The Sonoran Desert is a very special place. Nowhere will you find the variety of activities that are so unique to the desert as around the communities of Fountain Hills, Rio Verde and Scottsdale. We hope the activities in the following pages will inspire you to experience it for yourself!
PARKS Fountain Park
This 64-acre park is the anchor for the downtown. The park features a 29-acre effluent lake with a world-famous fountain that goes off every hour for 15 minutes from 9am-9pm. It does not operate in windy conditions. There is an event amphitheater, a splash pad, an 18-hole championship disc golf course, children’s playground with musical instrument playground, 36 pieces of the Town’s public art collection, the Veteran’s Memorial, a walking path, and reservable ramadas. https://www.fh.az.gov/696/Fountain-Park
Golden Eagle Park
This 25-acre active recreation area hosts numerous activities and leagues throughout the year. Little League, adult softball, senior softball, high school athletics, and drop-in sports such as basketball, volleyball, and tennis. Four Peaks Park

Desert Vista Park
This park offers 3 multi-purpose fields, a playground, a skate park, and a dog park. The Off-Leash Recreational Facility or Dog Park is a 3-acre fenced facility where dogs can run free. It is divided into two fenced areas for different sized dogs. McDowell Mountain Regional Park
Nestled in the lower Verde River basin, this 21,099-acre park is a desert jewel. Elevations in the park rise to 3,000 feet. Visitors enjoy a full program schedule, over 50 miles of multiuse trails, and a year-round campground. https://www.maricopacountyparks.net/ mcdowell-mountain-regional-park/
Usery Mountain Regional Park
The park is 3,648 acres set at the western end of the Goldfield Mountains, adjacent to the Tonto National Forest. The most popular feature of the park is the Wind Cave Trail where water seeps from the roof of the alcove. The park offers over 29 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. The Archery Range is the only Five Star-rated archery range in Arizona and hosts over 30 tournaments annually.
