Concept
7
Establish a trusting environment that respects each user and where they are in their journey. The idea of transparency will guide design in creating an atmosphere of honesty. Circulation will ow openly throughout the spaces to connect users directly to the resources they need, while also providing suitable privacy needs when desired.

Programming Takeaways security is first priority for building users & employees complicated process to restrict access, especially services available 24/7 (shelter & apts) many different users accessing building (foster & adoptive parents, children, employees)
Takeaways employees require large amount of space to operate head supervisors need private office close to their department secure storage is very important need space for confidential work
8 Impact on Design badge-controlled entrances to all working departments receptionists in lobby & food pantry/clothing closet monitoring & guiding visitors to resources place resources accessed by visitors on level 1 near front entrance
Impact on Design create large custom workstations that are semi-private & noise-controlled provide 1-3 private offices for supervisors, depending on department size & needs create storage wherever possible

20 Large custom desk systems provide ample working space for employees while utilizing the building’s existing columns in a thoughtful way. Acoustically paneled partitions help with noise control, while soffits help define spaces. Coworking style hot desks provide a space for employees who come into the office on occasion. Private offices along the back wall allow supervisors to be in close proximity to their employees. The overall setup allows for a dynamic workspace that meets both privacy and collaborating needs.

My strategy for achieving LEED Gold Certification is to obtain a few points in each category, assuring that the building project will touch on a wide variety of sustainable practices. Thinking about the usertypes of the building, many of them will not own a car, Implementing sustainable into the therefore, bicycle storage facilities arepractices important, especially for the drop-in shelter, as well as the studio apartments.
