WESMAR ROLL FIN STABILIZERS

WESMAR’s electronic system cycles at 1000 times per second delivering lighting speed reaction for exceptional performance. The electronic gyro sensor sends information about roll velocity and acceleration directly to WESMAR’s proportional valves, which react instantaneously to rotate the fins. When a desired lift is achieved to counteract the rolling force of a wave, WESMAR’s closed proportional hydraulic system instantly interacts with the electronic gyro to correct the rolling. This coordinated response stabilizes the vessel immediately. The WESMAR Advantage • No hydraulic hose to the gyro compared to as many as 6 additional hose on competitive hydraulic gyros. • Fins can be electronically/hydraulically centred to least resistance for true null position, required on haul out. • No moving parts in electronic including the gyro. • No gyro adjustments • No electronic maintenance • No horizon adjustment • Easy to install • Plug and play proportional driver card- proportional driver card pre-wired harness. The steering gear is protected by a double acting relief and bypass valve, DARB. The DARB automatically protects the steering system against hydraulic shock and over-pressurization. If impact occurs between the rudder and an underwater object or if there is internal pressure build-up which causes the hydraulic pressure to exceed a preset limit, the DARB allows oil to bypass from the pressurized line to the non-pressurized, preventing possible damage to the steering gear, its lines and flexible hoses. These proportional hydraulic power units provide smooth acceleration and deceleration of the rudder throughout its course of travel from hard-over to hard-over, while keeping noise decibel to its minimum.

Jastram Hydraulic Steering

STEERING CONTROL PANEL

Main Steering Gear Under main power steering, the bypass solenoid (as part of the digital helm manifold) is energized - the flow from the helm pump is circulated in an isolated loop. The rotation of the helm pump is picked up by a digital encoder mechanically linked to the helm pump shaft and provides the rudder angle command to the full follow-up control system. Auxiliary Steering Gear The auxiliary steering gear is operated from the steering stand which consists of a helm pump, a helm bypass and limiting manifold and a helm control valve. Manual operation is provided through the de-energized bypass and limiting manifold. In the event of a steering control power failure, the bypass and limiting manifold will de-energize and manual steering will be invoked.

Helm Control Valve A Helm Control Valve is provided which enables a sailing vessel to have a unique steering system with multiple features unattainable with any mechanical system. The Helm Control Valve provides instant selection of any one of two of the following steering modes: Normal Mode - the operator can turn the wheel to any position and leave it unattended. The rudder automatically locks in whatever position it is left, yet, at any time, the wheel can be moved effortlessly to a new position. THis is not a friction device, but a hydraulic locking action so the rudder “feel” is never smothered with high friction forces. Rudder feel is present when the rudder is moved, yet no force is required to maintain the wheel position.

HELM BYPASS AND LIMITING MANIFOLD

Feedback Mode - the rudder forces are transmitted directly to the wheel. The helm is now sensitive to changing loads on the rudder. This mode is for sailors who want the “feel” at the wheel at all times.

JASTRAM HYDRAULIC STEERING

Jastram Model B Steering Gear Jastram B Model Actuators are doubleacting equal displacement cylinders, which are directly connected to a tiller. When the B Model is actuated it moves the tiller, which in turn moves the rudder. The actuator sizing is primarily dependent on the maximum rudder torque required. Once the required rudder torque is known the appropriate actuator size can be selected. Calculating the rudder torque is complex. An incorrect calculation can result in failure of the steering system. Torque calculations should be confirmed by a naval architect or designer.

JASTRAM HYDRAULIC FULL FOLLOW-UP Jastram Offers Unique Power Steering System

Jastram offers a unique approach to power steering systems. Instead of relying on complicated and troublesome mechanical follow-up devices, a patented Conversion and ChangeOver (CCO) manifold is used. The CCO converts the oil flow from the helm pump into an electrical signal. This signal is processed by an amplifier unit controlling the hydraulic power unit – which in turn moves the cylinders. In the event of an electrical power failure, the CCO automatically transfers the helm pump oil flow directly to the cylinders. This provides a SEAMLESS TRANSITION TO MANUAL HYDRAULIC STEERING and continued control of the vessel’s rudder. Easy to install, safe and simple, the CCO Power Steering System is an obvious choice for new construction as well as for retrofitting existing vessels.

Provides Mega Yachts with the helm sensitivity of a performance boat. • Three Modes: Hi, Lo and Neutral • Precision Engineered components for the Ultimate in feel. • Highest Quality Construction to handle the demands of the open sea.

Description: Edson’s Multi-Mode Steerer provides the critical feedback and feel by providing a high and a low gear steering ratio in a mechanical steering system. This is made possible by a combination of precisely engineered components including: • Custom Cut Gears manufactured from 17-4 PH Stainless and heat treated to H-900 condition. The gears are specially designed with a custom bevel edge to allow for easy shifting between the high and low gears. • Wheel Shafts which are machined, welded, electro-polished and finished to .001” tolerances. These tolerances give the steerer its smoothness and sensitivity. • Asymmetrical Bearing Carriers allow the fine gear mesh to be maintained over the life of the steerer. Any gear wear that may occur over time can be adjusted out of the system, assuring the steerer maintains it’s tight tolerances. • Internal Lubrication of the turning points and bearings by means of machined channels that allow grease to flow easily from stainless zerk fittings internally to the moving parts. Easily accessed lubrication points for quick and easy service by crew members. • Chain Sprockets are custom machined to provide the proper steering ratios. They feature precise teeth-edges to minimize/eliminate chain chatter. • Internal Worm Gear that facilitate shifting is engineered and manufactured to extremely tight tolerances and features position detents so that the helmsman has positive feedback on the exact location of the gears, whether, in high, low or neutral position. This feature also ensures that the gear position is maintained and will not move with vibration or boat motion. • Easily Accessed Gear Shifting Mechanism. With a simple twist of a knob that is conveniently located in the centre of the wheel shaft, the helmsman can switch gears or disengage the wheel clutch – no reaching through wheel spokes or around wheel.

2400 SERIES CAST HATCHES

FREEMAN MARINE’S patented 2400 Series Cast Aluminium Hatches are available in a variety of sizes and shapes. Standard models have a cast aluminium cover, aluminium dogging mechanism and your choice of cast aluminium, steel, galvanized steel or stainless steel rings. FREEMAN MARINE’S uniformly spaced dogs are superior to the ‘yoke” or “strongback’ type seal mechanisms which cause inherent cover distortion and sealing problems. FREEMAN 2400 Series Cast Hatches feature a stainless steel handle and round bar shaft for trouble free operation. Ductile iron covers with 316 stainless steel dogging mechanisms are available in three sizes (18” Round, 24” Round, 15” X 24” Oval), and your choice of steel, galvanized steel or stainless steel deck ring. • Top Value A FREEMAN Cast Deck Hatch is the best buy for every flush hatch application. Measure it against any other deck hatch for long life of materials, strength of design, precision fit, smooth action, dependable mechanism, and built-in, never-lost handle. • Approvals Lloyd’s Register - type approval certificate number 3/00088. U.S. Coast Guard, CE, ISO-12216 compliant. ABS, Bureau Veritas and Germanischer Lloyd’s approvals have been awarded and may be obtained for specific intended uses. Freeman Cast Deck Hatches are currently in use on Coast Guard vessels and U.S. Naval craft of all types. • Value Added Yacht-quality linear polyurethane, and anodized finishes available. • Fast Acting Lift the flush handle, make a quarter turn and lift. That’s all it takes. The dogging mechanism and linked handle do the work smoothly in just a second. • Positive Dogging Evenly spaced dogging arms (either 3, 4 or 8 per hatch) exert uniform pull on the cover plate. Handle position shows when dogging arms are engaged or loose. • Unlocking Simply grasp the handle and pull, the shaft slides up into place, and with less than a quarter of a turn the locking mechanism completely disengages. It’s a matter of one or two seconds. • Handle Stays Put The handle is built in - permanently part of the hatch so it’s right where you need it every time. Can’t get lost. • Hatch Sealed Hatch and handle fit flush with the deck, the handle in recessed lock position. Say goodbye to lost cover wrenches - the FREEMAN Cast Hatch handle is always there when you need it. • Unique Developed and manufactured under various patents by FREEMAN MARINE. • Easy Lift With the locking mechanism disengaged, the hatch is merely resting on the deck ring and can be lifted out with one hand. Closing is just as quick and easy. Optional inside escape handle performs the same easy way with a push and turn from below. • Watertight Designed to seal to 30-foot intermittent head, the double-sealing gasket actually seals tighter under pressure. • Versatile Installs in steel, aluminium, wood or fibreglass decks. Complete unit includes aluminium or steel mounting ring for bolting or welding installations. • Reliable The unique design, fit, finish and adjustability of the dogging mechanism assures smooth, consistent action - no binding or jamming of parts. This hatch, adjusted to proper tensions, can’t be over or under tightened by mistake. It operates the same each time. • Low Maintenance All parts are made of superior materials designed especially for marine and other abusive environments. The hatch and most parts are corrosion resistant aluminium. All other components are stainless steel, acetal or compatible.

Why are Toilets absolutely the MOST silent?

1. PLANUS has eliminated the noise of the vortex pump due to the cavitation issue by adding, in the upper part of the pump, the “automatic vent air discharge”. This allows the pump to run imperceptibly and considerably increases its performance.

2. PLANUS has introduced the “water hammer arrestor” as a standard component which eliminates any banging in the water pipes when the solenoid shuts off.

3. PLANUS has introduced the “dripping flush system” which removes the annoying hiss of pressurized water entering the bowl.

Porcelain toilets are susceptible to deformities which can occur during the firing process. Some imperfections, if occurring in a critical point may inhibit a flush installation against both the floor and the wall. PLANUS utilises a numerical control machine after firing to ensure a perfect and uniform (90°) toilet. 8-10 Volkner Pl, Albany, North Harbour | Ph: 09 448 5900 | Fax: 09 448 5911 | info@sopac.co.nz | www.sopac.co.nz
