teamโs leading scorer, averaging 16.1 points. Andreanna Marshall (12.9) and Christin Gowan (11.5) also score in double figures. In their last meeting, Cal State Stanislaus outscored Sonoma State 10-4 in overtime to take the 78-72 victory on Dec. 3. SSU is 18-9 against the Warriors in the Mark Rigby era, but Cal State Stanislaus leads in the alltime series, 37-26.
The Seawolves will look to close out their four-game homestand, hosting a pair of games this weekend. Sonoma State will welcome rival Chico State on Thursday and Cal State Stanislaus on Saturday. After this weekend, Sonoma State will hit the road for four games before returning home to close out the regular season. ...the Seawolves sit in eighth place in the CCAA standings with a 4-10 record. Sonoma State will play four games at home and four games on the road, including the final two in the comforts of The Wolves' Den. The top eight teams in the standings at the end of the regular season will qualify for the CCAA Championship Tournament. The Seawolves are looking to make their first appearance since 2008.

Junior Jaclyn Bisordi has become the 32nd Sonoma State womenโs basketball studentathlete to exceed 500 points in a career. Bisordi scored her 500th career point in the 6746 loss against Cal State East Bay on Saturday. She is also the second player this season to reach 500 for her career -- Oly Larkin, the only senior on this yearโs team, scored her 500th career point in a victory over San Francisco State on Jan. 13. Bisordi has scored 508 points in 71 career games, a 7.2 points per game average.
