BACHELOR PROJECT
BA BACHELOR PROJECT - Best Graduation 2020 Europes biggest Jugendstil-Ensemble is situated In Bad Nauheim near Frankfurt.
It is an old spa complex called „Sprudelhof“ with a big spring in
7 bathhouses which are
under strong monumental protection.
KULTURZENTRUM
„Kulturzentrum Badehaus Drei“ means Culture
BADEHAUS
Center Bathhouse Three, which was the task of the
DREI
bachelor thesis. The new culture centre should combine a
Jugendstilmuseum, a specialist library, a café, co-working spaces, a theatre and rooms for physical activities like yoga.
The aim was to create flowing transitions between
Badehaus3
the various utilisations, the onamental elements Main Station
and my own inspiring design. The areas differ from determined colour
Kurpark
schemes, but are connected through materiality. Small but effective operations on the existing building are used to reach a harmonious interaction of the design components.

MATERIALS The Sprudelhof was built with the most modern techniques
and followed a brand new
aesthetic.
These facts are essential for
the transformation, which shows how to use new,
innovative materials. On the one hand the
materials show the contrast
between old and new, on the other hand they convey the reinterpretation of the
jugendstil.
Classy materials round off the whole design.

CONCEPTUAL DESIGN
CD KINDERGARDEN - Essari+Lequime Architects A former church from the 70ies will be transformed into a kindergarden for around 80 children. My part of the project was to create a modern design concept, aswell as changing the
groundfloor for the building application. Theme of the kindergarden will be the planetary system.
The main room of the church is reachable for all groups and functions as the movement area. A yellow mattress symbolizes the sun. The 8 groups are the different planets- situated around the sun.

CD EXPOSITION - Big Project, 6th Semester The German Gemstone Museum (D Deutsches EdelsteinMuseum)is situated in Idar-Oberstein, a
world-wide known city for its jewellery and
dem
gemstone industry. Purper´s Schlösschen is the name of the Villa, built in 1894, which harbours the museum on three levels. I wanted to contrast the edgy shapes of the
stones with a round and quirky design expression. Lighting is very important when it comes to gemstones. So I chose to play with strong
contrasts for the different exibition areas. Thin walls create light barriers and lead from room to room. Subtle neon details and round glass elements connect the overall concept.

LIGHTING
The lighting plays an important role in the museum. Some stones need light to unfold their effects, but in most cases a dusky and dark environment is the best to display gemstones. Therefore the rooms are switching
between bright, white rooms and
dark, black rooms.

CD HOSPITALITY - Big Project, 5th Semester The Kolplinghaus Warsberger Hof in Trier is a
huge hostel without a concept, within a baroque building.
The new concept contains the topics Urban
Gardening, Sustainability and Eco- Travelling, which are becoming much more important nowadays. A modern corporate identity should have been involved for the former nobel residence. The hostel can accommodate max. 24 guests. The remaining space is used as a permanent
living space for young people, who are looking after the house and its plants. The common spaces are located on the ground floortwo big dorms, two double rooms and shared flats

CD HOSPITALITY - Small Project, 4th Semester Eating dinner in Germany everybody has their own plate, their own space, circumvented with chair,
Akropolis Grill
cutlery and cup. Why? Shouldn`t we make the meal to a joint
experience? Why not profiting from the spaces of the table?
I had this idea of overcoming these spaces while travelling through greece. Everybody is eating from a huge plate standing in the middle. The construction of the table is suitable for my idea of a shared meal. The benches are
providing enough space to all kinds of people, you can spread out or move together. drinks
waste disposal

sitting
The blue concrete elemets and the different levels of sitting areas are creating a well- adjusted room. The fluent transition from inside and outside is made by the combination of concrete and glass. For the design I reduced greece on its clichés: marble, the colors blue and white and a huge grill.

CO DORMER DESIGN - 4th Semester The goal was to construct a corner out of glass. Therefore a lot of problems had to be
solved like wind pressure or water drainage. The wind pressure wasn`t a problem, because the dormer is really small. But water shouldn`t run down the front window or gather on top of the glazed construction, so the idea to form the top inclined came up. The glazed top edge conveys a fluent transition from the inside to the outside.

FURNITURE DESIGN
FD KLAPPE DIE ZWÖLFTE - 3rd/ 4th Semester Klappe die Zwölfte (engl. take twelve) The main idea oft the design was to create a seat by the window.
Nowadays our lifes are becoming more urban, we spend less and less outside.
This zeitgeist leads to the idea of a
space-saving piece of furniture, which should contain the outdoor intention.
Via adjustable belts, the furniture can be mounted to nearly any kind of window.
The lateral belts are clamped into the window, the steel bolts are holding the chair onto the
window frame and the adjustable slant is carrying the weight to the parapet.
The seat can be folded up completely. It fits into an Ikea bag.
