Breakin’ in the Park Breakdancing, also known as b-boying or b-girling, is a relatively new type of dancing, created around the 1970’s in the Bronx. It was made popular by African American and Latin American teens that used the activity to provide a more constructive alternative to the dangerous influences of street gangs. Breakdancing is a type of dance which incorporates flexibility, coordination, style, and rhythm. The goal of my kiosk is to teach people a little more about what breakdancing actually is, and its history. Many tend to connect bad behavior with breakdancing because of its energetic and dangerous moves. The kiosk will help clear up some of the stereotypes, and possible questions that people might have, through actual b-boys and b-girls and their demonstrations.

In the Park:
Bandshell
The area near the bandshell is an evenly flat ground. This makes it very suitable for any physical activities to take place. Also, because it is a widely open space, my kiosk will definitely call attention to most passer-bys, while without interrupting the main traffic.
